Good morning, Everyone,
Twilight here in brackley but its dry at the moment.
I am starting to feel OK within myself at the moment, and stopped taking the iron tablets as I felt i was over doing it, as I ate foods which contained it
Usual bus trip out to Bicester I go in early and do not rush around when I used to spend an hour there.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Salleboeuf nt Bordeaux, not sure what the weather is as I haven’t looked out yet, I’m awake early mainly due to some mosquito bites, they’re fierce!
Met up with our little grandchildren yesterday, meeting other family in Bordeaux later then picking up our son who is flying in from Oslo.

grandMattie Thu 01-Sept-22 06:07:52

Good morning from beautiful Cardiff. I’m sharing a room with pre-teen DD1 whose capacity for sleep…. So I haven’t opened the curtains. (Iris has meltdowns if her mother is there and she sleeps far from her)
I’m glad you’re starting to feel better, Mick, you might be right in slightly overdosing on Iron pills…
We’re having a mini holiday here. Today, swimS for Iris , Art Galley/Museum for me and shopping to DD1.
My journey to Bristol was without hitch, except that the London strain got in 20 minutes late. Although I know I have plenty of time to go from.St. Pancras to Paddington, I got very fretful.
Have a good day y’all. Carpe diem. ??❤️???

harrigran Thu 01-Sept-22 06:13:06

Good morning from a foggy NE.
Set the alarm for 5.50am so I could do second lot of prep but I woke at 4.50am, going to be a long day.
DD and SIL are going to a funeral this morning and then coming to take me to the hospital.
Have a good day.

Ashcombe Thu 01-Sept-22 06:24:01

Good morning, all, from a dry Sarthe.

Mick: It’s good that you’re feeling the benefit from the iron tablets but your reserves will be depleted and you should finish the course or seek advice from your pharmacist before giving them up. I’ve suffered from anaemia at times ever since my teens.

Yesterday, I had a long chat with my DD2 and received texts from a very excited DGD regarding her first experience of rehearsing with The English Youth Ballet for which she successfully auditioned in June. Along with about 100 other young dancers and a few professional principals, she will be spending each weekend rehearsing for Swan Lake, to be staged at a theatre in Stoke-on-Trent in late September. I know some of you enjoy ballet so here's the link:-

www.englishyouthballet.co.uk/

I hope you enjoy your break, grandMattie. It’s always good to be with family, wherever you are. ???
If you can get to a supermarket or pharmacist, Sago, try to buy Marie Rose cream for those horrid bites. It’s magic!

Wishing everyone a good day. ?????

cornergran Thu 01-Sept-22 06:26:50

Morning Mick, morning All. Light cloud over our corner of Somerset.

Wandered out for lunch yesterday, cafe in a small garden centre where everything is cooked to order, very good it was too.

Zoom training session for me today. Definitely not looking forward to it. I’m finding concentrating via a screen is difficult in many ways and it’s oh so hard to get a sense of my fellow trainees.

Enjoy Cardiff grandmattie, a beautiful city. Sounds a fabulous family time sago. All good wishes today harri, soon be over. Pleased you feel stronger mick.

Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

BlueBalou Thu 01-Sept-22 06:37:40

Nothing at all other than that today, DH will walk DDog this morning.
I hope everything goes well for you all today x

Good morning all and it’s a lovely Start to September! ??. It was very breezy yesterday but it’s calm and still out there now.

Today our bowls club resumes after the august break. We have a new member starting who we all know and she’s very good fun. She played a few years back so not a novice.

I might go back to art group this afternoon as I haven’t been for about 4 months, for one reason or another. I don’t like to get too tied down, with hobbies, but then again I do love to have a busy schedule. No pleasing me ! ??.

GM enjoy your time in Cardiff with your girls. ?.
Ash your gd must be very talented. She will love every second of her time with the Ballet company. ?.
Harrigran hope all goes well for you ?.
Sar I do hope your DGD is feeling much better ?.

Wishing you all a good day ?

grandMattie Thu 01-Sept-22 07:25:04

Oh, white rabbits ??? - if it’s not too late…

brook2704 Thu 01-Sept-22 07:26:42

A big well done to your very talented DGD Ashcombe
Thinking of you today harrigran and take care all whatever the day brings ?

ShazzaKanazza Thu 01-Sept-22 07:27:46

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a fine Hull morning.

Harrigran best wishes today?

GrandMattie enjoy spending time with your family you deserve it.

