Good Morning Everyone,
ts dark but dry here in brackley this morning.
Yesterdays trip went to plan ,anyway I spoke to a nurse at the JR in Oxford and it two weeks time will be busy as to appointments.
More later ,so will relax more as to build up .
She on my request sent me a email listing all dates and times of appointments , saves allot of mail in post.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, Mick and all who follow from a dry but chilly Torbay.

Very wise to have appointments confirmed by email when the mail is so unreliable currently.

Thank you all for the interest and lovely comments about my dancing DGD. I think I’m back down to Earth now, not least as I have an early start to enable DH to catch a train from Newton Abbot at 7.30a.m., as he’s returning to France until I have my operation in late October.

Hope you all have a good day. ?????

grandMattie Wed 28-Sept-22 06:04:52

Good morning from a cold, dark E Kent.
Well done, Michael, for getting an email and a printout of all your hospital appointments.
I’ve been awake since silly o’clock and got up in desperation. I’m trying to finish the quilt for tomorrow, but I’m horribly busy today.
I’ve got my federation WI needlework group most of the day; I shall stop at the supermarket on the way home. Then a friend is coming to help me shift furniture to get the room ready for my friend. I hope I’m getting beds, commodes, etc., tomorrow afternoon, and Jeanne is arriving at some time on Friday.
Hope all is well with everyone. Carpe diem. ?????

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, dry corner of Somerset.

Hospital session went well enough yesterday, I was a bit of a pin cushion from a medial branch block but it seems as if my lower back pain can be eased. Long waiting list for ablation (not thinking about the detail!) but it looks as if I’ll be on it. The pain clinic neurological physio who referred has been a lifesaver. Told to keep moving afterwards we walked around a shopping centre handily placed on our route home. Two unplanned tunics came back with us, oops but I am really pleased with them.

Grocery delivery due early-ish. May then trundle across the bridge as we want to sort the grave of Mr Cs parents before the weather deteriorates. A good clean, replace the silk flowers and it will be done. If our friend is well enough will call and see her after lunch, if not will stop at NT Tredegar House for a stretch (and some cake smile) on the way back to the bridge.

Careful with the furniture moving grandmattie, don’t hurt yourself. That’s a sensible move to have appointments emailed mick, good for you. Safe trip for your husband and anyone else on the move today

Take care everyone, have the best day you can. . Hope Wednesday is kind to us all

Beechnut Wed 28-Sept-22 06:34:51

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dark and very cloudy. A nice day forecast.

Good idea to get your appointments listed Mick. My calendar is unusually busy lately. I have to take the car for a MOT this morning and have a X-ray myself tomorrow.

I shall probably do some planting this afternoon now that I’ve decided what to put in the one section on my bank.

Have a good day all ?

ShazzaKanazza Wed 28-Sept-22 06:57:02

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Menorca. We have a lovely day forecast.

Happy belated birthday Grandmadinosaur for yesterday.

Travelling to Menorca was seamless right through. The hotel is really nice. It’s in the centre of Mahon the capital. My parents are in the sister hotel in the resort. They had some heavy rain before we arrived.
We spent a lovely day with them yesterday in Mahon and their resort. We are picking them up this morning and going to S’Algar where it’s flat for my Dad to walk safely. It’s his birthday today he’s 82 I’ve told him today is all about him. I’ve bought him a jokey gift but we are taking him and Mum out for a lovely dinner tonight for his birthday and hers in October.
I’ve put a couple of pics on of Mahon and the view from our lunch restaurant yesterday.

Have a lovely day everyone and special thoughts to those dealing with stress. ??

Morning all. It looks like another damp Norfolk day. After a lovely day yesterday in Holt, I’m not sure what we’re doing today. OH wants to go to the seaside. We’re spoilt for choice here. I’m reminded by some of your posts of my forthcoming hospital appointments and more blood tests! Plus getting my car fixed where I knocked some of the trim off! OH also has hospital appointments looming and telephone appointments. I think it was my sister in Australia who said that getting old isn’t for wimps! Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning Mick and everyone from South Hants - haven’t peeped behind the curtains yet!

Quiet day today methinks - Woken up with a horrible headache.

MiL finally got moved to a ward late afternoon yesterday and visiting hours are restricted and reviewed on a daily basis.

Good luck to those with appointments and best wishes to those with worries etc ?? - hang in there.

Hugs and flowers for you all ? x

Grandmadinosaur Wed 28-Sept-22 07:19:56

Good morning all from East Yorkshire.

Thank you for all your good wishes yesterday. I had a lovely day especially the time I’m the evening spent with all the family. They really spoilt me and my present was tickets to see Andre Rieu next year. That was a total surprise I was gobsmacked!

I’ll have an easy day today with a bit of pottering in the house.

Photos look lovely Shazza enjoy your day out today.

That seems a better way for your appointments to be in emails Mick then you know where you are.

