Gwenisgreat1 Robin Hoods Bay is my favourite coast visit. Have you walked along the beach or cliffs to Boggle Hole Youth Hostel where they have a cafe thats more like a trendy/comfy barista and panini bar - at the back end of nowhere!

Good afternoon everyone from a sunny south Hants ?. Obviously too late this morning and didn’t even make yesterdays postings! ?

We’ve had a couple of trips out - Lepe Country Park on Wednesday and then to Keyhaven yesterday. Both of which completely tired me out! However Lepe was wonderful and DDog loved going in the sea and then getting me soaked!
I do envy those of you who literally have the sea on your doorstep. Both DH and I are both tempted to move nearer the sea…

A visit to Costco yesterday means that this morning has been spent in the kitchen batch cooking for the freezer lots of winter dishes. DH has taken DDog out for his walk and I’ve got 2 slow cookers on the go and am currently taking 10 mins out for a cuppa and to type this post!

I’ll go back and read through them all now to catch up.

Good morning all from sunny Scarborough haven’t read all the posts or I’d never get chance to post this! I’m in a bus to Robin Hoods bay, then we will go on to Whitby. Two of our favourite places. Yesterday we, including SIL went to Driffield, a nice little market town. Haven’t been for a long time.
Love the scenery round here!

Good morning all from a rather damp Glasgow but hey ho, the sun is still shining.

A peaceful start to my day watching the birds feeding and a squirrel attempting to reach the peanuts, I am enjoying this view having a coffee in my sun filled she-shed. My little sanctuary where, no matter the weather, I enjoy the sense of being in the garden.

Keeping track of appointments is a must here too. We have a blackboard area on the side of a kitchen cupboard to jot down shopping needs and the lower part for appointments numbered 1 to 5 atm. Today, DH has physio at 2.00pm, if he is not up to driving, I will take him.

Good morning from a bright and sunny South Yorkshire.

I’m not sure how long it’s going to last, but long enough for me to get a few outdoor jobs done, I hope.

We had a very short, ineffectual drop of rain at tea time yesterday - no where near enough to have much impact so the soil is still hard as nails. At least the grass is greening up again, but there are quite a few brown patches which will require reseeding I think.

That’s a shame about your evening walks, BlueSapphire, unless someone else decides to take on the role as leader next year.

My windows do the same as yours EkwaNimitee when the outside temperature drops significantly- the installers said they would, and it’s quite normal, something to do with the gas that is between the layers of glass doing it’s job and the glazing is keeping the cold out and the warmth in, it shows they are working normally. It’s if the condensation appears to be between the two layers that there’s a problem, due to the seal breaking. That’s when they need attention.

Well, this isn’t getting my jobs done, so I’d better say cheerio, and hope you all have a good day.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where it is trying to brighten up after raining all yesterday.
I had to go for venesection yesterday afternoon. There were hopes it wouldn't be necessary but my iron overload has gone up, probably due to over-indulgence in red meat whilst on holiday. The opposite to your planned procedure Mick though my excess iron is in my organs not the blood.

Tewkesbury is lovely Ashcombe, DH and I used to stay on the caravan site there near the Abbey, which I hope you can find time to see. Unfortunately the whole area is rather prone to flooding.
I have condensation on the outside of my double glazing this morning Grandmabatty. Is that where yours is? I was concerned when I first saw it a few days ago as mine is a new house but apparently it is a sign that heat transfer from the house interior is not happening and the double glazing is working.
This morning is a bit of houseworking and admin, this afternoon my new freezer is due to arrive so I shall have to clear a pathway through the garage so the delivery people can get it in place. And hopefully, I may get to plant a few of my many spring bulbs.

It will be wonderful for you Ashcombe to watch your DGD dance on Saturday, a very special occasion.

I travelled to Johnstone yesterday for a dear friend’s funeral, a horrendous journey on the M8 in pouring rain, I was very grateful not to be driving.
We were friends from childhood and it was lovely to spend the day with her sisters, children and grandchildren.

Garden centre visiting and blethering with another gran this morning, very much looking forward to it.

Ash you must be so proud. I hope all goes well tonight for your DGD. Four out of five of my granddaughters dance and it is lovely to watch them. The other one plays football !!!!

No plans today apart from preparing for my trip to London tomorrow to meet up with my girls.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but set to stay dry with perhaps sunny spells this afternoon, so I may cut one of the lawns.

