A very foggy start here in West Oxfordshire, it seems very autumnal. We spent the day in the garden yesterday, clearing the greenhouse, taking geranium cuttings and cutting the grass. Today will be an easier day, a dog walk as usual and some cooking and baking. The blackberries are so plentiful in the hedgerows and the nearby apple tree is laden, so I shall enjoy foraging.
Wishing you all a peaceful day.

Morning Mary ?

Pittcity Sun 11-Sept-22 08:04:38

Good morning from misty Colchester. We had quite a bit of rain on and off yesterday. Still warm though.
Laundry and shopping as DH is home from a week away. We will walk the ten minutes to the town hall this afternoon to hear the mayor proclaim the new King.
A roast dinner tonight.
Love to all ? x

Good morning from a misty South Bucks.

Your patchwork is just lovely grandMattie.

NannyJ in the 1960s I used to work in Ludgate Hill, overlooking one of the canals. It was overgrown, dirty and unused. What a transformation when a few years back when I visited Birmingham with my WI.

I don’t know about you but I keep having tears run down my face at the passing of our late Queen. I never imagined life without her. ?

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow.
Thanks Pants for opening up, Mick was on a trip yesterday and if was he was on an overnighter, he won't post, he never does. I hope that is the reason.

After a quite day pottering yesterday, which did lift my spirits, I have a busy one today. I realised I would normally have been in my beloved Rome this week, probably the reason for feeling so low.
Im off to Mass, mainly because I want to corner some parishioners for volunteer duties and to finalise some paperwork with others.
I know I shall enjoy this social, event very much.

Also, intend to take home an antique set of water and wine cruets, which have become damaged. That repair will keep me sitting down for a while. ?
It's a long time since I have done any repairs. I enjoy doing things like that, including restoring a large statue from a Nativity scene, which had its head and hand broken off! ? (Sorry, St Joseph!).

In the afternoon, we plan to go up to DD's to pick apples ( I'm going to be very busy) and liberate the final plant ( a mini Christmas tree) and a stone bird bath minus its bowl. I know where I can get a replacement and DD doesn't want it.
I have been advised to bring my slippers, because DD has new carpets.
Now the boot is on the other foot, she never bothered about my carpets! ?

Baubles, I was glad to hear that you had a good day. DH and I have tickets for A pie, a play and a pint at Òran Mór, so I intend have a wander around the West End with DH, who will be a captive audience, as I will be the designated driver!

Have a good day folks, what ever your plans.

Good morning all from cloudy Harrogate
Hope you are enjoying your mystery weekend Mick
Yesterday looked at bathroom suites in Bathstore and B&Q. It just gets more confusing. I’d be quite happy leaving it as it is, but DH has made up his mind he wants it replaced!! He also wants to go to Scarborough to visit his sister but a blind which should have been replaced 10 days ago has not materialised, I’m reluctant to go anywhere leaving a bare window open to the public!! Anyway it’s church this morning.
Have the best day possible folks

Morning all

Misty here in S E Essex.

We had a lovely day yesterday with good friends, managed to stay in the garden until gone 7pm. Lots of laughter, good food and reminiscing.

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country, with an Autumnal nip in the air.

Had an interesting visit to Birmingham yesterday with my friend. Wander round PoliNation, then lunch by the canal. Mooch round shops, coffee and then train home. A pleasant day.

Zumba at the gym this morning, then a relaxing afternoon reading my book.

You are so talented grandMattie that looks lovely.

Hope Mick is ok

Have a pleasant day everyone

Good morning from a brightening Sefton. The hazy clouds are clearing & it looks like it's going to be a lovely warm & sunny day.

DH's birthday tomorrow so a family lunch in a local pub/restaurant is planned. GD1 has just started school so looking forward to hearing all about it.
Made some inroads into the garden yesterday. It's looking a lot tidier but gaps to fill where plants couldn't be saved.

Have the best day you can.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 11-Sept-22 07:38:58

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Probably a quiet day today. Next week looks a bit hectic. A day of reading the papers, preparing a simple lunch and that’s it really.

cornergran Sun 11-Sept-22 07:37:27

Morning All our corner of Somerset is bucking the trend, no mist, just a clear sky.

Quiet one for us. Admin catchup for me and I think a day with a book for Mr C.

Hope Mick is enjoying Cromer. Love the sound of your trip bluesapphire. Take care everyone. Hope a good enough Sunday for us all.

BlueSapphire Sun 11-Sept-22 07:33:09

Good morning everyone from a misty Northampton. Up early this morning as I am off on a jolly to the Norfolk Broads, and being picked up at 7.45. Having a steam train ride and a boat trip, and some free time in Wroxham. Weather is supposed to be ok.

Have a good day everyone.

grandMattie Sun 11-Sept-22 07:32:41

Oh, me too, Bigbertha and radio 3 as well. Love music without the inane chatter or discordant modern stuff!

BigBertha1 Sun 11-Sept-22 07:29:53

Good Morning from misty East Cheshire. Really enjoying the lovely peaceful music playing on Classic FM since Thursday evening.

dragonfly46 Sun 11-Sept-22 07:26:33

Good morning from a misty Leicestershire.

Meeting DD today to pick up granddoggy.

Have a good day everyone.

grandMattie Sun 11-Sept-22 07:19:51

Good morning from a bright E Kent. It was beautiful when I opened the curtains with the oranges and gold of dawn in the east and the pinks and blues of the setting full moon in the west.
I’m going to the early service in a minute, then have got an empty. Mist likely, I’ll do some assembling if my patchwork. They are just laid out for aesthetics at the moment.
Carpe diem/horam. ????❤️

GrandmasueUK Sun 11-Sept-22 07:15:48

Good morning all. I've been waiting for someone to open up today. Isn't Mick on a jolly to Cromer? I had a reaction to my painkillers last night and was itching all over, so haven't slept. I might just try and get a few zzzz for a while. Have a good day everyone.

Susan56 Sun 11-Sept-22 07:14:10

Good morning from Staffordshire where we are celebrating my mums 90th birthday.

I think Mick is on a Mystery tour? although he knew where he was going!

Have a good day all???

baubles Sun 11-Sept-22 07:10:27

three grans!!

baubles Sun 11-Sept-22 07:09:30

Good morning Pant, thanks for opening up. I hope Mick is just having technical difficulties.

We three grand had a splendid day yesterday, we bimbled around the west end of Glasgow for eight hours. I highly recommend the John Byrne retrospective at Kelvingrove if any of you Scottish Gransnetters can get there before it ends next Sunday. A wonderful exhibition.

I’ll have a quiet day today, perhaps pop over to DD’s for an hour if they’re going to be at home.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Pantglas2 Sun 11-Sept-22 07:03:07

Not sure where Mick is but thought I’d open up while I’m awaiting the chamberpot ☕️ - catch you all later....?
