Good morning from a beautiful day here just off the French coast approaching Bordeaux. The sky has a rosy pink glow, and good weather is forecast.

Had a short sightseeing trip to La Rochelle yesterday morning, then spent the afternoon on deck in the sunshine enjoying my book. Then after dinner I watched the ship's resident singers as they presented an evening of songs from the musicals - what a young talented group they were.

We arrive in Bordeaux this afternoon, then I am on a panoramic tour of the city.. It will be interesting sailing up the the Gironde river to get to our berth.

Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.

La Rochelle yesterday.

Good morning from yet another brighter day in E Kent.
Rubbish night, couldn’t get to sleep then woke up at very silly o’clock. I’ll certainly have a nap this afternoon.
Glad you are enjoying your cruise, Blue. Look out for the “Dune de Pyla” on the Gironde; the biggest, highest, etc., sand dune in Europe.
Did very little yesterday, apart from sort out a valuation for the house to obtain probate so I can sell said house.
Finished choosing fabric from my stash and cutting out squares for the little patchwork I’m making. I’ve made half the squares, I now need to line with wadding and backing then quilt them before assembling them. There are 24 squares and I have made every one of them different, never repeating any fabric!
Much the same today. Church first thing, then yet another empty.
Be joyful, love well and much. Carpe diem. ??❤️?

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

Quiet day yesterday, finally caught up with the financial stuff. What a difference it made to have no interruptions. A gentle day ahead. We plan a walk around a local lake and coffee in a garden centre before home to a film. We both felt we needed a couple of quiet, stress free days.

There are permanent bus service cuts coming here Mick, villages will be left with no service. Sounds a good day Bluesapphire with another interesting day ahead. When we cruised I always loved the sail ins. Your new patchwork sounds very intricate grandmattie

Hope Sunday is gentle with us all.

PollyDolly Sun 21-Aug-22 07:16:43

Good morning all from a bright and sunny East Midlands; sorry but I do not often stop by in the mornings and leave a comment but I do read the thread later in the day.
Your cruise sounds lovely Bluesapphire, I have fond memories of France from countless holidays in the past.
Your patchwork sounds amazing grandmattie, keep up the good work.
Have the best day possible everyone and do take care in whatever you do.

Gingster Sun 21-Aug-22 07:18:38

Good morning all and it’s warm and calm here on the Suffolk coast.
Terrible night as we always give up our bedroom for visitors so they can have the en-suite. Dh and I in the spare room with a smaller bed and no toilet. I came downstairs for a couple of hours and then went back but still couldn’t sleep.

We had a lovely evening at our nephews Opera in the Forest. Beautiful evening and setting. The company is called ‘Opera Anywhere’ and they travel around the country. HMS. pinafore last night, so a lighthearted performance by professional singers. Wonderful.

DB and SIL will travel home today after lunch and DB2 will go home tomorrow. It’s lovely having them here (apart from the sleeping arrangements. .???.

We’ll have a walk along the beach and relax in the garden. No pressing arrangements .

Hoping you all have a good day. ?

Good morning Mick and all from a bright northwest coast.
Off on a coach day trip to Stratford on Avon, I have my sarnies and flask of coffee ready. Last time I was there I saw Anne Hathaway’s cottage, which was lovely. It will be a long day, will probably snooze on the coach.
You sound very organised GrandMattie. In some ways, I feel I should downsize after being widowed, but can’t face it…
Hope you all have a nice Sunday and thoughts to those with troubles.

Grandmabatty Sun 21-Aug-22 07:34:14

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and partially cloudy. It feels cool. Yesterday I had another breakfast out with a friend but my sciatica was sore in the afternoon so I didn't do much apart from the usual housework. I feel a bit better today. A quick trip to Aldi is on the cards this morning and I must start a painting/drawing as the exhibition is drawing nearer. I'll do some Spanish too. Roast chicken for dinner. Have a good day all.

Susan56 Sun 21-Aug-22 07:34:48

Good morning from Shropshire.

Today we will be preparing for a few days away this week with DD2 and family - camping? what were we thinking??‍♀️

DD1 and DGD are enjoying their girls trip to Glasgow.Yesterday they went to Blair Drummond safari park.

Have a good day everyone??

harrigran Sun 21-Aug-22 07:45:33

Good morning from a cloudy NE, I think it must be cool out as the heating has come on.
I was doing some housework when my sister rang for a chat and kept me on the phone for an hour. She is now testing negative and has resumed all her usual outings. Her flat here in the NE has been repaired, walls replaced and painted, after the fiasco with the upstair neighbour's shower.
SIL is coming this afternoon and we will have dinner together tonight. We are having lobster as a starter and duck for main course, haven't decided on the wine yet.
Have a good day.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 21-Aug-22 07:50:47

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Your trip sounds wonderful BlueSapphire the photo is lovely. Good to see you are getting back into your patchwork * GrandMattie*.
Yesterday pottered about in the morning and a friend came round for a cuppa in the afternoon. This morning hope to go to church, no idea what I’ll be doing apart from roasting a bacon joint this pm
Have the best day possible folks

Grammaretto Sun 21-Aug-22 07:57:45

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Midway through a house party weekend with the main event today. I hope the rain stays off.
We had Indian takeaway last night after a busy day and afterwards a most amusing "game" of Hygge.
I am with Hollysteers and am not ready to move just yet though I admire gMattie's ability to get things done, including patchwork!
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Ashcombe Sun 21-Aug-22 08:00:58

Good morning all from a wet Torbay!

