Sir Richard Branson is dropping rules that require its employees to wear “gendered uniform options” in a first for the UK aviation industry.

I think as long as cabin crew are polite and helpful it doesn’t much matter. It’s a funny old world anyway. I do wonder whether large groups flying abroad on stag parties might become even more raucous though.

Actually we never fly Virgin so I’ll never know!

What do you think? A PR stunt or good business nous in a changing/challenging times?

Remember this movie? The cabin crew were expected to look glamorous, and so they did. No-one would have thought to challenge the dress code back then.

Espee come to the Edinburgh Tattoo next year... you'll be in heaven. Hundreds of kilted men there!
Cheaper than a flight and very eco friendly...lol!!

The kilted men look good because the whole look is there, including tartan socks. I'm not sure men in skirts is generally a good look, and in some cases it's really not! I think they need to be quite manly and wear chunky socks and boots to pull it off.

The tartan socks aren't there when they wear the kilt as an everyday casual thing. The kilt, short black jacket, ruffled shirt front and long socks with dirk stuck into one of them is the formal dress version, usually spotted between car park and wedding venue.
