Its dry but dark outside here in brackley .
I did a bus trip to Bicester yesterday , not all that busy , and returned to see the annual fair in brackley being dismantled , it would have opened on Thursday through to today , but with situation closed Thursday early due to the announcement.
Today , I am off on a one night Mystery trip I do now the location as its a crab theme its Cromer , and calling at Peterborough on return tomorrow .
In the case of the coach trip I did check to see if was going to take place ,and the answer was yes.
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a bright S Hants, quick trip back from Oxford where we had a good break. The walking tour yesterday was really interesting, boy did we walk, fortunately it stayed dry. We had a look round the Egyptian exhibition at the Ashmolean, only touching the surface of this vast museum. We’ll go back again as there’s far more to explore.
Oops friends of my daughter in Mallorca were escorted off the beach yesterday because of a storm, two people earlier had died from lightning strikes.
Enjoy your trip Mick.
Have a peaceful day all ??
Stilllearning, what wonderful news!
Good morning everyone from a rather overcast Northampton; hoping it's not going to rain as I have a cinema ticket for this afternoon. Must check to see whether it's still on.
Had a little shopping trip out to our local retail park yesterday - as I was about to get off the bus on the way back home the heavens opened, but luckily I had my umbrella. The washing I'd left on the line was soaked so had to spin it again and dry indoors.
Very impressed with King Charles' speech, and watched the service from St Paul's which was very moving. So lovely to see the general public in the church, especially the babes in arms.
About to watch the Proclamation - I remember watching the last one in my home town in 1952 when I was 6 years old.
Have a pleasant weekend, everyone.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good Morning Mick and everyone from a very wet Hull. It’s very bright but raining.
Mick enjoy your coach trip.
Stilllearning that is such lovely news about your half sister. I am estranged from a half brother and a half sister. Maybe one day things will change. A lot of it is me because as my other sister says ‘you get on the wrong side of Shazza that’s it for life’ but perhaps life is too short as they say.
I’m going across to DDs this morning to have cuddles with the GDs it’s just what I need. Trying to make sense of the last half of the week we’ve had with one thing and another.?
Tonight we are gathering with friends for a takeaway and drinks so that will be nice.
Enjoy your day everyone and thinking of those struggling with stress and illness??
Good morning, and it's a sunny one at last on the Angus coast! We have had some glorious autumnal days, but with such grey, damp miserable starts of late. We too had a glorious sunset last night Greyduster, but I was on the phone with DS2 who was (no doubt through gritted teeth and eyes raised to heaven
) talking me through regaining my email 'deliveries' and I was concentrating very hard on that even though he might not have thought so. We succeeded, by the way. I was really concerned because my train tickets are on there for my journey down to Lincoln on the 20th. Oh for the Good Old Days of tickets in purses! Somebody said they thought Monday 19th was going to be the day of The Funeral? I have fingers crossed for that as I'm worried that if it's on the 20th trains might not be running.
That's lovely about your half-sister making contact again after so long Stilllearning. A good advertisement for keeping doors at least ajar.
Now I must go and get ready to go to Dundee to meet DGDs 1 and 3 for lunch. Have a good day everyone and safe travels to the travellers x
Nothing planned today ,it was very wet at times yesterday with some thunder and lightening thrown in we went to a local market got some Manchester tart which was very good,it was the only pudding at school that I really y enjoyed. Have a good day whatever you are doing.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The biblical rain has stopped so I'll hang out a load of washing. I am still unwell so a df is bringing me a covid test kit. It's more of a heavy cold though probably caught on the flight.
The Queen's body is to be lying in state in St Giles.but I think I would prefer to remember her travelling in the golden coach along the Royal Mile in 1977 when we turned out to wave.
What a lovely surprise Stilllearning.
That wiring looks frightening Urms.
Have a nice weekend everyone.
Good morning all from a sunny autumnal day in Glasgow.
Our meet up with DH’s consultant yesterday went very well, so pleased with his progress, she has suggested he is a good candidate for a hands free speaking valve. We popped in to our local M&S on the way home to buy a few bits and cake to celebrate.
Enjoy your meet up baubles.
