Good morning from a very soggy S Hampshire, a brief storm last night, heavy rain overnight and just now.
Fingers crossed Mick you get a less confused diagnosis soon.
grandMattie I’m pleased you feel a little better, gently does it.
Happy Birthday monk08 enjoy your day and this evening ???.
Had a good long lunch here with two friends yesterday, nothing beats a few hours of idle chatter with good friends.
Enjoy your day all ??

Sar53 Thu 08-Sept-22 08:02:51

Happy Birthday Monk08 we are the same age xx

Sar53 Thu 08-Sept-22 08:01:52

Good morning from Essex by the sea. The sun is trying to shine after a lot of rain last night, together with thunder and lightning.
A small food shop shortly ready for our few days away on the boat starting tomorrow. The last time this year.
Washing and packing when we return.
Fingers crossed for you Mick that, like others have said, it's a may.
Have a great Thursday everyone, much love xx

Marydoll Thu 08-Sept-22 08:01:45

Happy birthday monk.

Mick, I suggest you contact your GP and explain that you are unsure of what you have to do. You seem a bit confused about what is wrong and that is concerning.
Also, there will be clear instructions on the medications and when to take them. Make sure you read them carefully.
I was given a brief report of what they had found, with a diagram, pinpointing the areas of concern. Did you receive something like that?
I hope you get some clarification ASAP, for your peace of mind.

A wet start in West Oxfordshire today. We are off to Lincoln to visit DD1 and family, it is her birthday today too so lots of celebrations. DD2 is starting to emerge from the side effects of her final chemo treatment so we have much to be thankful for now.
Mick I can imagine yesterday was a bit of a day but try not to jump to conclusions, put it aside if you can and enjoy your day out, there's nothing you can do now until you get results.

brook2704 Thu 08-Sept-22 07:58:31

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry and bright start to the day, with a bit of blue sky amongst the clouds
Take it easy today mick and hoping the results of your tests are positive
I had a lovely day yesterday catching up with my friend and today I’m hoping to get out into the garden and do a tidy up
Wishing monk a very Happy Birthday, enjoy your special meal with the family later! ???
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Urmstongran

Did you get your liver function test results LLFL the other day? I know you were anxious about them.

I saw the GP in person the other day. I am having a multitude of tests done and will be speak to her next Monday about the results. She is also sending me for a bone density scan. She is being very thorough, mainly because I had stage one breast cancer five years ago and there is a 2% chance of a tumour somewhere. This is all to do with excess calcium.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 08-Sept-22 07:53:40

Good morning all from wet Harrogate
DH will be happy with the rain!
Hope the results from your procedure will be re-assuring Mick
Think it’s time for you to slow down and take care of you GrandMattie hope you feel better soon.
Today is my Sainsburies delivery day, and zooming with my sisters. Probably just potter about the house.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning all, I haven’t read through all your posts, but wanted to add a note to Mick n the hope he comes back to look at the thread.
Although I am not a health professional, I spent many many hours in the Gastro department of the Royal Free Hospital where DH had annual colonoscopies (sometimes even more frequent) and each time they revealed polyps. These, if left undetected CAN turn cancerous, but if removed at the right time, are fine. They will have removed any they saw and sent for biopsy. That is usually (99% of the time) enough action for the present. So until the biopsy results come back it is only a “may possibly” as with lumps in other places. Please do not fret unnecessarily. The fact that you have been given a/b’s suggests an infection possibly and the gastro tablets may be for something like ulcerative colitis (which DH had all his adult life)
If you are worried, ring a Dr or the IBD Nurse at the Gastro-Enterology department at the hospital. Or PM me if you like.
So, a clear day in N Bucks, but definitely Autumnal.
Arts Society this morning a lecture on Beatrix Potter in connection with the exhibition at the V&A which we are going to in early November.
Wishing you all a pleasant day with apologies for not reading everybody’s posts first!

Marydoll Thu 08-Sept-22 07:50:44

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where its 16°C, with rain forecast again!

I'm sorry to hear your news was worrying Mick, I have found the waiting for results is the worst part. I hope you do not have to wait too long as some on here have.
GM, I am sorry that things are not good for you just now.
Hoping that aggie's trip is going well.

