Before you all say “Who?” this is a man whose poems seem to perfectly encapsulate much of modern life.
I have just read this and it absolutely resonated with me
Hope it brings a smile!

Those have made me smile ☺

Thank you for the Brian Bilston poems.
I hadn't heard of him before, but, they remind me of the sort of poems Pam Ayres would write.

Thank you Maw for introducing me to Brian. I found this which I loved.

Excellent! By the way I’ve got untouched Christmas ones from ages ago somewhere safe, some first some second class….

Beware! You'll have to find them by January 2023, and the introduction of new bar-coded stamps. According to the Royal Mail website: Non-coded stamps - including Christmas stamps - will now only be valid until January next year.
However, they can be exchanged for the new ones through Royal Mail's Swap Out scheme, which opens on 31 March.

From RM site

Note: Special Stamps with pictures on and Christmas Stamps without a barcode will continue to be valid and don't need to be swapped out.

Thanks, Tizliz. That's obviously from a more up to date Royal Mail web page than the one I saw. Looks like we can relax...

Yup. That’s me. Countless pots of the same spice.

Spot on!

Granmarderby10 Mon 05-Sept-22 20:19:03

Bodach Thankyou for alerting me to that. I suppose I shouldn’t be so very surprised as it is the way of all things once thought of as “a given thing”, change for the sake of change etc.
I will set to and get rooting through those boxes and bags?

grandMattie Mon 05-Sept-22 15:25:01

So true! Thanks, Maw.

I follow him on Twitter and he almost always "nails it". Definitely the Poet Laureate of social media.

OH at the shop 'I don't think we have any sea salt, I'll get some'. Come to put it away and of course there's the largest jar of sea salt, which will surely last years, right there on the shelf. hmm

Grannybags Mon 05-Sept-22 11:06:28

Oh yes, that's me! ?

Squiffy Mon 05-Sept-22 10:37:32