Take care everyone.

baubles Wed 28-Sept-22 07:23:52

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry but very cool.

Much more sensible yhave your appointments listed in an email Mick, you’ll know where you are now.

I’ve an early hospital appointment with my nurse and then someone from a company which supplies support belts to help minimise the risk of herniation around the stoma.

Later today I’ll have a video call with HR and my regional manager to discuss my return to work which is planned for Monday. Unfortunately my occupational health assessment resulted in the doctor advising so many adjustments and restrictions that it may not be feasible for the charity to sustain for any length of time. So we’ll see how it goes.

Have the best day possible everyone.

NanKate Wed 28-Sept-22 07:26:16

Morning Mick and All.

Glad you are sorted Mick.

Sunny with clouds in South Bucks.

Off to John Lewis to meet a WI friend for coffee, where we are going to discuss speakers for the future.

brook2704 Wed 28-Sept-22 07:27:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and raining again - same as most of yesterday! ☔️
I’ve quite a busy day today, an eye clinic check up this morning, then a class at the gym followed by a cake and bake sale and a good long chat with all the gym ladies. DD2 needs to borrow the car too so I’ll be hopping on the bus to get home later.
Safe journey back to France for your DH Ashcombe
Enjoy your holidays Shazza and wishing your dad a very Happy Birthday
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today, even just a little thing and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Pittcity Wed 28-Sept-22 07:28:00

Good morning from sunny but cold Colchester. I am having a cuppa before we set off for Gatwick. We are having to drive because the trains are so untrustworthy of late. Seville and 30° here we come.
Love to all ?x

Grandmabatty Wed 28-Sept-22 07:31:24

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° with blue skies above. It feels cold. Mick it sounds like you have things organised. Shazza have a lovely holiday. Best wishes to your dad for his birthday. Cornergran it all sounds very painful! I hope it helps to ease you. Grandmattie I'll see mum today and ask about the Nativity scene pattern. I hadn't forgotten.
Yesterday was enjoyable. Art class was a lot of fun. I finished an apple pastel and began one of an autumn leaf which I'm happy with so far. Dd invited me up at teatime to get another gift. It was an oversized pink fluffy hoodie and a box of breakfast ingredients eg sausages, bacon, eggs, potato scones etc. I wore the hoodie last night while watching tv, and fell asleep as it was so cosy. Her and sil are very good to me.
Today I'll visit mum then my friend for coffee. I shall potter happily about this afternoon and put up autumn decorations. I like to signal the seasons. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Wed 28-Sept-22 07:39:50

Good morning all from a Glasgow, where its currently 7°C.
Glad to hear you have been proactive regarding your appointments Mick. Hopefully no more confusion.

A busy day yesterday putting upstairs back in order. It took longer than anticipated, because SIL appeared for a visit.
He did bring flowers, so he is forgiven for putting me off my stride and it was a respite from the battle of the curtains..
I am pleased with the results, but something is missing. It needs a wow factor! I can't put my finger on it.

I will attempt to see/speak to a GP this morning. I have been feeling progressively unwell over the last week and am extremely fed up with this constant pain and feeling nauseous. I feel badly let down by the NHS at the moment. Eleven weeks on and no results. ?

Shazza, I hope you have a lovely day out. Good luck with all your hospital appointments.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Wyllow3 Wed 28-Sept-22 07:40:15

Morning all from S Yorks.
A mix of sunny and cloud.

My CH was accidentally on all night: thankfully Mr Boiler service man comes this afternoon and can help me with the hand set! At least the clothes I'd left on radiators will be dry...

I slept an unbelievable 11 hours so will head for the gym this morning. Brook your gym sounds like mine nice and friendly: I've been a member for 20 years so although I do yoga and some weights alone, I know a lot of people.

Mike its so good you have a list all laid out, at least you know where you are now.

Yes Ashcombe it must take some time to "come down to planet earth".

baubles I hope the assessment goes as well as it possibly can.

I hope horribly busy days at least go according to plan, (careful with any lifting now) and may all travel go smoothly and well (and that's a big ask),

and those with hospital appointments for yourselves or N and D work out as well as possible.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 28-Sept-22 07:44:25

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, chilly but nice to see the sun for a change?
Washing is on, shopping will arrive this afternoon, but I have a few things to do whilst MrOops takes MissOops for her pre op assessment, her second knee op is early October.
Good to get the list of appointments Mick I wonder why they don’t all do that ?
Granmattie you really are a trooper, I’m going to change rooms around for after MissOops op and I’m fretting already, especially after the bad experience of practically non existent pain relief last time. I hope all goes well with your friend, but check she gets enough meds to bring home with her.
Have a lovely day everyone, it’s good to be home…

harrigran Wed 28-Sept-22 07:46:51

Good morning from the NE where it is dry at present.
Yesterday started well but after the hairdresser left the day descended into chaos.
I was having a cup of coffee when the doorbell went, workman asking me to ring my neighbour as she wasn't answering the door. I knew she was away but didn't want to tell them that. Power failure and they needed access to the house, I have keys but could not leave them unsupervised so spent the entire day trotting back and forth to let them check the wiring.
It wasn't just a power cut it ended up with diggers tearing up her drive and garden, it was pouring ànd they worked until 8pm.
I was unable to reach her on the phone so sent a text to her son who managed to tell her what was happening. She did eventually ring me but to do so had to get in the car and drive to some high ground to get a signal.