Despite my assertion that I would have a quiet day yesterday, it was quite the opposite.
I made two lots of ice cream, went bramble picking behind our house, made bramble jelly, then batches of bramble and apple crumble, made with apples from my dwarf apple tree.
As I was prepping for bottling the jam, something terrifying happened. I reached into a low cupboard for a large Pyrex jug and it exploded into a million pieces in my hand.?
There was glass all over the kitchen, in the open cupboard, in the sink, on the cooker, all over the floor and even inside my sandals! I got such a shock. It took forever for the two of us to clear up. Some of the pieces were almost invisible to the naked eye.
Dinner was rather late last night!
I have absolutely no idea what happened, but I do know how lucky I am. I only had a few cuts in my hand, more like pin pinprick, it could have been so much worse. I was shaking.

Today, DH has offered to come and help with the bramble picking. I think he saw how wiped out I was yesterday, after over doing things again. More jelly making (the recipients, DH and SIL, hate the seeds) is on the agenda and I have beetroot to pickle, again for DH and SIL
Keeping busy takes my mind off the nagging pain and the worry of what, I expect will be difficult times ahead. I just take frequent breaks, (and some chocolate), when I feel iffy.
It's my way of coping. It's either that or sit and mope, over indulging in my foreign language dramas! However, I am often tempted!
In my defence, I have to say, my Turkish is improving, I now know three Turkish words, so you could say that it is an educational exercise. wink

Some parish admin is also on the cards today. Our parish actually comprises two parishes, but now they are splitting again. I'm trying to collate some paperwork for the transfer of information to the new parish priest. Basically, it consists of lots of messy handwritten sheets (not mine!), I do like a challenge!

GreyD, I'm sorry to hear that your journey was so challenging and scary, much worse than mine was, but you managed it. Well done! ?

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans. I'm off to read your posts and may be back!

Michael12 Thu 08-Sept-22 07:47:11

Update , think I may had problems understanding the specialist doctor , i have started to take the gastro tablets which is a 8 week course plus a 7 days anti biotic tablet .
I assume once I have done the tablet course a recheck to see what changes have occurred
Trouble I found was understanding the Doctor with a face mask on ,and accent as well .
Mick

Good morning from a damp Sefton. Still big puddles underfoot from yesterdays monsoonlike downpour.
We had a lovely lunch with our friends in a country pub. It was very busy....the food is good. Torrential rain on the way home which unfortunately got to my washing before I did. It's still out on the line, think I will ignore it for the time being & hope it dries before the next forecasted downpour. However the garden's looking a lot perkier.
Zumba Fitness this morning with real people. Zoom has been a godsend but a real life class is so much more fun than prancing round your lounge/kitchen/wherever on your own. Although the dog often tries to join in.
Hoping for some positive news for Mick.
Take care all.

baubles Thu 08-Sept-22 07:44:55

Good morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

I hope the result of your test is not what you think Mick and that you don’t have too long to wait to find out.

Off to the capital today to see DS and family. We’ll collect one from nursery and one from school and probably have a coffee in between times.

Happy birthday monk, enjoy your day.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Urmstongran Thu 08-Sept-22 07:40:33

Did you get your liver function test results LLFL the other day? I know you were anxious about them.

BlueBalou Thu 08-Sept-22 07:39:14

Happy birthday Monk, have a lovely day! ??
Fingers crossed Mick that things aren’t as serious as you fear.
A wet start here and I have every intention of being a #lazygran for a few days too GrannyGravy once I have finished tidying the downstairs and cleared the ironing pile ?
It’s a wet start here so soggy dog walk shortly- I am definitely not complaining about the rain, it’s so refreshing.
Have a lovely day everyone x

Urmstongran Thu 08-Sept-22 07:35:40

Many happy returns of the day to you monk! I’d have been in the same school year then as you & NannyJan - except that, as in the school days, Beechnut and I would, being August birthdays have just ‘caught you up’ on age during the school summer holidays only to return to school in September and everyone was being the next number up!

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 08-Sept-22 07:33:23

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Commiserations to those with health problems. I have to type up the minutes from last night’s WI meeting and circulate them. I am getting low on petrol - the cheapest garage in the area is a couple of miles away away so I’ll do that. Elder son, his partner and my granddaughter are coming after school tomorrow to stay over. I need to plan a menu, sort out their room etc. We haven’t seen them since July as they’ve been in Barbados for the summer. Of course I’ve always got bits of ironing to do and maybe a bit of baking. At lease I’m up to speed with homemade ice cream!

