Good morning from la Sarthe, where it’s warm again although a slight NE breeze is helping currently.

Rain was promised this morning but, as is often the case here, it hasn’t materialised. Yesterday, we moved any vulnerable items of treasure (junk) from our mega sort out to a place undercover, just in case.

I trust you are feeling better now, Mick, and that everyone is as well as possible and has enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend. Welcome to Wolpol! ?????

Good morning!
Off for DDog walk shortly then I really need to finish emptying the bedrooms ?, get on with tidying the front borders and do the ironing. Unfortunately my oomph isn’t getting going!
Hope you all have a lovely day x

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s a cool start in my corner of Lancashire, there’s a golden sky, currently 12C. No rain forecast for today.

Hope you’re feeling better Mick.

No real plans for today. Mr. B has a dental appointment, hopefully just a check up. I need to catch up on some housework and thinking about what needs to be done before our trip north next week. It’s so long since we’ve been away I must make sure we have everything we need.

Have the best day possible all ???

Good morning from a grey E Kent. It rained for 2 minutes at 0429!
I had a lovely surprise yesterday afternoon. A lady I speak when walking round (literally) the town came round to see how I was. It is interesting that the people who have been most sympathetic and attentive haven’t been those I thought were friends, but mostly acquaintances.
I have an 8 o’clock appointment for my feet, t’ai chi has been cancelled due to people being on holiday or incapacitated, so I shall visit my old friend to see how she is. I’ll then go to the pub for coffee with my t’ai chi ladies.
I have to finish packing for my trip to Bristol tomorrow.
Take care, dear friends. Carpe diem. ????❤️

Good morning Mick and everyone from a cooler south Hants?

Mick - I hope you’re feeling better today.

I wasn’t feeling well yesterday so took a lateral flow test - thankfully it was negative - but am feeling better today.

Mammogram today - always makes me feel anxious, but am grateful for the technology and skills that found my last breast cancer.

Have the best day you can everyone. Thinking of those that are suffering and hoping that life gets easier.
Hugs and ?to you all x

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Our new hall and landing curtains are being delivered this morning. I hope they’re what we expect! I have a blood test at 12.30 pm, I had my annual long term conditions check recently and the the doctor wants to do a liver test again as it was borderline. Our gardener is coming this morning. I think she will be mainly cutting down hedges. At some point I will drive younger son to Oxford so he can get the train back to London. It has been good to see him. He made a delicious fish pie last night.

Good morning everyone from the western English Channel, as we spend our last day at sea. I am not really up at 6.15 English time! We are on French time, so here on the ship it is coming up to 7.20. It is a sea day, so shall go to breakfast a bit later this morning. Then the packing begins. Apart from that nothing planned really, so shall just go with the flow.

Yesterday's programme included a visit to the French port of Brest, a change from the planned visit to St Malo (beyond the ship's control). We had a brief tour of the area in the morning, but there was not a lot to see there, apart from a rather imposing harbour castle. The afternoon was spent reading on the sundeck, followed by a Pina Colada as we sailed out; next it was time for formal dinner. Lobster was on the menu again!

The evening's entertainment was a brilliant show by the ship's crew (mainly Filipino). They have some really talented performers amongst them, singers and dancers. They also treated us to some traditional Filipino dances and songs. The final act was a very emotional song about their home in the Philippines - and their second home, the ship. There was barely a dry eye in the house.

Well, must make the most of my last day at sea, fine weather is promised so a turn around the deck may be on the cards. Have a lovely Wednesday everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from the Norwegian coast where we are heading towards Lysefjord on a fine sunny day.
Some of our number are going to hike up to Pulpit Rock very high above the fjord, and bravely stand on top to look down on us faint hearted ones below!
I am going to be zipping about in one of our zodiacs to explore the head of the fjord. This being after lunch. Before that I will probably attend one of the onboard lectures and prowl the decks admiring the scenery. We are having splendid weather and I shall be returning much browner than when I set out.

Do have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from Dorset where it looks like another warm sunny day is forecast
I’ve not had chance to post for a few mornings as we’ve had fairly early starts to our days. Our walking holiday is going very well, the weather has been really good, a bit too hot for walking up steep hills though. We’re now in Burton Bradstock and on one way via Abbotsbury to Weymouth today. We’ve passed through some gorgeous seaside towns and villages. One more week of walking and then we will have finished this long distance footpath!
Hoping everyone is ok, wishing everyone on holiday a lovely time and hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today. Take care all whatever the day brings ?

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is cloudy at the moment.

Not much on the agenda today, Mr C isn’t as well as he might be. I may sneak off for some grocery shopping, no delivery this week, fancied a change. Must also finish my homework ready for Thursdays training session.

Safe trip tomorrow grandmattie and anyone else on the move with calm seas for the sailors.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

Good morning from Pau, we arrived here yesterday after a stunning drive through the Pyrenees.
There was a dramatic storm last night so hoping it will feel a little fresher than yesterdays 38 degrees.
Walking boots on later and off up the hill to explore.

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 30-Aug-22 06:55:40

Good Morning Mick, hope you are feeling better today.

Skies are clouding over in Oxfordshire today, but sun is forecast later.

