Absolutely magnificent. There will be some very proud parents and gr/parents today. What an honour and what a story to tell for future children and grandchildren.
They were all excellent - not even a slight 'wobble', always in step and everything 'choreographed' magnificently. The Royal Navy ratings who 'attended' to the gun carriage were brilliant too, male and female some with only a few short months of service apparently - what an honour! The must all be so proud. You could say 'the ultimate service' I guess.
Absolutely bloomin’ amazing. I just couldn’t fathom how the coffin appeared to be lowered and raised (before it was on their shoulders) without any apparent movement by the bearers. Like it was on a cushion of air. They all deserve a medal and a pint. What tales they’ll have for their grandchildren.
They did a wonderful job. After the Westminster ceremony I thought there might have been different pall bearers at Windsor so when they came out again I admired them even more.
Totally. There were many others of course but what those very young men did so perfectly was amazing. I would hope they get some sort of official recognition
Yes they certainly did! My heart was in my mouth every time they lifted it from the hearse onto their shoulders. I was really glad to see a steadying hand at the back when they went up that long staircase into St George’s Chapel.
I thought the pall bearers did an excellent job of caring the Queen’s coffin which apparently weighed over 500Lbs. One was a young lad of 19. They did the Queen, themselves and the country proud.