Gingster Thu 08-Sept-22 07:32:25

Good morning all and what a short sharp storm we had last night. Lots of lightning , a few claps of thunder, torrential rain but all over in under 10 minutes.

I’ve been awake since about 3, couldn’t get back to sleep so was up at 5.45.

I went with DD to pick up little gd from school. Mum hadn’t told her about the Beauty and the Beast show. When she got in the car she saw her B and the B dress. Her face was a picture ‘Oh my goodness - are we going to the show? She changed from her uniform and I dropped them off at the coach stop.
I hope all went well and they had a great time. ?

Today Dh is going out with his tennis friends for breakfast and he’s dropping me at my old pals for a coffee. They have played tennis together for 30 years and one of them has dropped out due to his Parkinson’s . He carried on as long as he could . ?.

*Mick I hope your tests results aren’t as bad as you fear. ?

ginny have a great time with your friends. It sounds wonderful. ?

A pleasant day to all ?

PollyDolly Thu 08-Sept-22 07:32:23

Good morning from an overcast East Midlands. We must have had some significant rain overnight as all the rooftops etc are very wet.
We are venturing out this afternoon as the TOB will pass through our community and we are going to cheer them on.
Have the best day possible everyone and take care in all you do.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 08-Sept-22 07:30:26

Happy Birthday Monk enjoy your family meal ???

NannyJan53 Thu 08-Sept-22 07:27:38

Crossed posts! Happy Birthday monk have a fabulous day flowers

I am 69 in just over a week!

NannyJan53 Thu 08-Sept-22 07:26:15

Good morning from a cloudy and grey Black Country. Where we had heavy rain showers on and off yesterday. One minute it was sunny and warm, the next a deluge!

Had a lovely long phone chat last night with a friend who lives in Lincs. We must have chatted for 90 minutes. I really miss her living near and our meet ups. I hope to visit for a weekend soon. My last planned visit in May had to be abandoned as I had Covid.

Off over to Mums this morning. Then we are heading into Wolverhampton to meet DS for lunch. He mainly works from home, but has meetings today, so taking this opportunity to catch up with him.

Then Mum has a Spec Savers appointment for her NHS hearing aids. Audiology in town didn't have an appointment available until next year shock

Hopefully have chance to mooch around the shops, although not a lot now as Debenhams, Beatties etc have closed.

Best wishes to all feeling unwell

monk08 Thu 08-Sept-22 07:23:46

Good morning all from another dull day in the Black country, we had heavy rain most of yesterday looks much the same today.
Mick fingers crossed things don't turn out to be to serious ?.
Today I'm 69 so we will meet the family after school for a meal.
In the meantime will star another book.
Welcome any newbies, safe travels those on the move and best wishes anyone celebrating. Virtual hugs where needed, enjoy your Thursday and may you all find some ?.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 08-Sept-22 07:23:15

Morning all

Please try not to worry until you have the results of your endoscopy Mick have an easy day.

Thunder, lightening and heavy rain here in S S Essex late evening yesterday, but it didn’t last for long.

Not sure what today will bring, I have an empty so I might just be a #lazygran

Have your best day folks ?‍♀️?

Urmstongran Thu 08-Sept-22 07:20:28

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Malaga. The sun is just rising and there’s a beautiful rosy tinge on the horizon. No plans for today, will decide later. Himself is still snoozing at present. Thank you for all the good wishes extended to us yesterday.

Mick that was a shock to read. It’s not clear from your post whether a doctor has actually said that to you or whether it’s your own assessment of the situation. I hope it’s the latter. Enjoy your day out and like others, I hope it’s just a ‘may’. I will keep my fingers crossed for you in the meantime.

I’ve been pondering whether or not to get a tiny tattoo when I go home. On the web space between my thumb and forefinger. (Can easily be hidden if I just sit my thumb next to my finger!). I will check out some designs on line today.

I’d like a tiny gecko as my reminder of all the holidays I enjoyed with my mum, her best friend and my aunt. All sadly dead now and I miss them all so much but I have many happy memories of our annual week there together - we did it for 17 years! Plus the 4 generations holiday we all enjoyed there in June to celebrate Himself’s 70th birthday is fresh in my mind & that was wonderful. Hmm. I shall think on it some more yet. There’s a tatt parlour up the road from us at home. He’s supposed to be excellent (been there years) but expensive. I’d only want a tiny one so I think my budget would stretch ....
