Pj wearers taking children to school,

I used to drive my sister to work in my PJs. She had to be there at 0630 and so we had to leave for about ten past six.

Mind you, all I did was drop her outside the restaurant - I didn't get out of the car.

I wouldn't consider it decent to be dropping your children at school in PJs if you have to leave the vehicle.

These lazy parents who can’t be bothered to get dressed what an example to their children, get up half an hour early. Before they start whining about how busy they are, we did it without all the labour saving devices they have or a car.

The PJs I wear in the morning were bought from Cotton Traders and consist of a red tartan pair of brushed cotton trousers and a red fleece top. I am sure I could nip down to the corner shop in these if I tucked the trousers into my boots. Not that I do, I hasten to add.

Makes me wonder what their personal hygiene is like. Yuk!11 To go out without changing clothes you've slept in all night, not brushing your teeth or washing or showering is lazy and dirty. It takes a few minutes to have a quick 'cat's lick' (my mum's term for a very quick wash). Two minutes to brush teeth and a minute or so to chuck on a pair of jeans and a top. 5 or 6 minutes in all. Pity their children. Do they wash and clean their teeth? I wonder if they have clean clothes regularly. Just lazy women.

Just putting clothes on does not equate to perfect hygiene., nor does a “cats lick “ and throwing on jeans and a top .
Lazy women - I can’t go along with this level of of self righteous indignation.
Perhaps all the more so since many of us are of that generation who had “bath night” on Friday and /or shard their bath water with other members of the family.

It's extremely lazy, disgusting and unhygienic! I wouldn't let them into school grounds, shops or anywhere they have to interact with others!

I agree with you. My family have always been fully washed and dressed before sitting down for breakfast. Children copy the example their parents set. It’s good discipline.

Never give up my Soma pjs. Hideously expensive, but there it is.

As for the long pajamas that Norah illustrates I dont see the difference between these and jogging bottoms. I have a couple of those bottoms myself. They look ideal for shopping, dogwalking and so on. The other outfits are pretty skimpy and I would imagine very chilly at this time of year. They do look like night clothes.

Ive seen young women out clubbing in the city center who were (presumably) fully dressed but wearing far less and very much the worse for drink. I find that far more likely to cause offence than someone wearing a pair of pj bottoms under a long coat.

I have just done hours of pruning in the garden in my pjs. Now I am having a little lunch before heading for the shower and wearing clothes deemed as "day clothes." On days when I am going to work up into a lather cleaning I will probably wear my pjs so I can shower afterwards and feel clean again.

I haven't bother to wash or dress this morning as I'm not feeling well - I'm still in my dressing gown and it's past noon - it doesn't feel good at all.

Oh dear, this thread has started going round in circles as they always do after several pages. Repeat, repeat, start again, repeat, repeat.

I sleep in a long sleeve tshirt and very rarely dress before lunchtime unless I'm expecting someone or going out. Usually in tracksuit bottoms and a fluffy warm dressing gown around the house. Normally shower and dress around 12-1pm. I do housework, washing, ironing etc in the afternoon and evening. I'm always up until 1am sometimes 2am my body clock just works that way and I've given up fighting it.
But I would never leave the house in PJs and a dressing gown or onesie. I just couldn't be seen out not dressed.
