Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry and twilight here in brackley this morning ,and the start of a bank holiday weekend .
Today , I receive my phone call from the hospital, they rang me once to see I still how the powders for stomach check .
Yet I feel better not having collapsed or anything in around 12 weeks plus altered the way I take my medication which I will explain on the phone , to be honest if my surgery did another blood test just to see if changes had occurred it might give a different situ.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all. It is a bit musty here in N. Bucks at the moment.
Yesterday the rain stopped around midday so our canal trip was very pleasant. Cream tea and a very interesting commentary.
Happy Birthday Beechnut
Glad you are getting things sorted Mick.
Sorry about your cat*Ashcombe*.

A few bits and bobs to do this morning and then lunch with a couple of friends.
Later DD3s dog is coming to stay for the weekend.
Thinking of all who are I’ll or family that are.
Hope all can find a smile in your day.

Good morning all from a sunny East Midlands. The air is cool but there's no breeze to speak of.
New blind being fitted after lunchtime, apart from that nothing is planned specifically. Mr P brought in more tomatoes last evening after closing the greenhouse for the night, we have never had so much success.
Have the best day possible everyone, sending supporting thoughts for all those troubled by poor health or other matters.
Take care.

Good morning all from sunny south Hants.

Ashcombe - I so hope your ginger puss is just hiding ? - so sad to think of the alternative ?.

grandMattie you are such a lovely friend. Such a difficult situation for you. Do take care of yourself x

Marydoll - the ice cream sounds amazing ? that’s one gadget I don’t have! I may be tempted to ask for one for my birthday! ?

Beechnut - Happy Birthday ?

Chrissielou - fingers and toes crossed for your DD that the scan has good news x

glammagran - lovely photos

My dishwasher is now all plumbed in and ready to go ? and a loft ladder finally installed ? - now need to sort a plasterer.
Viewing DD flat she’s purchasing this morning - other than that a quiet day planned.
Washing machine on the go and I may even get round to cleaning the windows which I should have done earlier in the week but lacked the enthusiasm?

Have the best day you can.
Hugs and ? for all x

Good morning Mick, morning all from soggy South Lanarkshire. I’d gladly share our rain with you gM.

Sending good wishes to all the poorly DDs and their Mums.

Hope you find your lovely cat Ash.

I think I’ve been to that place Glammagran, very interesting.

Happy birthday Beechnut.

Sorry your shopping hobby is being curtailed Marydoll.

Lots of activity in our street yesterday as one neighbour moved out and their buyer, another neighbour, started moving things into the garage ahead of their proper move today. Six doors down, DH and I are thinking they could just form a human chain and shuttle their furniture along the street.

DS is bringing his girls this afternoon to stay for the weekend. Our town is having its annual hot air balloon festival, the first since the pandemic, so there’s great excitement. I’ve painted a couple of balloons on the kitchen window, the little ones will love it.

Have a good day everyone. ???

cornergran Fri 26-Aug-22 08:28:29

Morning Mick, morning All. Sky looks brighter over our corner of Somerset.

Yesterdays Zoom training exhausted me, I’m in that ‘what have I done?’ place with a real thought that the outside of the organisational tin and the contents are very different. See how I feel after next weeks session. It would be good to have the sense the organisation realises volunteers are not paid staff. Our granddaughter had excellent GCSE outcomes, much relief all round.

Today if there is no rain I’ll attack a very overgrown garden. Mr C will hold the ladder and then generally hinder. Our goddaughter needs a chat, she tried three times yesterday, apparently forgetting the training session.

A very happy birthday beechnut, a meal out sounds good to me.

That’s quite a responsibility grandmattie. Hope your cat is hiding ash and your fears unfounded. Wishing you calm seas glammagran. Always happy to help, with excess ice cream marydoll, wouldn’t dare make any as I’d eat it - all grin.

Hope Friday is kind to us all.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 26-Aug-22 08:31:35

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. Lovely blue sky and much fresher. We had a lot of rain yesterday so plenty of water stored for our vegetables as our hosepipe ban comes in today.

DS sent a video of hundreds of people queuing to get covid tests. Every student in China needs a covid test before going back to school. Goodness knows when this country will re open. It makes me so sad to think of all those little children being forced to have a test?

Ash what a sad task you have in front of you today.
Chrissielou all my best wishes to your DD?

Happy Birthday ? Beechnut enjoy your day.

Grandmadinosaur enjoy taking your GS to the coast x

I have DGS today. Tonight we are going out to a tapas restaurant on the marina with sister in law and her partner for her birthday.

Enjoy your day everyone wherever you are home or away. Thinking of those struggling today ??

GrannySomerset Fri 26-Aug-22 08:32:19

Laundry, admin and delivery of new armchair to complete the upgrade of the sitting room this morning. Have decided I need to be careful in the light of fuel costs so won’t replace the floor covering at the moment. Need to see how things go over the next year or so and not do inessential jobs.

