Good morning, Everyone,
Twilight here in brackley but its dry at the moment.
I am starting to feel OK within myself at the moment, and stopped taking the iron tablets as I felt i was over doing it, as I ate foods which contained it
Usual bus trip out to Bicester I go in early and do not rush around when I used to spend an hour there.
Take Care,
Mick

An early good afternoon from a glorious Durham. Was up and out early to take DD2’s dog for a walk, then took back to his home, had half an hour with DGS2, then over to DD1 to collect DGS1, as he’s spending a couple of days with me. His Nursery/PreSchool is closed for teacher training. He’s supposed to be starting Big School on Monday, but that’s closed for the same reason and his first two weeks will be half days - not an easy juggling act for parents.
Wanted to wish Harri good luck for today. Also ? for GrannySomerset. It would’ve been my Golden Wedding Anniversary tomorrow, but I doubt DH would have made it a special occasion - at least with DGS1 here, I’ll be kept busy and not dwelling on ‘what if’s’.
Best wishes to those poorly daughters, hoping they’ve turned a corner. LLF you must have the patience of a saint - complain if it’s justified, but your friend just seems to want to cause a scene. Birthday ? greetings to those celebrating too. X

LLFL my sister in law is exactly the same.We only go out for meals with them on high days and holidays now.My brother usually ends up swapping meals with her.Our worst was at a restaurant in Cromer where she insisted she had been served tinned crab in a restaurant selling freshly caught crab??

Glad to see you posting, HAZBEEN

GrannySomerset ? what special memories of your drive around London on your wedding day

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 01-Sept-22 10:59:27

Urmstongran

What does your meltdown friend actually do when you eat out with her LLFL? I must have missed the back story.
?

Theee or four times she has found fault with her food. Rather than deal with this quietly she asks for the manager, refuses to have anything else, threatens to put her experience on social media etc., etc. meanwhile I usually sit feeling embarrassed and carry on eating my food.

Thank you so much for the flowers. DH was a great buyer of flowers and I miss that. Gas boiler being serviced this morning so real life goes on.

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy northwest coast.
Now taking the pills for the stomach from the hospital and slightly better but not sure if I can manage the Bookgroup tonight. It will be the first meeting in the flesh since lockdown so would like to see them.
Couldn’t cope with the book however, magic realism.
I’m also wondering if I can get to art group in the morning followed by practice with the band in the afternoon.
What a bother dicey health is!
Started watching Poldark a thousand years after everyone else and am enjoying it and it’s leading man…
Thoughts to all with worries or troubles and will read through properly later.

Good morning Mick and everyone. Dry and bright at the moment in my corner of Lancashire, though there are quite a few clouds about. Currently 16°C.

September is my favourite month, the light is so soft and beautiful and it’s not too hot. Planning on a few gentle walks in the next few weeks, wobbly head permitting. We are going out for a pub lunch today, revisiting an old haunt.

Hope all goes well today Harrigran, and hope the dentist appointment has the desired outcome Marydoll.

Good luck with the lunch date LadyLL grin

Happy Birthday to Imogen Jax, and to your daughter Sally.

Have the best day possible all. Safe journey to all travellers and enjoy those family get togethers ?

Good morning all! After the lovely support and PMs from some of you kind ladies on "that thread" the other day I have given myself a good talking to and thought I would try again!
Not a lot going on today, just sorting out a few cupboardsans such like.
I got a message from the GP yesterday to say she is phoning tomorrow am to discuss some test results. A few weeks ago the head of practice called me in after a medicine review and I had a 40 minute face to face. The upshot was lots of blood tests, xrays and such were ordered and the results have started to come back. My Blood Cancer is now under control, (I take oral chemo 5 days a week and that is for life) but my other problems had been put on the back burner. She now wants them sorted, thank goodness she took a look!
I have still been reading this thread everyday and best wishes to all of you who have had troubles and your families.
Thank you for the shout out Marydoll, you make me smile everyday with your novellas!
Keep on keeping on everyone!

