Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Off to have my roots touched up soon, don’t want a trim, quite like the length.
Contact lens check up yesterday, all ok and no change in my prescription, which is a bit complicated as I have lenses for reading music on stage and then distance lenses for everyday.
I was pleased to find the rude dragon on reception seems to have retired and a couple of young friendly people there instead. Waited to go to the car as there was a cloudburst and torrential rain.
What’s up with my cat? Jumps on me too early miaowing, I feed her, leave the door open, but she carries on pestering me…
Hope you have a good result from your test Mick. I’m awaiting an appointment for my gastric problems, ugh.
Thoughts to all with worries and hope you all have a good day.
Will read through later.

Good morning from a dull still morning in Carnoustie. Sharing dog care with family so she is off home until next week. Enjoy walks with her and she is good company. Decorator in and he is finishing today, looking forward to getting house back to normal. Mick endoscopy,s are not pleasant but have to be carried out. Take care as the waiting is the worst part for the results. Good luck. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a hot Mallorca.
Hope your test results are clear Mick, I don’t think the Doctors realise how upsetting it is to use the C word when you are still waiting for the results.
MrOops has booked a restaurant for this evening, he plotted the location and now finds that there are 4 with the same name dotted over about a 5 mile area, now we have to wait for a confirmation email to find out where they are!
Belated congratulations Urms enjoy your Anniversary Boxing Day.
My thoughts are with those who are not so well or are looking after loved ones.
Marydoll I had a huge Pyrex casserole dish that was very old it also shattered just after I had filled it with milk, sugar and rice for a pudding, the kitchen was covered in milk. Moral of the story is don’t trust old Pyrex.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a soggy Durham. Caught in sheet lightening and thunder last night walking DD2’s dogs, but home before the rain started. I had a poor night and woke several times feeling over heated - probably the dogs lying across me was to blame! Finally got my car back yesterday and a hefty bill - I hit a pothole a while back and shredded a tyre, then the wheel bearing went on the same wheel and now a broken spring on the same side - too much of a coincidence? Wouldn’t care, but I was going very slow as it’s on DD2’s road, but unavoidable due to parked cars.
A bit of food shopping today and a couple of emails to send.
Happy birthdays to those (younger) GNs celebrating. Mick I hope you can get some clarification of exactly what’s going on - try not to jump to conclusions.
gM - please take it easy.
Have a good day.

Good morning all from a soggy W Kent. Packing day today and off to Norfolk tomorrow for a break. Looking forward to a change of scene.
Happy Birthday Monk08
I should certainly have a word with the GP Mick, I know what you mean about the masks, they do make it difficult.
Marydoll what a strange thing to happen, I hope you are ok now.
Best wishes to all

A couple of photos of our day out yesterday.

aggie Thu 08-Sept-22 09:26:59

Good Morning everyone from a soggy Wexford , free day today , but there are some lovely small shops , so I might visit some if it dries up a bit
Yesterday was lovely in Waterford , so many historical things , the beautiful Cathedral ceiling is in the photo
After walking , visiting lovely museums , and a bit of retail therapy ( lots of sales on ) we all clambered back into the coach , but two ladies were missing , it took an hour before one looked at her phone and answered , they were waiting in the wrong place , ! Wonder why the didn’t notice that none of us were beside them , where they were was miles from the meeting place
We were late getting back, but all is well now
Home tomorrow , I have enjoyed the break , but I need a few days peace and quiet to get my equilibrium back

Good Morning from a very wet Hull.
I haven’t had time to fully read your news. But I’ll try later.
Just want to say Mick I’m sending my love it looked like you had a difficult day yesterday but I’m thinking of you for results and hoping all is well ?
Monk08 happy birthday to you ?

Thinking of everyone always??

HAZBEEN Thu 08-Sept-22 09:19:10

Good morning all!
I am off for my flu jab today. Because my GP surgery is right in the middle of the high street a little light shopping will also be on the cards! We are in a small town with just the main street of shops about 1/4 mile long but there are quite a few charity shops and bargain stores (like poundshops) as well as 3 small supermarkets and the usual coffee shops so a bit of a wander will not hurt. I live just off one end of the high street, the railway station is at the other.
I hope you will contact your doctor Mick for a clearer explanation about what is going on. I know what its like to not get the full facts and your mind always thinks the worst.
Hugs to all who need them, happy birthday Monk and take care everyone.

Kalu Thu 08-Sept-22 09:18:35

Good morning all from a much cooler Glasgow with grey skies. Looks like rain is due.

I got such a shock when you mentioned you may have cancer Mick. I sincerely hope this is not the case and also advise phoning your GP for clarification.
Fingers crossed your results are in your favour llof.
Happy Birthday monk ???

One or two phone calls to make then the day is my own to fouter about, busy doing nothing.

Best wishes to all for a good/better day.

BlueSapphire Thu 08-Sept-22 09:16:00

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but the sun is trying its best. Thundery showers forecast this afternoon. Hoping it clears up by the evening, as I have a rugby match to go to.

