A later good morning from me, just home from church and enjoying my coffee.

A nephew’s visit home from Australia with his young family is providing a reason for a big family reunion this afternoon, I’m really looking forward to it, my children, grandchildren and so many nieces and nephews with their wee (and not so wee) ones all getting together, time to count blessings I think.

We’ll be over in your neck of the woods baubles hope the noise doesn’t disturb!?

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright warm Surrey where we are all having a relaxing day doing not much.
Yesterday went well….getting off the boat, actually finding taxis waiting and then catching trains to Surrey. I was surprised to find no passport checks, just collect your luggage and go. Today I am reading about long delays due to border checks at the Calais ferry terminal so it’s a tad puzzling.
The train timetables tomorrow for Avanti are changed and existing seat reservations cancelled. Rather than find myself in cattle truck conditions again I have re-booked in first class as I gather I can have the original ticket refunded. I see the Avanti boss has stepped down…

It’s an especially sad day to get through grandMattie, my thoughts are with you.

Mamaa good news your DH is home and being closely monitored he will hate going from no daily meds to a lot I’m sure. Really hope you get somewhere with the GP tomorrow most of us are finding it difficult now just to get basic appointments ? best wishes to your DH x

A bit late today, had to pop into nearby town to collect some Next bits and pieces. A gloomy grey day in Oxfordshire, still warm though.
I too have just purchased an airfryer Gingster so we must compare notes, so far its proving to be very good but it will take a bit of adaptation and some research.

My husband is home from the hospital- with enough new medication to stock a pharmacy- when he went in he wasn't taking anything and these are now long term. Being monitored closely by the cardiac team- will need to go back for an MRI at some point, deep joy!
Needs to contact GP tomorrow regarding this last weeks shenanigans- getting to talk to one and then making an urgent appointment could prove a trial of strength with how things are run at the surgery now, but fingers crossed eh?

Good morning everyone from a grey Northampton. I haven't read all the thread yet as I'm so late, so will catch up later with all your doings. Fell asleep in the armchair last night and woke up at 2.15am, so have only just got up.

I did read the bit where someone had ordered an air-fryer yesterday - funnily enough so did I! Been thinking about it for sges. I took the advice of a survey on Mumsnet, bought the one they recommended as entry level, suitable for 1 or 2 people. It arrives tomorrow.

Spent yesterday afternoon cutting the back grass which is in a terrible state after the drought; it's full of bare patches, and I'm uncertain of what to do with it - think I might just leave it and see what happens once we have had some rain. Also hacked back a giant buddleia, which seems to get bigger every year.

Off to the cinema this afternoon to see the sequel to Fishermans Friends which I shall enjoy with a glass of wine....

Off now to catch up on today's news - then to try on a dress which arrived yesterday from John Lewis; it was a bargain in the sale, and as I have another from the same range it seemed a good buy.

Good morning all from a grey day in Glasgow where no doubt, I will fouter around the house. I bought a wooden clothes rack with slatted shelves recently, ideal for a guest room/GD1’s room here. I still have a good amount of paint used for that room so I fancy the clothes rack in the same colour will look better than plain wood. It passes the time. ?

I highly recommend Menorca Grandmadinosaur We first holidayed there in 1979, staying in Binibeca. This was our annual holiday for years staying in different parts of the island. We always hired a car to get around, enjoying an evening meal in the capitol, Mahon. Many happy memories. Fingers crossed you can secure a booking. ? Just remembered, we always booked through an agent, Patricia Wildblood, no idea if she is still in business though.

GM we never have death anniversaries either. Our loved ones are always in our thoughts and hearts on any particular day. ?

Oh, poor Wonderful Wolfie kitty. Cuddles from me.

Good morning everyone from a soggy Co Armagh! I’ve been out in my dressing gown tying up plants and binning others , the rain is welcome but I don’t think it has done much to wet my pots after they were blown over
This time tomorrow I should be on the coach ( yes Marydoll) to Wexford . Nerves are getting the better of me , first thoughts were .. this time next week I’ll be home Whewww

Good morning Mick and all. The Angus coast is being battered by strong winds and heavy rain at the moment so not a bonny day.
Grandmattie . The closer we are to the person who has gone, the less need there is to mark the day, but for those slightly further back it gives them a focus for their grief in their otherwise busy lives. Good to hear how Iris is progressing!
Gingster what a lovely thing, your DGD doing tai chi with her dad. I remember once when I was in Lincoln visiting DS2, doing tai chi in their garden. Three year old little DGD was running in and out playing, and at one point her daddy asked her what granny was doing out there. "I'm not very sure," she said "but I think it's 'I'm a Little Teapot'"! Happy memories!
I'm exhausted by your long walk Brook - not something I could ever have envisaged doing, but the views along the way must have been spectacular! Enjoy your last couple of days.
Today is DS1's 55th birthday - he'll soon be as old as me!! He was away at a Regimental Association Dinner last night so I rather think today will be a quiet one for him. I think I may delay wishing him a happy birthday until much later!
A quiet day here too, coorying down and sheltering from the stormy blast. At one time I might have put the heating on for a while ........

Good morning everyone. Rather overcast this morning in the East Midlands and we have had a little rain overnight too I think. I slept in after a very restless night - I was wide awake at 2.15 this morning!
Finally managed to get the lavenders cut back yesterday, they look so much tidier now and the flower heads were dry so there was no more nectar for the bees.