Good morning all , kind thoughts to those “going through it”, Harrigran I used to tell Paw when he had his annual colonoscopy that people paid good money for the “detox and cleanse” he got for free from the NHS with his Moviprep. Somehow he was never very amused - I wonder why?
He preferred to have his done in the morning , I think because of the Moviprep timing, but I do not envy you. Getting him to London for the procedure was always an issue because of the length of the journey.
D, SIL and GS (and dog) have gone now - I am always relieved when I hear they are safely home, you can’t help worrying can you?
So today I think I need to give the house a bit of a blitz and have started on the upstairs bathroom floors with my Flash speed mop. I’ll try to Hoover especially downstairs before I run out of momentum - it may be a close run thing.
Wishing you all a pleasant day and a good month!

Good morning from sunny Sefton by the sea. ? Gala if you’re reading.
DGD will be back at school next week so yesterday’s three hour frolicking in water was our last for some time. ? In the evening I enjoyed my own swim in the slot just after the wild swimming ladies. When I meet them they are very keen to add me to their group, appearing with dry robes for me to try, advising me about wet suits. So far I am resisting temptation!
Today we’re having windows, patio and French doors fitted. I’ve booked the flooring for two weeks’ time, enjoying SKIing.
Putting the world to rights with a group of friends this afternoon is on my agenda, plus of course the obligatory cake…
Whatever your plans, carpe diem.

Sixty years ago I was getting ready for our wedding on one of the very few fine Saturdays that summer. Parts of the day are so vivid in my memory that I can’t believe it is so long ago, particularly the drive from the church to the reception through a sunny Hyde Park and then along very busy Oxford Street where we felt like royalty as people waved to us!

I am taking a friend out to lunch, a small thank you for all her support and kindness and we will talk about our much loved and missed husbands to our hearts’ content without boring anyone else. Carpe diem.

LauraNorderr Thu 01-Sept-22 09:19:17

Good morning from ☀️Anglesey. Wow, September already, children returning to school, holidaymakers going homeward, Strictly soon on telly, last night of the Proms coming closer.
We’ve had the busiest of summers with family and friends visiting in their droves, some preplanned and some delightful surprises.
I have enjoyed cruising with some of you and basking in the sun with others, love to see pictures of foreign lands.
Looking forward to pics of the Bordeaux wedding Sago, what a romantic place to get married.
Hope the daughters going through chemo are doing okay, end in sight and the road to recovery looming.
Congratulations to proud grans of budding ballerinas, yes you Ash and proud grans of those who did well in A levels, Btecs and GCSEs. We’re always proud of them aren’t we, whatever they do.
Have a good day all and don’t forget to look out for that random pink flamingo.

Good morning all,

A sunny start today but fairly breezy.

Pilates this morning and then we’ll see. I’ve got an appointment this pm, but otherwise quite an empty day.

Hope your day goes as well as possible.

Jaxjacky Thu 01-Sept-22 09:03:42

Morning all from, as SunshineSally said, a cloudy S Hants. Happy Birthday to your daughter Sally, it’s Imogen’s 15th today and we have both grandchildren here, my daughter has to work at school on this inset day.
I’m on the voluntary phone today, we’ll get out for a while, MrJ has the day off so is chief entertainer.
Enjoy your days out with friends and family everyone. Best wishes to those with medical appointments.

The captain of our bowls club has sent a message that they are starting back soon and do I need a lift ? Luckily a rider was added to the effect that I was welcome any time to watch the game ….. wheww
I’m due a few days away on a coach trip next week , I have everything out on the spare bed to pack , but , looking at the forecast I might have a rethink !
Thinking of harrigran today

Susan56 Thu 01-Sept-22 08:36:33

Good morning from Shropshire.

We are looking after Hurricane Henry and Miss M today. We haven’t seen them for a couple of weeks as first they had a week away then we had our camping trip with DD2 and family.Back to our regular two days of childcare next week.

I hope we will be able to take Miss M to see your granddaughter in Swan Lake Ash.She starts a new dance school on Monday as the one she was attending keeps cancelling classes. She will be 7 this year and I think she is old enough to enjoy the performance.

Enjoy your travels and meet ups.Hope all unwell soon feel better.Harrigran, hope today isn’t too bad for you?

Have the best day you can everyone???