Looking forward to a child free day today so I’m going to the gym. This afternoon a meet up with Grandmadinosaur which will be lovely.
Tonight we are going with a couple of friends to the casino for a meal. We have a voucher from last time. I’m driving as I don’t want to be late home as I have to be out early in the morning for GS.

Wishing everyone a lovely day of family and friend meet ups but thoughts to those who have hospital appointments and illness to endure ??

Ashcombe Thu 01-Sept-22 07:30:55

It’s just started raining hard here in La Sarthe for the first time in weeks!

BlueSapphire Thu 01-Sept-22 07:31:15

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ? Northampton; have just popped out to put some stuff in the bin and it feels quite mild. a good day for washing, and have already got a load in the machine, and another load waiting.; I don't seem to have too much after the cruise, thank goodness!

It was back to earth with a bump yesterday, having to cook my own dinner! Just got on the scales and have only put on 3lb, so I'll hopefully get rid of it after getting back to my exercise groups and some normal eating.

Expecting the cats back soon, so life will truly be back to normal. Must pop round to the post office to return some stuff from Amazon that turned out to be either too big or too small; didn't have time to return them before my cruise, plus I was isolating. Then a Sainsbury's delivery over lunchtime.

Take care everyone and have a good day.

Urmstongran Thu 01-Sept-22 07:31:23

Already September. Oo-er!

Urmstongran Thu 01-Sept-22 07:51:34

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from sunny Malaga. We have the local handyman, Gonzales, who lives in the block, coming over later this morning to fit up the heavy new ceiling fan with its remote control. We plan to disappear downstairs to Juan’s for café con leche y pan con tomate while he gets on with it.

No other plans. I finished my audiobook. I’m not a fan of Harlen Coburn after all. Too many twists and turns plus some far fetched nonsense. Ah well, I’ve started ‘Betty’ by Tiffany McDaniel which was recommended to me by a book club friend. It’s a coming of age story steeped in Cherokee history, set in the Appalachia’s in 1950. It’s very promising already, so that’s me a happy bunny!

Good morning all from Glasgow, where its only 8°C, feels quite autumnal.

I'm glad to hear you have arrived safely GM, I hope your day goes well.
Harri, I hope today is not too troublesome, not the best of days for you.
Mick, like Ash, I agree that you should should finish the course, if they have been prescribed by your GP. I have just finished a course and have definitely felt the benefit.
However, folic acid can cause diahorrea, which you had the other day, so perhaps check in with your GP.

DH and I had the nicest of days out yesterday. The meal was delicious and the idea of small plates of food, suited me really well, since my appetite is poor.
From the restaurant, I took a picture of DS1's office window and sent it to him. I came back from the loo, to find him sitting in my seat. It made my day, as we never see him on his own, so got a chance to chat and catch up. The icing on the cake, a photo of he and I, something I don't have. I'm quite sentimental that way.

Dear Pants, TKMAXX came up trumps! DH got a new golf cap, I picked up a wooden serving board in the clearance aisle and best of all, DH treated me to a stunning Chr*****s, globe with a Nativity scene in it.
In previous years, we would be in Rome this week, bringing back something like this, but obviously I can no longer travel abroad, so this was to make up for it.
The fact that it was priced in Euros, was a sign that it was meant for us! ? The conversion to sterling caused some problems at the cash desk, but I wasn't giving up!

Today, I have a dental appointment to have my replacement crown fitted. This has been postponed twice, due to being unwell and having problems with my mouth and throat, because of the biologics.
I'm dreading it, as my mouth and throat are giving me trouble again. Much to DH's delight, my voice has disappeared again! Every cloud.......

I hope the DDs are not suffering to badly after their treatment, good luck with any medical appointments and for those having a day out, enjoy!

baubles Thu 01-Sept-22 07:54:11

Good morning Mick, morning all from cool and bright South Lanarkshire.

Change of plans yesterday as a couple of friends were due to visit but one wasn’t well so we’ve postponed till next week. Instead I went to my knitting/crochet group, we’re doing poppies which will be used to decorate the town in November as well as starting on some Christmas things.

Today it’s Edinburgh to help DoutL, she’s on maternity leave so we’re not back to full on childminding but will collect one from nursery and one from school.

Hope all goes well today Harri.

Enjoy being with your family gM.

Your walking holiday sounds terrific brook.

Congratulations to your DGD Ash.

Have a great meet up Shazza and Grandmadinosaur.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.
