Good Morning from sunny Harrogate.
Glad you have your hospital appointments sorted, Mick sounds much better.
Belted birthday greetings grandmadinasaur - I would love to see Andre Rieu!!
Hope your headache has dissipated by now Sunshinesally
Safe Journey for your DH Ashcombe
Hope your chat with the doc is satisfactory Marydoll
Yesterday enjoyed my art club, we had a professional botanical artist teaching us. I did not too badly! It could have been a lot worse.
Not sure what I am doing today -probably getting the kitchen/dining room back in action after the walls and ceiling have been painted. Mind you I've still to do the doors!
Have the best day possible folks!

Good morning all, another sunny, chilly day in Glasgow.

Pilates went well yesterday only problem is trying to remember all the moves and positions I am aiming for, then the breathing part…inhale/exhale. At least it gave Martha a few laughs. ?
DH has speech therapy this morningat our local small hospital. Happy to drive there himself which means I will have an empty unless DD1 decides to pop in! Because of oh so many roadworks here at present I had to remind him of detours all around the houses to reach his destination.
Fingers crossed all goes well for your appointment today Baubles.
Pleased you have a list of your appointments now Mick
Thank you for the pics Shazza. Fabulous memories of Menorca for me and I have looked at that exact sea view many times whilst enjoying a relaxing lunch. Happy Birthday and many happy returns of the day for your DF??

A pleasant day to all and hopefully those too who need a bit of respite from whatever worries you may have.

hollysteers Wed 28-Sept-22 10:13:13

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Hope your appointments are all in order now Mick and you know where you are.
The organiser of the Tuesday music club is stepping back for health reasons and three of us are taking over. Yesterday we presented him with cards and gifts.
In the evening I popped out to a local play which I didn’t particularly enjoy, they didn’t quite bring it off, leading man miscast and I have a thing about wigs being too noticeable. I thought about leaving in the interval which I sometimes do and the second half was a bit better.
My sister arrives from London tonight and I’m actually going to cook something. I have collected all the old bits from the freezer to throw in a casserole.
Turned the heating on reluctantly and need to figure out the clock. The house was hot at 1.30 in the morning…
Hope your plans are working out Grandmattie and thoughts to anyone with troubles.
.

Good morning Mick and everyone. A cold bright morning in this corner of Lancashire today.

It’s good you have all your appointments documented Mick

A little gentle housework and pottering for me today. I haven’t read the full thread yet so will catch up while I drink my tea.

Have a good day all ??

Good morning all from a sunny, cold W Kent. Off to see friend who is now over a first dose of covid. She lives on her own and has seen no-one for 11 days so I expect her to talk a lot!
So pleased for your GD Taichinan both my DDs and GDs had lessons and loved it.
Good wishes to all

GrannyGravy13 Wed 28-Sept-22 09:47:04

Morning all

Blue sky and expected to reach 27-28’ here in southern Espana going down to check on Urmstongrans beach in a moment I am definitely getting the hang of #lazygran ???

Taichinan Wed 28-Sept-22 09:30:13

Good morning all from a very chilly Angus coast - 9° out and only 13° indoors. I've just switched the heating in for a quick blast!
My Dancing DG I knew had been called for an audition for Youth Dance Scotland but with only 12 places ........ Anyway, while on the train yesterday I got the news that she'd been successful! I refrained from dancing up and down the train, whooping and shouting, and managed just to sit with an inane grin on my face ? for many a mile! This will be over and above her College course and involves a series of intensive weekend workshops leading up to performances throughout the UK and abroad next summer. She is so happy.
Down to earth with a bump! My covid and flu jabs are this afternoon. Then tomorrow is my birthday and I have tai chi followed by a lunch with friends, so I"m hoping the arm isn't too sore!
So glad you've got your appointments sorted Mick, and take care with the furniture shifting grandmattie. As everyone is saying, you're so good to be doing this for your friend.
Lovely warm photos Shazza and I'm sure your Dad will enjoy his Birthday!
You must be so fed up with the waiting for your results Marydoll - things were never this bad pre-covid and I can't understand why we haven't returned to a pre-covid state.
Everybody, do enjoy a wonderful, if rather chilly, day x

EkwaNimitee Wed 28-Sept-22 09:05:29

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
It's chilly at night though so I have put a heavier duvet on the bed and will be turning the CH up a degree in the evenings. I'm trying to harden myself up but I definitely feel the cold more in my old age!
Yesterday I was out front overseeding the lawn. The turf originally laid has really fine grass which seems to struggle in spite of my feeding it earlier on in the season. I also got rid of my summer bedding and put in the winter bedding. I hope to get out today as well, there's still plenty to do out back.
I'm also having a review of my possessions. Stuff I brought from the previous home, which I find has not been needed, is going gradually. Not sure I look any less cluttered though...