A lovely day out yesterday visiting the Weald and Downland Country Living Museum, home of the Repair Shop. Sadly not the Repair Shop itself is not open to visitors; they were filming yesterday, but could watch from a distance. We did see one of the 'repairers', Dom, working outside on a kayak. Spent a pleasant couple of hours exploring the site, exploring farm houses, buildings and machinery from mediaeval to Victorian times. The rain held off apart from one heavy shower at the end of our visit, and we were able to enjoy a picnic outside.

A Sainsbury's delivery shortly, then two dance classes after lunch, an early dinner then out to rugby with DD and DSon-in-law.

Happy birthday Monk! Have a lovely day.

Hope your test results are better than you fear Mick, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

harrigran Thu 08-Sept-22 09:10:16

Mick go and look at the paperwork that the endoscopy unit gave you when you left the department. They always present you with a printed copy of their initial findings and if they have taken a specimen for biopsy they will await histology report before contacting your doctor.
Antibiotics plus PPIs could mean that Hpylori is present.

hulahoop Thu 08-Sept-22 09:07:49

Happy birthday Monk? have a lovely day. It's pouring down here ,not sure what we will be doing today. Fingers crossed for your results Mike. Have a good day whatever you are doing.

EkwaNimitee Thu 08-Sept-22 09:04:10

And Happy Birthday Monk, still a young thing!

EkwaNimitee Thu 08-Sept-22 09:03:23

Good morning Mick and everyone from a grey Carlisle.
I got out in the garden yesterday morning and cleared out all the finished annuals including my prolific sweetpeas. As for my new shrubs and trees, most are settling in well but one or two have been given their marching orders and I am looking forward to a visit to the garden centre for their replacements.
Today I have a delivery from Tesco...I was surprised on Monday to be able to get a morning slot today. Are folk going back to actual shopping? I could but have gone off lugging a trolley load of stuff back home.
The rest of the day ought to be spent doing the serious admin I avoided yesterday by spending an afternoon editing my holiday photos.

I hope all goes well Mick, you've had some good advice upthread, so do see your doc if you need things made clearer.

Have the best possible day all.

Urmstongran Thu 08-Sept-22 09:00:48

Ah LLFL it’s good to hear your GP is being so thorough. I do hope all your results reassure you.

Happy Birthday Monk have a wonderful day ??

Taichinan Thu 08-Sept-22 08:35:42

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Glad all went off OK yesterday - and remember the doctors tend to paint a 'worst case' scenario these days so let's hope all is not as bad as you fear.
It's another grey, foggy morning on the Angus coast. It looks brighter out to sea so let's hope that spreads inland. Yesterday's grey start turned into a lovely day - true September weather. I took my friend on a lovely country route to a village snuggled at the foot of one of the Glens where there is a lovely tea shop renowned for its home baking. She loved every minute of it - and so did I!
Tai chi this morning, so we'll see who turns up. Numbers have been very small since the return following Covid restrictions. I used to have 15-20+ at each of three classes but I have now amalgamated the classes into one. The hope is that not all who usually attend will do so at the same time - so we'll see how this goes. I've kept an extra hour's hall booking for the time being in case numbers increase again.
I had a text from dancing DGD yesterday evening asking me to join her and her sister for lunch on Saturday in Dundee. How the 'little ones' (both taller than me!) have become adults seemingly overnight! Anyway, you can guess my reply! My niece is going to join us too so we'll have a giggle I'm sure.
I haven't time this morning to refer to everyone, so I'll just wish a relaxing day to the sleepless and a good day to all x

Pittcity Thu 08-Sept-22 08:35:23

Happy Birthday Monk08 ???

harrigran Thu 08-Sept-22 08:16:46

Good morning from a foggy NE.
We had a thunderstorm last night with torrential rain, I unplugged the computers but carried on watching a film on TV.
SIL helped me cook dinner, we had lamb steaks, baby potatoes in their skins, leeks in cheese sauce and green beans. A glass of red ?.
Today is GD's 17th birthday, I will not see her as she starts college but we will celebrate at the weekend.
DS is coming to spend the day with me, we will watch a couple of episodes of Shetland and have a relaxed day.
Brave of you to go out on the bus after your procedure Mick, I am still suffering the after effects of mine from last week.
Have a good day and dodge the downpours.

dragonfly46 Thu 08-Sept-22 08:14:53

Good morning from a damp Leicestershire.

Dentist this morning. My lovely dentist is fitting me into his busy day to look at my chipped tooth.

I agree with Mary that you should contact your GP as they will have been sent the results. You will then get a clearer picture. It sounds more like an infection as you have antibiotics.

Happy Birthday Monk.

Nannagarra Thu 08-Sept-22 08:13:59

A second good morning from Sefton.
Early start to get car in for MOT. Meeting friends this afternoon for coffee, cake and catch up.
Happy birthday monk; sending best wishes Mick; thoughts to all.
