Me:

Wordle
Quordle
Trickster
I used to play Candycrush and got completely hooked. Had to delete the app and haven’t dared go anywhere near it since.

Worrying about family things that I can't do anything about.

Codeword, crossword books and ebay

GN, FB, TikTok. My sister lives at the opposite end of the country to me so we chat on WhatsApp, usually about nothing in particular and usually when we should both be doing something else.

This twaddle!
Entering competitions
Wordle
Words with Triends

I have a lot of time to waste since covid struck me down!

TillyWhiz Mon 03-Oct-22 14:01:42

Words with Friends, Ruzzle, Hay Day. But I am socialising on them too!

I fear I am not into computer games and like to be outside if poss either gardening. going for a walk as well as the usual shopping. I do occasionally go to the gym.

Otis. Where do you find your competitions? Entering them, and writing slogans, used to be my favourite pastimes, and I often won prizes.
Since the internet came along there mainly seems to be Prize Draws, which must get huge numbers of entries. No longer any competition leaflets in supermarkets.

I'm an routine time waster now, and becoming worse as I age. I sit reading, surfing the net, knitting, and thinking that I really must vacuum the bedrooms/ mop the kitchen floor/go for a healthy walk etc. I'm a champion procrastinator!

Looking through Facebook- mostly at Animal Rescues.

I don't waste my time!

I use it on the people and things I want to.

If I am asked to do things I really rather would not, I decline politely.

One of the benefits of retirement and of being 70 is surely that now our time is our own.

Wordle and crosswords are not time wasting; it's part of my defence against onset of dementia, though it may be a losing battle. Who knows!

Neilspurgeon0 Mon 03-Oct-22 14:39:03

Day dreaming, solitaire especially spider solitaire on my phone, reading up stuff that has intrigued me on Google and then Wikipedia and then out to the wider, often academic, ‘net.

For those of you who play some form of Codeword can you please recommend a good free app for this please ? I’ve noticed a few criticisms on the app I looked at.

Reading GNet
Browsing Pinterest
Surfing the web for craft materials and spending more than I should!
Playing Patience when the TV is boring.

I not only do Popmaster on the Ken Bruce radio programme, but I also have a special pen and paper to record my results and keep a running tab. How sad is that? I wouldn't dare go on it as although I could have a conversation about knitting I wouldn't do very well on the quiz.

karmalady Mon 03-Oct-22 15:26:21

GN, I had some time out a few months ago and quickly lost the addiction. Now only browsing on my breaks but quick to be sucked in as before. Otherwise not really, time is too precious to waste on nothing

Joseanne Mon 03-Oct-22 15:28:42

Stroking my dog, but it isn't a waste of time because it keeps my blood pressure in check!

Trish9495 Mon 03-Oct-22 15:34:37

I enjoy my first cup of coffee doing Wordle, Quordle, Octordle and Sedocordle.
Gets the old grey matter working.

nexus63 Mon 03-Oct-22 15:37:55

spending to much time tidying up and hoovering when it is only me here.

Alioop Mon 03-Oct-22 15:44:31

Looking at all new A/W dresses online, buying them even though I'm not going anywhere to wear them.
Cleaning up after workmen only for them to come back and leave a worse mess.
Starting a diet and then ending up eating cake.

GrammaH Mon 03-Oct-22 15:52:36

Wordle, Waffle , Octordle plus reading crime fiction.

I agree, MiniMoon. Whatever I am doing, I am turning things over in my mind at the same time. Even when I am sleeping I sometimes wake up with a solution to a piece of work or knotty problem....

VioletSky Mon 03-Oct-22 15:56:52

Reasoning with unreasonable people...

But I work with 4 to 7 year olds and it is just habit at this point