Have a good day all.

aggie Wed 28-Sept-22 09:05:12

Good morning all from a sunny but very chilly Co Armagh
I hope it doesn’t rain , my new washing machine is thrashing about and I want to hang out the clothes
Michael that’s a great idea for appointments, so much better than letters just now . Will you print the list and pin it up ?
Marydoll I hope you get your help today from the Doctor
I have the Club this morning , there will be lots of chat

Gala Wed 28-Sept-22 08:57:49

Late this morning. So a hurried good morning from a sunny but still very damp underfoot Sefton. Will chance a load of washing in view of the sun & blue sky.

Zoom dance class in a few minutes so must dash.

Have a lovely day those with plans & ((hugs)) for those of you that need them.

Grammaretto Wed 28-Sept-22 08:48:06

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 6° here guessing
It was really cold last night. I must hurry the new boiler installation. He said early October but will he stick to his word?
My Helper is still stricken with covid but well enough to eat.....grin
gMattie be careful with the furniture shifting. I have learned to avoid lifting after a lifetime of back problems. I still see a chiropractor every month for "adjustments"

Oh Harrigtan how awful but I hope you will be able to laugh about it in future.

So many grans with health worries right now
Keep smiling smile

Greyduster Wed 28-Sept-22 08:43:44

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Mick I’m glad there’s been some sensible movement on your appointment and they decided to email you??. Cold and sort of grey blue here in South Yorkshire. I must change the quilt to a heavier one today and think about putting the heating on?. I am going out this morning with my son in law to look at some candidates for a change of car. The one I have is far too big. It was DH’s car and he absolutely loved driving it and I have come to see why, but I need to let it go why it still has a ridiculously low mileage and will fetch a good price. I shalln’t rush into anything though.
Enjoy your holiday, Pitt, soak up the sunshine!
Have a good day, one and all.

BlueSapphire Wed 28-Sept-22 08:43:42

Good morning everyone from a rather dull Northampton, but it looks as though it may brighten up later, so I have the towels in the washing machine. No rain forecast, at least.

Had a good walk with the group yesterday, sorted out cars for tomorrow's funeral of our fellow walker, and enquired of the family about dress code. They replied instantly, and said "cheerful casual"!
Spent the rest of the afternoon reading, in an effort to finish my book before book club on Friday. According to my Kindle 30% left to read so should do it.

An outing to the well-being cafe after lunch, where I hope to catch up on my knitting, which has been lying untouched for several weeks....... Now the cooler weather is here I may feel more like getting on with it.

Lovely photos Shazza; a lovely reminder of the holiday DH and I had there a few years ago.
Glad your appointments are sorted, Mick; good to have them in an email.

Going to make my cup of tea now; been waiting half an hour since my alendronic tablet.
Have a pleasant Wednesday everyone.

Urmstongran Wed 28-Sept-22 08:34:11

No Matt.

Good morning everyone from a glorious autumn start to the day here in south Manchester. Our little family is on the move today! The Boy Wonder is off to school camp with his class for two nights (top juniors) and he is SO excited! I’ve just spoken to him on the phone and he answered ‘hi grandma!’. Mum is going to wave him off on the coach. L’il Miss is better too after her viral infection and so is going into school today. And we pick up my stepfather en route late morning to drive over to Yorkshire to see our eldest daughter - they’ve done alterations to their house and she’d like us to see it and stay for lunch.

This grandma is an extra happy bunny today! I do count my blessings. As the saying goes “this too will pass” which means happy times as well as upsetting ones which is why, as grandMattie remind us, we must “seize the day”.

I’m going to read all your posts now with a second cuppa. Enjoy Wednesday all who can.

monk08 Wed 28-Sept-22 08:12:40

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Running late so will read everyone's happenings later.
Nursery pick up today but I've an early appointment beforehand hope I'm not delayed.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Wednesday and may you all find some ?.

karmalady Wed 28-Sept-22 08:12:24

good morning from s somerset with steadily dipping temperature. I think my thermostat will kick in by the weekend

I was cool at night and changed bedding, much better sleep last night

Flu jab this evening

I am hoping for a relaxing easy day today. I have done much work these last few days

Stilllearning Wed 28-Sept-22 08:12:03

Another good morning from S Lanarkshire, lovely blue skies and lots of noise since my next door neighbour has just had a large skip deposited on their front lawn! I am now intrigued!

Just recovered from a 24 hour long reaction to my Covid booster and flu jab, first time that has happened. It was quite unpleasant and then suddenly I realised I was fine, really odd.

