I don’t read the articles but see the headlines, the poor couple must be seriously damaged by the constant attention and criticism they are receiving.

I’m not a fan but enough is enough surely!

Which one am I Jo? smile

I don't think bullies generally know they are bullying

I think they justify it to themselves and when you get a group, to each other.

Then their victims get judged for their reactions to it

It's fascinating to watch from a logical position but mostly heart breaking really

GagaJo

What I think is interesting about this topic on GN is that it is easy to tell the role certain posters would have taken at school. The bullies, the bullies gang members, the loners and the studious pupils.

You’ve forgotten the cheerful, popular ones who recognised that bullies were just a load of hot air and self importance.

Sometimes when I'm reading some threads GagaJo I picture Draco Malfoy and his little gang. ?

Anniebach Sat 27-Aug-22 13:21:55

Some can’t tell the difference between bullying and criticism ,
no one here can bully a public figure unless they speak to them,

Is Johnson bullied or criticised on this forum ?

Was calling Prince Phillip- Phil The Greek, or referring to the
Queen as Lizzie bullying, criticism , mocking ?

FannyCornforth Sat 27-Aug-22 13:26:55

Keith and Brenda, surely?

VioletSky Sat 27-Aug-22 13:46:38

Johnson has directly impacted an incredible amount of lives in a negative way.

Harry and Megan... not so much

Anniebach Sat 27-Aug-22 14:17:49

Harry and Megan certainly haven’t effected my life , with the
exception of remembering the pain of having some family members going public about another family member.

Johnson has affected my life .

I criticise the three. Betrayal is betrayal regardless if I am affected .

Lucca Sat 27-Aug-22 14:24:57

I’d STILL like to hear who you think “admires “ Meghan on this thread Annie….

VioletSky Sat 27-Aug-22 14:33:47

I think it's difficult

If I were famous I can quite imagine my estranged mother playing victim in the media and I can imagine wanting to defend myself and probably getting it a bit wrong at times

When it comes to Harry and Megan, Megan's family, Harry's family... I think I would be projecting my situation onto them of I were to get heavily involved in it.

I have no idea what the real truth is behind their story and probably neither does a lot of people

So I leave it be for the most part

But what I do think that they get a lot of negative attention and it must be hard for them and will be for their children in future

eazybee Sat 27-Aug-22 17:01:39

I expect the royal family were glad of Meghan's departure and happy to maintain a dignified silence. She needs them far more than they need her.

Recollections may vary. Best riposte ever.

I don't think bullies generally know they are bullying

Oh I think they know fine well that they're bullying others; they're usually repeatedly called out on it but justify it to themselves and their group as "not meaning it maliciously, it's just a bit of fun, can't you take a joke?" On GN they get banned for it.

Lathyrus Sat 27-Aug-22 17:07:47

Sometimes ?

VioletSky Sat 27-Aug-22 17:07:50

It would be hilarious if Megan and Harry were reporting gransnet goings on

Serendipity22 Sat 27-Aug-22 17:10:12

Well I said it before and I say again... I feel very sorry for Harry.

Megan I have no concrete view on but Harry yes, look at allllll he has lost, turned his back on. Yes, we can only go by what the press feed us and going by that alone, I have the upmost sympathy for him.

hmm

Chewbacca Sat 27-Aug-22 17:20:53

The worst culprit was banned Lathyrus. I find it interesting that known and proven bullies are frequently the first ones to call out others on their bullying behaviour. Maybe it's instant recognition of how badly they behaved and they're ashamed of it and want to stop others behaving in the same way? Who knows?

Lucca Sat 27-Aug-22 17:57:01

Obviously not getting an answer.

Anniebach Sat 27-Aug-22 17:59:15

Obviously

I’m reading the ‘Revenge’ book by Tom Bower.

If what he writes is anywhere near the truth, (and I think it is), I don’t think we need to be concerned about Meghan being bullied.

Harry maybe.

Meghan comes across as a lady who can definitely deal with any bullying, and is not averse to dishing it out herself.

eazybee Sat 27-Aug-22 18:00:38

Well, as they confuse criticism with bullying, they probably will.

Anniebach Sat 27-Aug-22 18:06:48

He is known as a very thorough journalist, he certainly gave
names of many sources.

Serendipity22 Sat 27-Aug-22 18:10:39

So do you think Megan is pulling the strings and has ropes him in?

I kind of think that BUT obviously only from things the press have said/printed. I dont know if I feel sorry for Megan being ripped in shreds by the press, I really dont know..... I just cant make a concrete decision, but its Harry that I am leaning towards....

I mean he has lost soooooo much, he was adored by the British public, could do no wrong...

confused

Well, I don't think Tom Bower is very keen on Meghan
(An understatement)

It might be necessary to have a tub of Maldon's nearby.

VioletSky Sat 27-Aug-22 18:13:41

I don't warm to Megan either and I don't know why. I can see how difficult her family is and the impact that probably has had... maybe she just hasn't found herself yet under all the extra pressure
