What has happened to Cherie Blair?

In yesterday’s coverage from Windsor she appeared to be walking with quite a marked limp/odd gait and was wearing flat ‘sensible’ shoes. Has she had a hip or knee replacement I wonder?

Age catches up with all of us.

I think she’s 68 this week

No age!
I also wondered about a hip issue- and also (not unkindly) whether she had not put on a bit of weight?
Sarah Brown also seemed to be “hirpling “ - maybe she’s got out of the habit of wearing heels?

She’s younger than a lot of attendees at the service(s) that’s what made me wonder if she has/had health issues. Princess Anne is older and walked for miles and Canilla at 75 doesn’t seem to have any mobility problems.

I agree about the weight Maw - she has my sympathies on that score!!

It's pure luck and your genes. I have friends my age and younger who have had double hip replacements others who have had knees done. They were all walking badly until their op. I suppose Cherie may be waiting for one. I haven't had anything done- I'm lucky.
Did anyone notice she was chatting away to George Brown?
Oh and what about Tony's comb over? Centre parting then a bit to cover the bald spot on either side!!!

It is certainly interesting seeing some of them after a gap of many years, they have aged, I expect they would think the same of us!

I can't believe that Cherie would be waiting for a hip operation! The Blairs are not short of a bob or two.

I admire the way Princess Anne (in her 70s) kept cadence better than some of the military personel around her. In one of the processions there was a chap in uniform just behind her who was constantly out of step.

Luck, genes and looking after yourself- Anne got all three, Cherie? None! Nothing she could do about the first two but she’s not renowned for her exercise regime either!

Princess Anne looked the fittest of all of them yesterday - she's only a couple of years younger than Charles but she looked as if she could carry on marching for miles. She's slim and upright and holds herself well.

Pantglas you missed out money and private doctors who see you the same day ??

JaneJudge Tue 20-Sep-22 17:38:06

Poor Sarah Brown, she's lost a child and has a son with a very serious genetic disease. She did look uncomfortable but maybe she felt uncomfortable.

Wouldn't we all love that!? Would take away a lot of anxiety, which isn't good for health.
One of the great advantages the royals have.

Yes.... and the poor Camerons too.

JaneJudge Tue 20-Sep-22 17:54:27

Well yes, it goes without saying doesn't it? I can't imagine what it is like to sit through a funeral such as yesterday when you have to bury your own baby or small child or lets face it, a child of any age. I felt a bit overwhelmed just watching it on tv

I always thought Cherie Blair was rather thin and bony, a bit more padding wouldn’t go amiss. I confess to reading the D** M* O*****’s reports on the clothes and jewellery worn yesterday (yes I really am that shallow!).

JaneJudge Tue 20-Sep-22 17:58:28

Well if we are going to be shallow wink I was a bit amused by the medals, especially Theresa May's husband's medal. For anyone who doesn't know about such things, he looked like he'd just won at sports day smile

Blossoming Tue 20-Sep-22 18:05:17

Ooh! I have a medal from the last 5K I ran when I was still able to do such things! I’m going to wear it next time I go to any formal events grin

NotTooOld Tue 20-Sep-22 18:10:13

Yes, I noticed Cherie was not walking well but I doubt she's 'waiting' for a hip op. I certainly would not be if I had their money. I felt sorry for Sarah Brown too. She looked very uncomfortable as she walked into the Abbey. And, yes, I admire Princess Anne. It's a hell of a walk she had to do and she's already spent the last few days escorting her mother's coffin. I hope husband Tim is a nice bloke who looks after her. He's taller than I imagined. Mike Tindall and Zara look good together. I bet he's a good dad. Oh, hark at me. What do I know about any of them really. grin
I seem to have gone off topic. Sorry.

I think the message was about a lifelong exercise habit enhancing your already excellent genes folks ...stop making excuses for laziness and overindulgence!

I'll wear mine if you wear yours smile

I on't think anyone can accuse Cherie Blair of being lazy. She had how many kids and an amazing career of her own!

JaneJudge Tue 20-Sep-22 21:34:45

I think women who horse ride and stay slim have amazing core strength btw, might be why Princess Anne is so strong

Pantglas2 Tue 20-Sep-22 21:37:06

Nothing wrong with her academic career Jane let’s not pretend any of it was physical - as Anne’s was, to her obvious benefit in her latter years.
