The Christie Hospital is amazing Baggs the pinnacle of hope and treatment options here in the NW. It sits between annsixty and myself. My younger sister with Grade IV breast cancer had surgery, removal of 16 lymph nodes from her armpit, radiotherapy, chemotherapy (she rang the ‘bell’ for last treatment on her way out, everyone cheered and she then cried in the lift), reconstruction and counselling. She is 5y post diagnosis next month and says she owes her life to that wonderful hospital.

If any place can give your daughter hope and a serious degree of ‘press pause’ in the progress of this god awful disease, the most wonderful Christie is the absolute centre of excellence.

Thank you for the update Baggs, hoping the Christie can improve things for your DD.

A friend of my eldest daughter has just started treatment at the Christie.The local hospital said there were no further treatment options for her, the Christie said nonsense and she has started treatment and has hope again.

Your darling daughter is in the very best of hands.

Baggs the Christie is a wonderful and inspiring place.
All the latest treatments are available and often pioneered there.
I had 5 weeks radiotherapy there some years ago.
I wish your DD the very best in both her treatment and her progress.
She will be looked after to the very best of their ability.

Please practice resting kitty, bodies take time to heal, it does seem the more mature we are the longer it can take. Loved persies comment, reminded me of a similar encounter with our friends twin sons.

Busy day for us. A two hour volunteer meeting this morning for me and perhaps foolishly a trip to a large shopping centre this afternoon, goodness it was busy I’m shattered but very pleased at tracking down a coat I had been searching for. No, not in the shopping centre, in a garden centre in the way home .

DD received the GN card today before I left to come home for the time being. Your kindness was much appreciated.

It was a hard parting but my journey went well: sunshine between the Derbyshire High Peak and the M6, multiple rainbows between Preston and The Lakes, with the best one as I reached the Shap summit (would that they could be good omens!), godawful rain and spray up to the Scottish border, sunshine showing off the autumn trees, the orange leaves and pinky white seed sprays of rosebay willowherb alongside the motorway as far as Glasgow, then cloudy but fine along wet roads into Argyll. And home. I had been missed by MrB who had a meal all planned and my favourite wine.

And rest..... a couple of weeks or so of relative normality will help with that. DD is to have radiotherapy and chemo at The Christie in Manchester in the hope of slowing down her tumour ?

I read all your posts about your lives with interest. Forgive me for not responding and thank you all once again for the love and support.

Good evening dear Kitcheners. I’ve done very little today after a late night. We had a lovely day yesterday, I slept in the afternoon and then we stayed up late catching up on the Andor series on Disney. Your meals all sound delicious, Mr. B is making stuffed peppers and baked potatoes in the Ninja.

Well done on the weight loss Urms, I have lost 6.5kgs over the past year. The ‘Healthier You’ program had its faults and different instructors gave out conflicting messages, but I have kept up with the food diary. That’s definitely helping me make better choices.

‘Evening All’

Hello soop and all the kitcheners. A bit earlier for me today. We’ve been over to my stepfather’s this affy. Dropped off a chilli and enjoyed a couple of hours with a malt whisky, chatting about family, snooker, football, his neighbours and holidays in general - as you do.

At 4pm I didn’t want to just ‘go home’ so we dived into a favourite bar up the road from home. 19 punters in altogether so not too shabby for a Saturday teatime. And guess what? Yet another new bar has opened here, only next door. People were saying they’d heard about the menu etc. Himself suggested we go in tomorrow. Good call. Sunday is ‘roasts only’ apparently. Suits us!

We will be busy tomorrow emptying the bedroom and bathroom for the decorators while we are away in Málaga from Monday. So I stood up and nipped into the new place to book Sunday lunch at 3pm for us both. £12.50 each. I’ll report back tomorrow night.

Nannytopsy actually no, the nurse didn’t irritate me in the least. The truth hurts sometimes and I needed a reality check! I am SO determined to continue to lose weight.

Right - I will stop wittering on and budge up for others in the kitchen to have a turn! I’m going to warm up the chilli prepared by Himself yesterday. Mushroom rice will be pinged later to go with. I’ve got to swerve the garlic bread but I’m focusing more on what ‘I can have’ rather than what I can’t!

Im just home after an enjoyable but busy day with DGD, we went shopping in town then we had lunch together in a little cafe. She’s only 7 but growing up so quickly, it was like having lunch with a friend with grown up chatter and she read and ordered what she wanted off the menu herself
I picked up an M&S curry to eat later so no cooking to do
Tomorrow we’re off to Edinburgh and staying over, DS is over from Switzerland so we’re meeting up for a meal and a get together. Really looking forward to seeing him and his partner
I do remember the Vienettas nannytopsy and still like them!
momb good to see you here but don’t think you’ve nothing interesting to say, I often feel the same but prattle on anyhow!

My number 2 DS has just arrived from Derbyshire.He’s going to Majorca tomorrow with DS3 his twin by 15 minutes, my GS2 is also going. Weather is looking good so I’m sure they will have a great time.
