The funeral and covid

I have no doubt that there will be an upward surge. I have not noticed many people in the long queues and crowds actually wearing masks either.
I have poor mobility and there is no chance that I would be able to travel to London let alone stand in a queue for hours on end to pay my respects - something that I can do close to home by signing a book of condolence and taking moments of quiet reflection.

I said to the same to my DD yesterday. It’s a given, I think,.

Yes it crossed my mind when the crowds started to gather. The sight of King Charles and all the senior royals chatting close up and shaking hands with large numbers of the public made me uneasy. They’ve also been at several indoor ceremonies.

Schools are back so there's bound to be an autumn surge.

How many people will be going to see the funeral, do you think?
I have no idea.

As many as attend festivals? More?

Yes, I thought that it but there have been lots of events this summer with crowds.
A local care home is locked down again.

It's been on my mind for a while, so we shall see, I suppose.

Thankfully we arent in that go where you want/nope, stay indoors/ phase, still.

That is certainly a consideration. I wish I was going, my heart says yes and my head says no. I'm having my Covid booster next week so another reason not to go.

I hadn't thought of that, until you mentioned, MissA.
I would be surprised if there wasn't.

My neighbours have Covid, but you wouldn't know it, they are behaving as if they haven't got it.
In my opinion, some people have become blasé.

I am certain of it.

Do you think the sheer volume of crowds is going to result in an upward surge, what with all the travelling and so on?