I looked out of the window this morning and her garden is a quagmire.
SIL coming this morning, grocery shopping and covid vaccination. DD is having a parcel delivered here which is due to arrive between noon and 1pm which is handy as we will be home for lunch.
Have a good day.

Gingster Wed 28-Sept-22 07:51:47

Good morning all and it’s chilly. Goodness it was cold yesterday!

Whilst chatting to a Bridge pal, yesterday , she revealed that she went out with Ryan O’neal. Yes THE Ryan O’neal ?. Many years ago in the South of France and had a summer romance with him.

Today Dh will go fishing (if he feels up to it). Dd will pop in for coffee after the school run and I’ll walk up the hill to town to buy my skate wings from the market stall van.

Pittcity happy holidays. Seville sounds wonderful.
Lady Holkham beach is spectacular. I’m glad you had a good time in Holt - one of my favourite towns to visit. The Queen Mother used to ‘shop’ there.
Shazza - enjoy Menorca. Lovely to be there with your parents and Happy birthday to your dad! ??.

Enjoy your day, grans! ??

ginny Wed 28-Sept-22 07:52:23

Good morning everyone.
I have my little playmate for an hour or so this morning .I need a few bit of shopping so we will probably walk down to the shops.
Hopefully some art and crafting this afternoon and this evening I have a WI committee meeting.
Hope all the hospital appointments go well and thoughts with all who have troubles to contend with.

Stilllearning Wed 28-Sept-22 08:12:03

Another good morning from S Lanarkshire, lovely blue skies and lots of noise since my next door neighbour has just had a large skip deposited on their front lawn! I am now intrigued!

Just recovered from a 24 hour long reaction to my Covid booster and flu jab, first time that has happened. It was quite unpleasant and then suddenly I realised I was fine, really odd.

Exercise class and good blether today, I’m glad I’m ready for it.

Mick that was a great idea to ask for a list of all your appointments, that would be so helpful to many people.

Hope everyone manages to have some happiness in their day???

karmalady Wed 28-Sept-22 08:12:24

good morning from s somerset with steadily dipping temperature. I think my thermostat will kick in by the weekend

I was cool at night and changed bedding, much better sleep last night

Flu jab this evening

I am hoping for a relaxing easy day today. I have done much work these last few days

monk08 Wed 28-Sept-22 08:12:40

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Running late so will read everyone's happenings later.
Nursery pick up today but I've an early appointment beforehand hope I'm not delayed.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Wednesday and may you all find some ?.

Urmstongran Wed 28-Sept-22 08:34:11

No Matt.

Good morning everyone from a glorious autumn start to the day here in south Manchester. Our little family is on the move today! The Boy Wonder is off to school camp with his class for two nights (top juniors) and he is SO excited! I’ve just spoken to him on the phone and he answered ‘hi grandma!’. Mum is going to wave him off on the coach. L’il Miss is better too after her viral infection and so is going into school today. And we pick up my stepfather en route late morning to drive over to Yorkshire to see our eldest daughter - they’ve done alterations to their house and she’d like us to see it and stay for lunch.

This grandma is an extra happy bunny today! I do count my blessings. As the saying goes “this too will pass” which means happy times as well as upsetting ones which is why, as grandMattie remind us, we must “seize the day”.

I’m going to read all your posts now with a second cuppa. Enjoy Wednesday all who can.

BlueSapphire Wed 28-Sept-22 08:43:42

Good morning everyone from a rather dull Northampton, but it looks as though it may brighten up later, so I have the towels in the washing machine. No rain forecast, at least.

Had a good walk with the group yesterday, sorted out cars for tomorrow's funeral of our fellow walker, and enquired of the family about dress code. They replied instantly, and said "cheerful casual"!
Spent the rest of the afternoon reading, in an effort to finish my book before book club on Friday. According to my Kindle 30% left to read so should do it.

An outing to the well-being cafe after lunch, where I hope to catch up on my knitting, which has been lying untouched for several weeks....... Now the cooler weather is here I may feel more like getting on with it.

Lovely photos Shazza; a lovely reminder of the holiday DH and I had there a few years ago.
Glad your appointments are sorted, Mick; good to have them in an email.

Going to make my cup of tea now; been waiting half an hour since my alendronic tablet.
Have a pleasant Wednesday everyone.