Hope everyone has a good day

Grandmadinosaur Tue 30-Aug-22 06:57:17

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. There is a sunny sky but it’s a cool 12 degrees.

Had an enjoyable day at Burton Constable hall yesterday. Didn’t bother with the wallpaper afterwards. That will wait.

Had an unexpected text last night asking if I was going to coffee morning today. I thought all the other ladies were away/occupied etc but a couple are available and so off I will go ?

Your walking holiday sounds lovely in a picturesque part of our country brook

It sounds like your cruise has been a very enjoyable one Bluesapphire

Take care everyone.

glammagran Tue 30-Aug-22 07:05:06

I posted yesterday but inadvertently placed on Sunday’s Good Morning. So a few adjustments.

We retuned to Southampton from our cruise on Sunday. To our great surprise and delight the children had been in and decorated our living room with balloons etc and left a Fortnum & Mason hamper and other goodies for our 40th wedding anniversary. We’ve had a great cruise but it seemed very strange being back at home. Loads of washing to look forward to. It was very rough on Friday in the Bay of Biscay off Portugal, cold and windy so the top decks were closed off. However Saturday was hot and sunny again. We saw loads of dolphins alongside the ship off Brest including a couple of babies.

Sunday was also DGD3’s 4th birthday. We didn’t see her as they enjoyed a family day out but we went to her family birthday party earlier today. The theme was Frozen. DD has a friend who does nails so they were painted silver just like Princess Elsa. My other children and GC came too. Unfortunately the 16 month old had a temperature of 40c and was very grouchy.

So sorry to hear about Cooper Ashcombe- it’s so hard losing a much loved pet. Coffee and walnut cake is my favourite. Yours look lovely Grandmattie.

Hope the other cruisers are having a lovely time.

Have a good day all.

Good morning from a blue sky Durham. No rain forecast.
Back from Malaga and I’ve hit the ground running - coffee this morning with a friend, chiropody this afternoon and a friend I haven’t seen for two weeks is desperate to meet up after that. Have DD2’s older dog here, so a walk with him later - it’s getting dark earlier every day now.
Best wishes to Harri for today’s procedure and any other GNs feeling under the weather.

Good morning all from a bright but chilly North Leicestershire.

Our gardener is due this morning too. There is quite a bit of clearing up to do and we want to talk about more drought resistant plants for where stuff hasn't survived. And, we want a plan to replace a huge euphorbia which is taking over.

I have choir, ironing and shopping to fit in too. Burgerologist for tea.

Have the best day possible everyone.

NannyJan53 Tue 30-Aug-22 07:10:50

Good morning from a cloudy Black Country.

Off to DD's today to be with the girls whilst she goes into school. This is the 4th time she has been in over the holidays!

Then later this afternoon take Mum for a blood test. Hopefully it may pinpoint why she says she feels unwell constantly.

Wishing you all an enjoyable day

Good morning all!
Just popping in to see how you all are and to wish any poorly friends or those with family worries well. Yesterday’s attacks on GN have left me reeling and unsure whether the site as a whole (not this lovely thread) is the “safe space” I thought it was.
I may need to back off for a wee while and recentre.
In the meantime I wish you all a pleasant day, September soon and here at least, there are the beginnings of Autumn with a nip in the air. ?

harrigran Tue 30-Aug-22 07:17:34

Good morning from a sunny NE ?
Kept busy all day yesterday, washing and ironing done and watched some TV too.
DD will work from home today so SIL will take me shopping a day earlier than usual, needs must as I will be taking prep tomorrow ?
Lovely to hear about all the different holidays and how good the weather has been.

I’m sorry you’ve had a rotten time on GN recently, Maw. I hope that the kindness on this thread restores your faith in the essential goodness of people.
In my case, I have seen too many attacks to really voice my opinion. I just read the threads, check the posters, and then decide whether to comment. Usually I don’t. Can’t cope with unpleasantness after a completely unprovoked attack years ago.
Anything to keep the peace - head in the sand, me….

Good morning from Shropshire.

A trip to the dentist for me this morning?after my clear check up a couple of weeks ago I have lost a filling?

As my dental practice is in Shrewsbury we will pop into town afterwards and hopefully have lunch out if my mouth is ok??

Have a good day everyone??

Gingster Tue 30-Aug-22 07:27:34

Good morning all from a sunny (with a bit of cloud) Suffolk by the sea.
We are off back to Essex today so clearing up and a tip trip is on the agenda,
Hopefully I’ll be back in time for my bridge club this afternoon.

I had a cuppa and long chat with my lovely neighbour here yesterday afternoon while Dh was at a footie match. I’ll miss her!

I hope everyone has a good day ?

Good morning from a sunny East Midlands. Busy morning planned as we are doing the weekly shop today, the afternoon will be taken up with batch cooking no doubt.
Have the best day possible, take care in all you do and stay positive.

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate.
Have been very busy turning a junk room and my craft room into bedrooms for my visitors tomorrow. Today I have DGS to care for. Thinking of taking him on the bus and train to Knaresborough.
I managed to gouge a hole in my leg last week, walking into the open door of the dish washer, I know I should have gone to A&E but didn’t really have time for a 4 hour wait. Its still painful. But manageable.
Have the best day possible folks
