Understandably there is an air of abject sadness tonight in the kitchen. Plus waves of deep compassion for you Baggs and your family. It was the first thing I thought of this morning and has been on my mind intermittently all day. The comment you made about the facecloth on your pillow last night to catch the tears you shed for your girl was absolutely heart rending. Truly, this is a mother’s worst nightmare and my heart goes out to you.

Like many of us I haven’t been able to get Baggs and her family out of my mind.
Now a long-standing friend has just updated me with news of her H which is not good.
They are just waiting for the results of biopsies to confirm what the Consultant has told them to expect.
Very sad for them but he is 86 and such a different scenario from Bagg’s family.
Life seems so fragile at the moment for so many people.

Baggs I shall add many extra names, and I will do my best to amend the message inside the card.

You are foremost in our thoughts. There is a huge outpouring of love for you and your family. Many tears have been shed. So many hugs shared.

We are here to listen. That's if you want to share with us. I've longed to text you but, I respect that you may wish for complete privacy.

I am a regular reader but hardly ever post. I can't tell you baggs how sorry I am to read your news. Life can be very unfair. This is a prime example of it. No words can probably say how sorry we all are. Sending love and care to you and yours x

Thank you, everyone, for the love and support. It means a lot. We are all stunned by the diagnosis after DD seemed to be doing so well post-surgery but the important thing is to support DD, her partner, and the children so that's what we will do one day at a time.

soop, I think DD will love to receive the card. Just cross out the get well soon bit or paste something over it and thank you for organising it.

Last night I put a terry facecloth on my pillow to catch the tears that flowed as I settled down to sleep. I think I will need to do that quite often.

My whole family, not my whole life! It’s taking me ages to type anything.

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. I’m struggling with using my iPad just now, if you read the Good Morning thread you will know why, but I know many here don’t so I’ll explain.

I’m suffering from an erythema outbreak on my hands. I had Stevens Johnson Syndrome a couple of years ago and was very ill so anxious to avoid a repeat. It’s difficult to do much with my hands covered in ointment and wearing gloves, but it is responding to the treatment. I’ve learned that once you’ve had it there’s a risk it will recur.

The shocking news from Baggs has driven everything else from my mind, how do you deal with something like that? I hope her daughter is being supported by her medical team and not in pain. This world is a very cruel place at times.

I feel the need to tell my whole life how much I love them today.

I am not a regular visitor to the kitchen, though I look in from time to time when I want to be reminded of how wonderful gransnet can be. I am so shocked and saddened by Baggs’ news, I have thought of little else all morning. My heart goes out to her and her family - no words are adequate - but I hold them in my thoughts.

soop, I know you and Baggs are close friends and this news will have hit you hard. Do take care of yourself, as I know you will take care of Baggs.

Baggs you are surrounded by the love of us all on here. It won't take away the pain and sorrow you are going through but I hope that a little of that love trickles through and gives you strength and courage... We are all here to help you through in whatever way we can.... Come into the kitchen and yell and shout and scream and cry at the unfairness of it all whenever you need to...