Exercise class and good blether today, I’m glad I’m ready for it.

Mick that was a great idea to ask for a list of all your appointments, that would be so helpful to many people.

Hope everyone manages to have some happiness in their day???

ginny Wed 28-Sept-22 07:52:23

Good morning everyone.
I have my little playmate for an hour or so this morning .I need a few bit of shopping so we will probably walk down to the shops.
Hopefully some art and crafting this afternoon and this evening I have a WI committee meeting.
Hope all the hospital appointments go well and thoughts with all who have troubles to contend with.

Gingster Wed 28-Sept-22 07:51:47

Good morning all and it’s chilly. Goodness it was cold yesterday!

Whilst chatting to a Bridge pal, yesterday , she revealed that she went out with Ryan O’neal. Yes THE Ryan O’neal ?. Many years ago in the South of France and had a summer romance with him.

Today Dh will go fishing (if he feels up to it). Dd will pop in for coffee after the school run and I’ll walk up the hill to town to buy my skate wings from the market stall van.

Pittcity happy holidays. Seville sounds wonderful.
Lady Holkham beach is spectacular. I’m glad you had a good time in Holt - one of my favourite towns to visit. The Queen Mother used to ‘shop’ there.
Shazza - enjoy Menorca. Lovely to be there with your parents and Happy birthday to your dad! ??.

Enjoy your day, grans! ??

harrigran Wed 28-Sept-22 07:46:51

Good morning from the NE where it is dry at present.
Yesterday started well but after the hairdresser left the day descended into chaos.
I was having a cup of coffee when the doorbell went, workman asking me to ring my neighbour as she wasn't answering the door. I knew she was away but didn't want to tell them that. Power failure and they needed access to the house, I have keys but could not leave them unsupervised so spent the entire day trotting back and forth to let them check the wiring.
It wasn't just a power cut it ended up with diggers tearing up her drive and garden, it was pouring ànd they worked until 8pm.
I was unable to reach her on the phone so sent a text to her son who managed to tell her what was happening. She did eventually ring me but to do so had to get in the car and drive to some high ground to get a signal.

I looked out of the window this morning and her garden is a quagmire.
SIL coming this morning, grocery shopping and covid vaccination. DD is having a parcel delivered here which is due to arrive between noon and 1pm which is handy as we will be home for lunch.
Have a good day.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 28-Sept-22 07:44:25

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, chilly but nice to see the sun for a change?
Washing is on, shopping will arrive this afternoon, but I have a few things to do whilst MrOops takes MissOops for her pre op assessment, her second knee op is early October.
Good to get the list of appointments Mick I wonder why they don’t all do that ?
Granmattie you really are a trooper, I’m going to change rooms around for after MissOops op and I’m fretting already, especially after the bad experience of practically non existent pain relief last time. I hope all goes well with your friend, but check she gets enough meds to bring home with her.
Have a lovely day everyone, it’s good to be home…

Wyllow3 Wed 28-Sept-22 07:40:15

Morning all from S Yorks.
A mix of sunny and cloud.

My CH was accidentally on all night: thankfully Mr Boiler service man comes this afternoon and can help me with the hand set! At least the clothes I'd left on radiators will be dry...

I slept an unbelievable 11 hours so will head for the gym this morning. Brook your gym sounds like mine nice and friendly: I've been a member for 20 years so although I do yoga and some weights alone, I know a lot of people.

Mike its so good you have a list all laid out, at least you know where you are now.

Yes Ashcombe it must take some time to "come down to planet earth".

baubles I hope the assessment goes as well as it possibly can.

I hope horribly busy days at least go according to plan, (careful with any lifting now) and may all travel go smoothly and well (and that's a big ask),

and those with hospital appointments for yourselves or N and D work out as well as possible.

Marydoll Wed 28-Sept-22 07:39:50

Good morning all from a Glasgow, where its currently 7°C.
Glad to hear you have been proactive regarding your appointments Mick. Hopefully no more confusion.

A busy day yesterday putting upstairs back in order. It took longer than anticipated, because SIL appeared for a visit.
He did bring flowers, so he is forgiven for putting me off my stride and it was a respite from the battle of the curtains..
I am pleased with the results, but something is missing. It needs a wow factor! I can't put my finger on it.

I will attempt to see/speak to a GP this morning. I have been feeling progressively unwell over the last week and am extremely fed up with this constant pain and feeling nauseous. I feel badly let down by the NHS at the moment. Eleven weeks on and no results. ?

Shazza, I hope you have a lovely day out. Good luck with all your hospital appointments.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
