Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry and still dark here in Brackley.
My weekend coach trip was ok , one the way up there to Cromer , apart from services near Peterborough , we had a couple of hours in Sheringham.
Yesterday we did not leave Cromer until mid afternoon, coming back slightly different, skirting Norwich and down A11 , then A14 with a service stop near Cambridge .
Health wise had a few beers , medication working ,and stomach seems to have settled .
Take Cae,
Mick

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A grey start in South Yorkshire but it seems to be brightening a little. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Norfolk, Mick. I love Sheringham. I got unintentionally involved with the garden yesterday where one job seemed to drag me into another, and I suffered for it later with a very painful evening. Today I have no plans other than ironing.
GM my mother knitted socks, and I had to wear them!☹️
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from an overcast Black country no sign of the sun yet.
Yesterday spent with family at Polination, so lovely all the flowers and plants. Would like to go of an evening when its lit up, perhaps try and work my charm on DH to persuade him ?
Little one starts nursery today he has the same teacher as his brother, she's in for a shock he is not as quiet and compliant.
Ironing to do then carry on with my book.
Enjoy your Monday and may you all find some ?.

Good morning all from wet Harrogate. Had a quiet day yesterday after church. Watched the cortège, it reminded me of the time spent in Aberdeen. I was driving along the North Deeside Road towards the city and was stopped by the police. The Royal car appeared, carrying the Duke of Edinburgh on his way from Dyce to Balmoral. I was held up for about 10 mins. It is lovely up there.
Is there no end to your talents GrandMattie I haven’t knitted socks since school?
Norfolk is a beautiful area to visit Mick and Bluesapphire glad you enjoyed your trip
Hope you soon feel better Marydoll and cornergran
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning Mick and everyone. I'm sitting here basking in warm sunshine (in the garden room, not outside!) There won't be many more chances until next March as this room is north facing, so I'm making the most of it.
I did my washing and hung it out yesterday afternoon as the weather improved and as we were forecast rain for today! Once I switched the TV on after lunch yesterday I was glued to the screen until the coffin was removed into Holyrood Palace. I joined it in Dundee, just after it had passed Dancing GD's flat, and from there on I was hooked as it was all home territory, full of memories. At one point - for about 12 years - we lived not far from the Forth Bridges and I worked in Edinburgh. Only two bridges in those days of course! Anyway, all lovely memories, both of my own life and that of the late Queen. Will anyone else have difficulty with the National Anthem I wonder? I have a feeling I'll be singing God Save the Quing for sometime.
Nothing much planned for today, just some paperworky type stuff and ironing.
Enjoy the heat, Ash! This is yo-yo time of year when it comes to what to wear - winter one day, summer the next. Not quite sure what to pack for Lincoln next week! Sorry to hear of all the poorly grans. I actually think I may have had Covid last week, although I tested negative. I had a temperature, couldn't keep awake and had no appetite. I didn't suspect Covid until I read that diarrhoea was a symptom in those vaccinated and boosted ...... Luckily I didn't see anyone until the day before my quarantine would have been over, so no harm done I hope.
I'm sorry your DD is feeling so poorly Gingster. Such a dreadful time for you all.
Enjoy your 'quiet' day Marydoll.
Lovely photos BlueSapphire.
I'm glad you were able to enjoy your Mystery Cromer trip Mick and that you're feeling so much better.
Now for another cup of coffee in the sun before I get moving. Have a good day everyone x

Good morning from an overcast NE.
SIL came after lunch yesterday and we spent a few hours in the garage sorting and rearranging in the hope that we can get the garden furniture and parasol in for the winter.
We were quite hungry by 7pm so we had an easy meal of steak, cooked perfectly with just a hint of pink and served with mashed potato, carrots and green beans. I had a dollop of black truffle mustard with my steak. We had a nice glass of red as a reward for our hard work. We finished the evening watching the best bits of the proms on iplayer.
I think I will have a quiet day as the rest of the week is going to be busy.
Have a good day.

Good morning from an overcast south Hants where I’m hoping to get the bedlinen dry! ?

Lovely weekend spent seeing all of our AC and GC. Hopefully having the leak fixed in the utility room today and then sorting out the room afterwards (again!?)
Have the best day you can.
Hugs and ? for you all x

Good morning all from a strange grey Algarve. The forecast says that the rain will stop in 52 minutes, given that it hasn’t started yet I think that’s doubtful!

I haven’t read all the posts yet but see that several of you are poorly. I hope you all have as good a day as possible.

Mapleleaf Mon 12-Sept-22 08:49:15

Good morning all,

As Greyduster says, it’s a bit grey here in South Yorkshire, with spots of drizzle every so often - I’m not sure what it’s going to do.

Coffee morning today, then some ironing after doing the holiday washing yesterday.

Had a good session in the garden yesterday, just tidying up and dead heading. Things are beginning to have that autumn look now, with some flowers looking past their best and others beginning to come into their own glory.