Thoughts with Chrissielou and her DD and with grandmattie and her friend. Life somehow never gets easier, somehow.

dragonfly46 Fri 26-Aug-22 08:35:43

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire although feels chilly.

DS, DiL and DGC are coming today.

Happy Birthday Beechnut.
Hope you find your cat alive Ash.

Wishing every one the best day possible.

Greyduster Fri 26-Aug-22 08:45:20

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Quite a bright start in South Yorkshire. Maple I had no idea there was a hosepipe ban anywhere in the county; we must have had all the rain down our end!! Yesterday was a lost day. I carried out a task I had not been looking forward to, and then lost the impetus to do anything else. This afternoon I am taking GS to buy some new walking boots, and will be staying overnight at their house.
Ash I’m sorry to hear about your cat - I hope he’s just hiding somewhere.
Best wishes for the future for your daughter, Chrissielou.
Have the best day you can, everyone.

Gingster Fri 26-Aug-22 08:48:52

Good morning all from a sunny Suffolk seaside.
We had two very short showers yesterday , no thunder or lightning . ?.

Chrissielou - so glad your DD’s chemo has finished. ? for good results. ❤️.

Ash hopefully your lovely ginger Tom is just lying low. Our ginger Tom used to disappear for weeks and then turn up, purring and hungry . ?.

Our 3 GC’s results were good. DGD will go on to 6th form . She plans to be a paramedic. Twin gs’s will go on to a multi apprenticeship college They can try different trades ie carpentry, car mechanics, plumbing etc. sounds just right for them. ?

We are trying to find a plasterer. Not easy. Perhaps that’s the trade the boys could go into. ?.

Have a great day with your boys today GG. . You’ll earn your ?? ???.

Shopping and a dog walk along the beach this morning. Relax in the garden with a book and afternoon cuppa/g and t. and watch the sea.

Wishing you all a pleasant day. ?

monk08 Fri 26-Aug-22 08:52:31

Happy birthday Beechnut enjoy your day ???.

Blossoming Fri 26-Aug-22 09:28:37

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 15°C. Glad you are feeling well Mick, hope the appointment goes OK.

It has rained overnight here, yesterday was a lovely summer day without the high temperatures some are experiencing. I was able to get quite a lot done without overheating. Today Mr. B is taking me out for a pub lunch, it’s local but we haven’t been there for a long time. He didn’t tell me he was planning this until last night, a lovely surprise.

Sad news about your friend GransMattie. Glad you arrived safely Ash but what a sad arrival.

Happy Birthday Beechnut.

For Chrissielou and daughter, and our other grans and family going through difficult times flowers

Have the best day possible all ???

Pittcity Fri 26-Aug-22 09:40:08

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I am late this morning as I've been busy with DH and DS's washing. They've both been away in rainy places and have wet Mac's, tents etc to dry. Good job today is forecast to be warm and dry.
We had a few minutes of rain yesterday and it is now far less humid than of late.
DH has just had a text from the GP inviting him to book an autumn COVID booster. We already have flu jabs booked at our local Boots. What a social whirl!!!
Apart from washing we need to shop for the weekend. We were hoping to book a couple of holidays for next year but after watching the energy bill news this morning we will only be booking one in advance as we are digging into our savings more for day to day living.
Trying to Carpe Diem while planning ahead for a long life.??‍♀️

Happy Birthday Beechnut ???

Love to all ?x

aggie Fri 26-Aug-22 09:57:14

Good morning all from a wet ? Co Armagh, we topped up the rain butt from the rain tank last night , watering cans on my rollator ! This to save me next week and hoping for more rain , well it has worked a little , a wet morning , first in a while
Well done to all the GC with exam results ! GS hasn’t got his yet , he did some early and does more this academic year , it seems he had no way of getting to school so is waiting to see if they turn up in the post ,
Laid back doesn’t even start to describe his temperament!
Hair cut later , it doesn’t need it but it’s today or wait a month month

Kalu Fri 26-Aug-22 10:02:49

A late good morning all from back to a wet start to the day in Glasgow. Sunny yesterday, forecast, sunny tomorrow. I repeat, it’s good for the garden. ?‍♀️

DD1 started Pilates this week and has attended two classes so far. Her instructor has recommended gentle one on one classes to benefit me, which I will discuss with my GP next Friday. GD1 is keen to join in with her mum, we may make this a family affair. ?

As a cat lover Ash, with a soft spot for gingers, I have everything crossed Cooper will realise, now that you and your DH are home, it is safe to surface. ???.
A sad decision to make on your friends behalf GM. May she go gently.
Marydoll I will reply with a positive to your message.

