In yesterday’s coverage from Windsor she appeared to be walking with quite a marked limp/odd gait and was wearing flat ‘sensible’ shoes. Has she had a hip or knee replacement I wonder?

Mind you, I did see Tony and Cherie almost running when they were entering, they positively galloped along as if they wanted to get to the front of the queue then stopped to talk to another couple. It made me laugh to see them!

I wondered if Sarah Brown looked awkward as she was wearing a short dress when most of the other ladies had gone for long or mid length ones.

I was wondering who’d done Kate, Meghan and Zara’s make up. I can’t believe they do it themselves; it was immaculate apart from one day when I thought Kate had overdone the blusher. And yes, when I heard that some people had been seated in the cathedral and chapel for ages before the service even started it made me feel quite panicky loo wise.

i think most catholics in uk and europe are not averse to using contraception.
cherie blair has said it was the queen wot done it, or at least the routines of the royal household.
on going to balmoral the first time with TB, she was shocked on entering their room, to find that all their bags had been unpacked while they were downstairs with the queen.
everything had been unpacked including what she described as her contraceptive device, which had been placed in their bathroom.
she was so embarrassed that the next year on going to balmoral, she didn't dare bring the device; and hey presto, little leo arrived 9 months later.

Sorry, that was in answer to Pantglas2

No, I don’t know much about what she does with her time, and nor do you.

Lulu12 Tue 20-Sept-22 23:06:28

Agree. Anne has always been fit and slim never seen her overweight.

I wasn't being horrible about women. I was being compassionate blush

Oh dear, not much hope for me, then, JaneJ! grin I’ve had four babies, with 21 years between first and last, who was born when I was in my 40’s.

I didn’t realise CB was the same age as me (well, nearly - I’ll 68 this weekend), I though she was older, although I also thought TB was younger than me. confused I feel quite sprightly in comparison. ?

JaneJudge Tue 20-Sept-22 22:19:06

Oh I just meant because she had birthed quite a few children, one in her 40s? and wasn't the last baby quite hefty...mind you it was ages ago and I have made myself sound like a right idiot but I think at the time the media said they'd accidentally had another baby because of Catholicism = no contraception.
I do think having lots of children can age you sad I am most probably projecting again as I think all my children have aged me smile

It's pure luck and your genes. I have friends my age and younger who have had double hip replacements others who have had knees done. They were all walking badly until their op. I suppose Cherie may be waiting for one. I haven't had anything done- I'm lucky.
Did anyone notice she was chatting away to George Brown?
Oh and what about Tony's comb over? Centre parting then a bit to cover the bald spot on either side!!!

I don’t suppose for one minute that Cherie would be waiting for a hip replacement. Despite their good old socialist principles Tony, like many of his Labour compatriots, wasn’t averse to a bit of private healthcare when he required it.

Janejudge what has being ‘Catholic’ got to do with her gait? Don’t get it - I’m a bit slow

JaneJudge Tue 20-Sept-22 22:10:43

Nothing wrong with her academic career Jane let’s not pretend any of it was physical - as Anne’s was, to her obvious benefit in her latter years.

childbearing and giving birth can hardly be describe as not being physical but I am going to be controversial now, I don't think having lots of children is kind on women's bodies either. I know Cherie was Catholic too, so maybe God has had a hand to play in her gait

I think women who horse ride and stay slim have amazing core strength btw, might be why Princess Anne is so strong

yes she always had an excellent seat.

Pantglas2 Tue 20-Sept-22 21:59:10

Don’t agree blossoming. Anne obviously hasn’t stopped her exercise regime, Cherie has - I’d bet the farm on it! Would you?

GrandmasueUK Tue 20-Sept-22 21:54:22

I’d be really bothered about needing the loo and having to hold it for that amount of time. There seemed to be quite a few people of a ‘certain age’.

Blossoming Tue 20-Sept-22 21:54:12

That’s rather unkind Pantglas2.

Ooh! I have a medal from the last 5K I ran when I was still able to do such things! I’m going to wear it next time I go to any formal events grin

I'll wear mine if you wear yours smile

I on't think anyone can accuse Cherie Blair of being lazy. She had how many kids and an amazing career of her own!

Pantglas2 Tue 20-Sept-22 19:59:55

I think the message was about a lifelong exercise habit enhancing your already excellent genes folks ...stop making excuses for laziness and overindulgence!

NotTooOld Tue 20-Sept-22 18:10:13

Yes, I noticed Cherie was not walking well but I doubt she's 'waiting' for a hip op. I certainly would not be if I had their money. I felt sorry for Sarah Brown too. She looked very uncomfortable as she walked into the Abbey. And, yes, I admire Princess Anne. It's a hell of a walk she had to do and she's already spent the last few days escorting her mother's coffin. I hope husband Tim is a nice bloke who looks after her. He's taller than I imagined. Mike Tindall and Zara look good together. I bet he's a good dad. Oh, hark at me. What do I know about any of them really. grin
I seem to have gone off topic. Sorry.

Well if we are going to be shallow wink I was a bit amused by the medals, especially Theresa May's husband's medal. For anyone who doesn't know about such things, he looked like he'd just won at sports day smile

Blossoming Tue 20-Sept-22 17:56:36

I always thought Cherie Blair was rather thin and bony, a bit more padding wouldn’t go amiss. I confess to reading the D** M* O*****’s reports on the clothes and jewellery worn yesterday (yes I really am that shallow!).

JaneJudge Tue 20-Sept-22 17:54:27

Well yes, it goes without saying doesn't it? I can't imagine what it is like to sit through a funeral such as yesterday when you have to bury your own baby or small child or lets face it, a child of any age. I felt a bit overwhelmed just watching it on tv