Urmstongran asked for photos of my costume so I’ve included a couple.

Our two week run of ‘Allo, ‘Allo ended on a high with two wonderfully warm audiences for our final two performances yesterday. The generous applause and laughter enabled us to finish on a high. Between shows we enjoyed a bring and share buffet with fizz, along with the presentations to the directors.
With Covid induced restrictions jeopardising our first two summer plans to stage this play, it was a joy to see it finally come to fruition.

We are back at The Little Theatre today for a routine gardening and props sort out. Back to reality!

Every blessing for Sunday and I hope those with plans for the day enjoy themselves. ?????

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 21-Aug-22 08:06:14

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I will go to church later - one of the more ancient churches in the Benefice - for a Book of Common Prayer service. We are having lunch out today. One of our favourite restaurants where we haven’t been since my birthday in April. Another favourite restaurant which is only ten minutes drive away, closed last month. Such a shame but they just couldn’t get the staff. We might pop into a local garden enter and buy a new pot. The Rosemary plant I had for years, bit the dust and at the same time the pot became very frost damaged and disintegrated! Have a good Sunday everyone.

Gala Sun 21-Aug-22 08:08:18

Good morning from a bright & sunny Sefton. It has rained overnight.

Such a lovely welcome yesterday so am dipping my toe (or even a whole foot) in again.

Wow grandMattie what a HUGE sand dune. Had to look it up. Here in Sefton we have the largest (or maybe the longest? or both) dune system in England. It is a SSSI - home to red squirrels, natterjack toads & lots of other interesting 'stuff' too numerous to mention. And Formby asparagus!

DS1 & family here for lunch so better get a move on. Hope it stays dry then we can take our Dgd to the play park.

Take care & have the best day possible.

brook2704 Sun 21-Aug-22 08:09:12

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and bright, a few showers maybe due later
Not much planned for today, hopefully a catch up call with DS but that’s about it. DD2 will be popping round later to bring some of her work stuff. She works from home but will be using our house over the next week or so as they’re having their bathroom done and there will be a lot of noise and disruption.
Enjoy the rest of your special weekend grammaretto
A big well done with such a successful production of ‘Allo ‘Allo Ash and you look fabulous in your costume!
If you’re meeting friends or family or away on holiday have a lovely time and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Marydoll Sun 21-Aug-22 08:14:31

Good morning all, from a mixed weather Glasgow. Some sun peaking through the clouds.

Nothing much to report. We had a lovely overnight stay in Troon with DD and SIL.
However, I wasn't too well yesterday, a lesson, which I never learn, Don't over do things!.
DH and I had a large family room, with a sea view. What's not to to complain about? The WIFI signal! It was so bad, I gave up trying!

This morning I have to go to church, but getting there is a problem, as the roundabout at the church is closed. It's causing chaos in the town!
I'm way behind with my admin and it's annoying me, for I am a perfectionist and there are parishioners I need to speak too!
Apparently, the news on the street is that I am at death's door, my appearance should cause some excitement! ! ?

Lovely to hear the tales from afar, all those lovely memories, to look back on.

Wishing you all a pleasant day. ?

kittylester Sun 21-Aug-22 08:19:35

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire. It is still quite chilly.

Having had a fraught few days we intend to take it easy today. Comfort food in the shape of roast pork for lunch!

Have the best day possible everyone.

Pittcity Sun 21-Aug-22 08:19:49

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Another warm, dry day here. 24° is forecast, just right.
I am covering lunch breaks on the gate at a Barbecue festival in the park next to our estate so I'll bring something home for our meal. DH is away and DS isn't fussed about a Sunday roast.
Love to all ? x

baubles Sun 21-Aug-22 08:21:21

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s 12* and cloudy.

Did nothing yesterday except have a walk around the park which was really quiet. Daft dug decided to have a paddle in the burn which is quite unlike her, fun to watch though.

Great photos Ash, glad it went well.

Hope you have a brilliant day Grammaretto.

Your cruise looks great Blue.

Breakfast is calling then I’m going to meal plan for next weekend when DS and family come to stay for our local hot air balloon festival.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Urmstongran Sun 21-Aug-22 08:24:45

Here’s Matt.

A short & sweet good morning everyone from Malaga as the little ‘wheel of misfortune’ is whirring on my iPad. Another gorgeous day ahead and it not quite so scorchio. Much more bearable - someone must have dialled down the thermostat!

Thanks for the photos Ash they’re great! Love your costume. ?

grandMattie I’m in awe. You certainly don’t let the grass grow under your feet. Please show us your handiwork when it’s completed. It’ll be quite professional I’m certain.

Good morning from a cloudy with sun peeping out Black Country,

Finish packing today for my 5 day trip away with Mum. We are going to Great Yarmouth, but with day trips to Norwich, Sandringham Estate and Norfolk Broads.

Over to DD's this afternoon for a get together for DGD's 14th birthday which was yesterday, where she had 6 of her friends over for Pizza and Ice-cream cake.

Sounds like your run of performances was a great success Ashcombe

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday

Urmstongran Sun 21-Aug-22 08:29:44

Hi Gala! ?