A small shopping trip this morning for a top-up shop and a coffee (and cake?).

We had our last evening walk of the season yesterday, and probably the last one ever, as our walk leader has decided not to continue next year. Had a nice meal and wine afterwards in the pub.

Grandmattie my mum has a pattern for a knitted nativity. I'll find out who made it. She made two nativity scenes. The first was perfect and went to dd. The second is what we call realistic nativity. Joseph only has one arm and Mary is a strange colour as she ran out of wool! That went to ds.

Good morning from a sunny Pollensa.

Had a rough night with MrOops so he is still asleep and I’m a bit late getting up, all his mosquito bites suddenley went into ‘itch’ mode and he was in agony despite various antihistamines, lotions and aloe Vera. After 2 cool showers he eventually went to sleep at 3 ish.
The mosquitos really have been a pest for the last 3 weeks any tiny piece of unlotioned skin and they are in there. MrOops has about 40 bites, I’m not far behind, but mine don’t itch. It really has spoilt our holiday.
Anyway, 1st world problems, at least we know where we won’t be going on holiday next year! I told him to book something on the coast, but would he listen? ?
Anyway off to make a coffee, have a good day everyone.

DD2 will be calling in for an hour or so this morning.
Then I have lunch with 3 friends. We all moved into new houses in the same street 47 years ago and had our babies all around the same time. We all still live locally although in different homes.
This evening I must make some progress on the pillowcase dresses we are making in the WI craft group. Watching the first night of Strictly at the same time.

Good morning everyone from sunny south Manchester. It’s a lovely morning. We are not needed by anyone today. Yippee! We are going to the Trafford Centre as good friends have become grandparents for the first time and so we will buy cards, a baby outfit and see if John Lewis has the ubiquitous ‘Sophie’ giraffe! Our babies loved gnawing on one at a few months old and the long neck and knobbly design make it very tactile for babas.

Doubtless I shall have a bit of a mooch while I’m there. FatFace always calls to me ...

Happy Friday to all from a slightly damp West Oxfordshire. I love a 4 day week and the weekend is very welcome. It is DH's birthday today, so he slips back to being 'just' six years younger than me . Meeting family for tea and cake in an upmarket garden centre tomorrow, glancing at beautiful things only the Cotswold elite can afford.
So pleased to hear your DD is home Gingster sadly her poor treatment doesn't surprise me, what a sad state our NHS is in, that said, actual medical treatment is outstanding. My DD1 has scan results next week following her chemo, we are very hopeful all remains clear.
Bon voyage to those on their hols, I am very envious.

Oh Ash! ?‍♀️

Goodness, I’m late this morning. I have been sleeping particularly badly in the last 10 days or so, so took a sleeping pill last night. My word, what a difference it made to my night!
I haven’t yet read all the posts, shall do so in a moment.
I was rather busy yesterday, I made 2 dozen fairy caked , 2 dozen peanut butter cookies, 1 choc-chip chocolate sandwich and one batch of Nutella brownies. (BTW if anyone wants the recipe, please ask. It’s soooo easy and delicious).
I also got a tearful phone call from my legless friend. She is incredibly grateful for my offer. I think she was dreading going to her own totally unsuitable house, ( She has loads of much closer friends but not one offered her any help.)
Today, I’ve got to visit my nursing home friend. I also need to try and out the baby quilt together.
I have foolishly offered to make a knitted Nativity set for DD to use in assemblies and must track down a pattern. I’ll do that once the socks are done.

Up and about earlier than usual as the team replacing the drive like an early start. Digger did its job on Wednesday so something noisy is flattening the surface before the first concert pour, with the second early next week. The patterned concrete will look like the front steps, stone flagstones, and it is a job done in stages. May be confined to the house today!

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sky looks decidedly watery.

Every week I seem to come home from DS’s house with yet another bag for the charity shop. D out L has a group of friends who have always shared maternity and childrens’ clothes and equipment and DD has also passed on things to them. DS’s baby is the last though so everything that either he has outgrown or really is past its best is given to me to sort into donations or rag, I foresee this happening for some considerable time.

Today I’m looking forward to meeting up with another Lanarkshire gran for coffee and chat.

DD is escaping her builder’s noise and coming here to work so I’ll get a little unexpected time with her too.
