Morning all from a bright sunny warm NI , but it’s not too hot yet
I’m going on a coach holiday in 2 weeks , sorting clothes , need new but will make do . No point for 4/5 days . I washed and reproofed my coat and it looks a lot better

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire, currently 17°C. I’m glad you enjoyed your day out Mick.

I didn’t make it to the festival yesterday, there were very strong winds and I didn’t feel up to coping with crowds. Mr. B went for an hour or so and enjoyed looking at the historical vehicles on display.

Nothing much planned for today, just general housework, usual exercises, Gaelic practice and an audiobook. It rained heavily during the night, which I’m sure was welcome for the parks and gardens.

Love the photos Ashcombe, your costume is fab! grin.

I’m glad you had a good time Marydoll, there is always a payback though and hope you can rest today.

Happy Birthday Oops flowers

Have the best day possible all ???

Good morning from sunny Sefton.
? Gala.
DH has suggested we visit an NT property today. Following a meander round the house, gardens and vegetable-growing area (always of interest to me) there’ll be the long-established routine of a hot drink and slice of delicious cake - it would be rude not to, wouldn’t it?
Oops ? ? ?
Whatever your day entails, may it include a smile and bring you happiness.

Morning all from a wet and cool Argyll. Sun is shining through the clouds off and on but I've just put the heating on for an hour.

About to start another watercolour painting. I can't paint but I'm really enjoying this new hobby for rainy days (of which we have a lot). My last effort was in acrylics of a vase of flowers, but I've called the picture "Shadow Cat". That should tell you all you need to know about my painting skills ?

I'm sure I've said this before on GN, quoting my dad, who may well have been quoting someone else: "If a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing badly." Otherwise we'd never try anything new.

Hoping to get out and do some hedging later...

Happy days to you all!

Hi to * Forestflame, Gala and any newbies I’ve missed recently.

BlueSaphire have a lovely time, that’s a beautiful photograph of La Rochelle, it’s one of the places I’d love to go back to.

Mapleleaf Sun 21-Aug-22 09:43:44

Morning all,

The sun is shining at the moment and I think we’ve had rain because the plant leaves look wet. Not been outside yet, so I don’t know what the temperature is, but it feels warm through the glass of the kitchen window.

No plans for today other than a bit of ironing, so will see how the day unfolds.

Happy birthday Oops, have a lovely day. ???

Your cruise sounds very nice, BlueSapphire and I’m glad you are enjoying it.

Whatever everyone’s plan for the day is, have the best day you can. Take care.

Good morning from a bright, warm Durham - just as well as I’ve no heating or hot water until next month. Nothing planned, but I’ll do a long email to SinL in Cheshire and later visit a friend who is going into hospital for a brain operation. It was cancelled at the last minute, when they found she hadn’t been prescribed blood thinners early enough. Left hand, right hand?
?00ps have a great day.
Marydoll please consider, just for a little while - taking it easy!
gM my DDS would like me to move nearer them, but like others, I’m not ready yet and I find the whole idea overwhelming. How do you get a pint pot into a tea cup? I am going to use the dark nights to have a good sort out - it’s more the garage and stuff in the loft that’s going to be a problem.
Anyway, let’s enjoy the weekend if we can. Best wishes to all.

A very Happy Birthday Oops enjoy your special day! ???

Kalu Sun 21-Aug-22 09:29:21

Good morning all from a much calmer, dry Glasgow, it’s even quite sunny with patches of blue sky.

Yesterday must have been DH’s best day so far since his OP. as we managed a stroll around the garden, deadheading petunias finishing off with sitting in the sunshine for cake and coffee. A perfect day, followed by watching The Midwich Cuckoos, a John Wyndham book I read many years ago adapted for a TV series. Worth watching.
A warm welcome to Gala and ForestFlame

Have a pleasant day one and all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A bright start to our South Yorkshire day and a late one for me. I woke at some unearthly hour and then struggled to get back to sleep. DD and I had a lovely walk around their local woods yesterday then I drove over to see the newly weds at their party. I didn’t stay - just long enough to have a (soft) drink to toast the happy couple, give them a gift and say hello to everyone. I knew there weren’t going to be many folks I knew and I can’t cope with a crowd at the moment. Today I will go home, do a bit of shopping and cook a roast pork lunch for DD and her menfolk later. They are off on a short break tomorrow.
Have the best day you can folks.

Gala Sun 21-Aug-22 09:17:53

Good to 'meet ' you Urms ?

Good Morning from a warm, bright, (still dry!), Cambs.,
Busy time here, as DD & DGDs coming to stay for a few days.

Happy birthday Oopsadaisy, enjoy your day. cupcake wine

Kind thoughts for you all.

ginny Sun 21-Aug-22 09:15:36

Good morning everyone.
It seems very quiet this morning after the week with the two little DGSs.
Missing the chatter and cuddles.

Lazy day for me but I shall put a wash load in and then I intend to spend the rest of the day drawing and painting.
Grandmattie your quilt sounds lovely. Do you find you forget the time when you get immersed in craftwork?

Happy Birthday Oops

Happy travels to Thor’s who are away . Thoughts with those who are poorly , especially Marydoll whose attitude is an inspiration.

Wishing all as good a day as possible.

Susan56 Sun 21-Aug-22 09:03:36

Good morning from east Yorkshire where it is sunny but with cooler temps.

Lots to catch up with now we are home. Lsundry, tidying, food shop etc.

Welcome to Gala and Forestflame
Enjoy your camping Susan you are brave!

I’ll enclose a photo of a ship that was in Llandudno Bay briefly yesterday morning. We wondered if it is one of the ones doing cruises around the UK?

Take care everyone.

dustyangel Sun 21-Aug-22 09:02:04

Good morning all, not much planned for today apart from a small local posh shop later.

Lovely photos Ashcombe, congratulations on such a successful performance.

Enjoy church Marydoll. I hope the travels to and from are not too wearing and you have stories to tell us tomorrow.