I am so pleased to hear your good news Stilllearning
Not much on the cards today, quite a bit of which will be tidying up in the garden with essential coffee breaks.
Best wishes for a good day to all.
That is wonderful news Stillearning.
That’s such good news stilllearning, you kept the door open and eventually she came in.
Morning all
Odd sky here in S E Essex, blue at the front of the house, grey and cloudy at the back.
We are off to some friends today for a late lunch, I shall be driving home so DH can have a drink with his pals.
The Imp has enjoyed his first week at pre-school, it has worn him out though
Have a good day whatever your plans ?♀️?
Good morning all from the Black country where its another dull start to the day.
Mick enjoy your non mystery tour.
NannyJan enjoy your day, we are planning to meet the family at PollinNations tomorrow if the weather is ok.
Haven't read through everyone's news yet full English calling so will catch up later.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed. Have a lovely Saturday and may you all find some ?.
Maw, yes, same diocese, about2 miles down the road, near Clifton. And the girls will go to the same schools and SiL to his Bristol Uni job. Just change of scenery and house for DD.
Urms, you should see the wiring in India. It is a miracle there aren’t fewer fires and electrocutions!
Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
I feel a sadness with the death of HM, but it’s like a new beginning with a new monarch and a new Parliament.
Have started looking at new bathrooms- where aghast at how much they could cost for such a tiny room. Will maybe try Homebase or B&Q.
DD2 and DGS called round yesterday. DGS immediately had the house looking like he’d played in it all day. May see them again today
Have the best day possible folks
Morning from sunny S Lanarkshire, still cool but should heat up as the day goes on.
I had such a happy day yesterday. Eight years ago my half sister estranged herself from most of the family. I had kept in touch (one way) over the years, with occasional texts which were never acknowledged but out if the blue I received a message a couple of weeks ago saying she was going to be in the area and would I like to meet for a coffee.
I was, as my children say, ‘nevacited’ but it was a lovely meeting, just ready to move on. I am so pleased and content this morning.
Wishing everyone the best day possible???
Good morning from N Bucks where I can say actually it feels cool for the first time in weeks! Winter draws on
Funny how little yet so much has changed in the last 36 hours isn’t it? I was very impressed by the King’s moving address yesterday evening and by the way he and Camilla greeted the crowds of well wishers before they walked into the Palace - looking, I thought, like a rather lonely couple.
So a silver lining to a sad situation Grandmattie , how nice that you can now travel to Bristol. Final services in a parish are always emotional. I must have missed where she is moving to, is it the same Diocese?
After too much TV in the last couple of days, and no doubt more to come, I must at least attempt to link it with some ironing.
I hope Mick enjoys the trip to Norfolk and wish everybody a pleasant day.
Good morning all from
East Yorkshire.
We had a lot of rain here too yesterday. We had planned to go to York and although I wasn’t keen following the news we decided to still go. In the end I was pleased we did. The shopping mall was very quiet understandably and was an escape from the deluge we’d had when in the city itself.
No plans for today but I have things to do in the house.
The men here are also not too happy about a footy free weekend ?
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy
I’ll probably be taking DGD to her dance class this morning and then a bit of shopping in town later. Also I’m hoping it stays dry today so I can get some washing done and a few jobs in the garden
Have a lovely meet up baubles and everyone else too meeting friends and family today
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning from yet another dull & damp start to the day here in Sefton. It usually perks up later.
No plans for today. Still trying to tidy up the garden in between these torrential downpours but not actually making much headway. Just noticed it's brightening up already. Could be a good outside day after all.
Take care. Have a good day.
Good morning from a dull and damp NE.
Today we are going for lunch in Durham to celebrate GD's 17th birthday, my sister and BIL will pick me up on the way past.
Yesterday was a day of sunshine and showers so no outdoor activities took place.
Went to bed early as TV was a bit repetitive, didn't go to sleep any earlier though.
Have a good weekend.
Greyduster
Good to see you back, Corner!
Same here!
Good morning, nothing much happening here today.
It rained on my washing yesterday but it sooned dried again in the sun.
Picking up the grand dog tomorrow so that will keep me busy!
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
