Good morning everyone from the western English Channel, as we spend our last day at sea. I am not really up at 6.15 English time! We are on French time, so here on the ship it is coming up to 7.20. It is a sea day, so shall go to breakfast a bit later this morning. Then the packing begins. Apart from that nothing planned really, so shall just go with the flow.
Yesterday's programme included a visit to the French port of Brest, a change from the planned visit to St Malo (beyond the ship's control). We had a brief tour of the area in the morning, but there was not a lot to see there, apart from a rather imposing harbour castle. The afternoon was spent reading on the sundeck, followed by a Pina Colada as we sailed out; next it was time for formal dinner. Lobster was on the menu again!
The evening's entertainment was a brilliant show by the ship's crew (mainly Filipino). They have some really talented performers amongst them, singers and dancers. They also treated us to some traditional Filipino dances and songs. The final act was a very emotional song about their home in the Philippines - and their second home, the ship. There was barely a dry eye in the house.
Well, must make the most of my last day at sea, fine weather is promised so a turn around the deck may be on the cards. Have a lovely Wednesday everyone.