Hoping a pleasant day lies ahead for all.

luluaugust Fri 26-Aug-22 10:13:33

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Off to get some batteries for my hearing aid, first time. The whole thing seems to be run by a charity and I go to a local library where a volunteer will sort everything out. A new adventure for me. My youngest GS has put a word game on my phone, apparently his other gran and various family members are all playing. He has no idea how competitive I can be and much to my amusement I see the other gran has apologised on the group chat for not being able to spend all day playing!
Happy birthday Beechnut
Best wishes to all.

gillgran Fri 26-Aug-22 10:22:41

Good Morning to you all from a warm & sunny Cambs.,
We did have a little rain yesterday morning, of course not nearly enough for our garden, (nor nearby growers).

Happy Birthday Beechnut, enjoy your special day. wine cupcake.

Kindly thoughts for all with extra worries of family & friends. flowers

Grammaretto Fri 26-Aug-22 10:25:47

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it is decidedly chilly. I am quite looking forward to my holidays next week.
I "babysat" for my DGS last night and he taught me to make veggie meatballs in takoyaki sauce with rice. I wasn't nearly so sophisticated at age 10. However I then had to endure his favourite animated movie which wasn't so popular with me.

The news about your DD Chrissielou sounds a relief at least and all the best to her. flowers

Happy birthday Beechnut wine Enjoy your celebrations.

I am trying to throw off a streaming cold, a small price for having such a big party at the weekend. smile

Megs36 Fri 26-Aug-22 10:51:13

Good morning all, tomorrow will beour62nd wedding anniversary, not sure where those years have gone. Up to recently, apart from some bad spells along the way we have been very lucky, this year seems to have changed though, is it old age catching upon us? Both very dodgy in lots of ways ,mentally and physically , Hoping for the est and appreciate fact we still wake-up. Sympathy to those GNs who’ve lost their parters. xx

Taichinan Fri 26-Aug-22 11:19:19

Good morning Mick and all from Autumnal Angus by the sea. The first of the autumn crocuses are blooming in the garden. I usually love early autumn, but just wonder what changes climate will make to it this year!
Nothing planned this weekend but have spent some lovely ones in recent weeks, so I can't complain.
My plan is to be down in Lincoln to see DS2 over my birthday at the end of September, but sod's law has intervened in the form of a letter from NHS Scotland giving me a date for my winter Covid booster and flu jab - the day before my birthday. I went on line as instructed to change the date but could only get Highland Perthshire!! A very minimum two hours' drive from here, on winding country roads. I think I'll take myself down to my local venue and make out I'm a dittery old lady who doesn't understand (no acting experience required wink) and see what they suggest. I wonder how long it will be before someone realises that this reliance on phones and internet is not good! Lovely time at tai chi yesterday, but for some reason I had only managed two hours' sleep the previous night and my brain was conspicuously absent. I was doing all the right moves but not necessarily in the right order!
The day before I took my older friend out for our weekly drive and cuppa. She's slowing down in every way quite rapidly, but has an indomitable spirit. She's only seven years older than me, and I find it quite scary to see.
Sorry about your puss Ash and I hope you find that your worst fears are wrong.
Glad to hear of all the good exam results. My very clever DGD's were not as good as she expected at the end of her first year at Sixth Form College, meaning a bit of re-evaluation is called for. She'll be fine though.
So happy for you about your DD Chrissielou. What a very sad and difficult few years she (and therefore you too) has been through. Sunshine only from now on!
flowers GrandMattie.
Loving all the stories and photos from the cruise ships too. Wonderful memories being made.
Well, the reason I stopped posting on here a while ago is that doing so was eating away at my mornings. I've just glanced at the clock ........ Oh dear!!
Enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend. Lots of love.

Anniebach Fri 26-Aug-22 11:20:08

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

dustyangel Fri 26-Aug-22 11:28:22

Chrissielou best wishes to your daughter.

A later good morning from me, as I was on an early tour this morning.

Welcome to Gijon, the capital of Asturias; bit of a dull day so shall talk about yesterday which was bright and sunny.

We were in La Coruna, and enjoyed a tour of the sights yesterday including this giant mosaic octopus where I sat within its tentacle embrace. Came back to the ship where I enjoyed a fish and chip lunch on the pool deck. Then sat in the sun and read for the afternoon.

Which is what I plan to do this afternoon. Hoping all have a good Wednesday.

BlueSapphire Fri 26-Aug-22 11:47:03

Glammagram your ship will soon be overtaking her sister ship Discovery, as we pootle along the northern Spanish coast. We are in Gijon and will be in Santander tomorrow.

Kalu Fri 26-Aug-22 12:13:22

Happy birthday and many happy returns Beechnut ??
Wishing your DD all the best and a happier journey going forward after all she has been through Chrissielou.