I hope you all have the best day possible, and those of you feeling under the weather, I hope you improve as the day wears on.

Take care everyone.

PollyDolly Mon 12-Sept-22 09:02:35

Good morning from a cloudy East Midlands; it is dry at the moment but apparently rain is forecast locally.

My mobility is improving slowly and I am back at the hospital later this week. I can cook and wash up etc and my lovely OH is doing a sterling job in tackling the heavier tasks.

Have the best day possible everyone - take care in all you do.

Urmstongran Mon 12-Sept-22 09:04:16

No Matt.

Good morning everyone from sunny Malaga ? where it’s hot already!

“3 more sleeps” till we go home. I shall miss this glorious weather. Himself will actually be up in Wester Ross three weeks today then two weeks after that we fly back here for a month. Yay!

I’ve started another novel on my Kindle. “Tangerine”. Set in Tangiers in 1956.

The photo was taken in our local tapas bar yesterday. I wasn’t sure about ‘sweet with salty’ snacks when we first used to come out here - jelly beans, mini haribo or sugar jellies in with salted mixed nuts or Bombay mix - but I love the taste now (as my non-existent waistline will testify).

Good morning all from soggy South Lanarkshire.

Glad you enjoyed your trip *Mick+.

Did anyone notice the tractor salute to the Queen’s cortège by the farmers? Very touching.

We visited DD yesterday. Oh my what a state their house is in with all the building work going on. The children don’t seem to be phased by living in a building site but I think their parents are beginning to wonder if it was such a good idea to have so much work done at once. Too late to do anything other than keep going though.

No real plans so I’ll see what I feel like doing as the day goes on.

Have a good day everyone.

Oopsadaisy1 Mon 12-Sept-22 09:30:22

Good morning from another sunny day in Mallorca.
Thank goodness for the pool, it’s hot, hot, hot.
So another lazy day reading books and trying not to eat too much. Ha!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a wet West York's, deciding what to do has plans cancelled due to weather ☔.Have a good day whatever you are doing.

Auntieflo Mon 12-Sept-22 09:55:00

Good Morning Mick, Annie and all. Yesterday we went to DD and SIL for lunch. She does cook an exceedingly good roast pork, and the crackling was the best I have ever had.

Watched most of the long drive from Balmoral to Holyrood, and took my proverbial hat off to the drivers, motor cyclist outriders and of course the passengers, for their cast iron bladders.
I was 10 when The Queen's coronation took place, and yes, it will be such a change to remember to say The King.

I had a worry that after Thursday's shenanigans with the car, that it would play up, but , bless her heart, she behaved impeccably.
I will try and get into the garden today and cut down all the lavender. It has been great for a good few years, but I am. beginning to think I would like a change. Still, the bees do love it.
BlueSapphire, years ago when DH was teaching in Norfolk, I had a boat trip on the Broads. I was the only one on the boat and had a commentary all to myself. It was wonderful.
All this talk of sock knitting, makes me think that I should do some with two skeins of yarn that were gifted to me recently. But, I don't wear socks and really want to find something else to knit, but have had no inspiration. ( I also used to wear the socks mum knitted, to school. Mm).
Best wishes to the DD's that are undergoing chemo. Also to PollyDolly, who sounds as though she has been quite unwell.
Don't go overdoing things Marydoll you need a gentle day.
Have a good day one and all.

HAZBEEN Mon 12-Sept-22 09:57:29

Good morning all!
Late on parade and I missed posting over the weekend. Problems with our internet but it seems ok at the moment.
A quiet weekend and probably a quiet day today. I am waiting for a call from the GP to discuss my test results (x-rays etc) to see where we go regarding my knees, hip and shoulder.
I havent read the thread yet so will go back and do that now. In the meantime hugs to all in need and keep safe everyone.

Good morning everyone from a damp Co Armagh, I’m wearing out the chair in front of the tv these days !

ginny Mon 12-Sept-22 10:54:23

A late good morning from a bright N. Bucks.
Had a lovely weekend away with the crafty girls. So much fun and laughter.
Have been up since early on. Washing on the line, chocolate cake made and some shortbread. All ready for visitors tomorrow.
This afternoon start a 5 week watercolour colour course locally. This evening I start a 12 week live on line drawing and painting course.
? for all feelings poorly.

Taichinan Mon 12-Sept-22 11:24:03

Auntyflo they stopped off at Brechin Castle for about 45 minutes - half way point. Never mind their bladders, they were probably grateful to stand up and move about as well!

Zetacatty Mon 12-Sept-22 11:57:21

Good morning. It’s five to twelve so officially it’s still morning. Just sat down to catch up. I hope everyone has a good week. At least the weather is nicer than expected, but I don’t know how long it will last. Xxxx

Anniebach Mon 12-Sept-22 11:59:02

Good morning Auntyflo and all x
