How lovely to hear from you Panache. I hope your operation goes well and I'll be thinking of you

Panache Mon 10-Oct-22 14:42:21

A good afternoon to Soop and all her kitchen family that may remember me.
Such a pleasure feeling the warmth and ambience within this kitchen

You may understand that I simply felt I needed closing some doors after my long drawn out personal issues,in fact I much needed seclusion with time for reflection, eventually coming to the point of renewal.

My life continues in a peaceful way, settling into my warm, secure and comfy flat, making some stalwart friends and quietly stepping out anew.
This past year has been punctuated with my own bad health and unpleasant diagnoses, and an `op on the cards within weeks hopefully.

I have stepped away from what had been "the old" as I truly needed perfect peace and a complete change.
So sadly up to a point, I have lost touch with the greater happenings here in Soop`s kitchen.

However it was a pleasing moment when I reacquainted myself with you all, especially pleasing knowing our stalwart Queen of chat and caring, dear Soop, you remain at the helm.
I was very sorry hearing of Mr Soop`s unpleasant set back,Braggs family dilemna,Kittylester and Anne again deeply unwell.
I will surely have missed out others...apologies indeed.
When I left, you were having severe health issues Soop and that has remained a constant at the back of my mind so hopefully you too are in a better health.

Perhaps it was just as well Doodle gave me that little nudge!!

Anyway dear friends, old and those perhaps yet to be made, may I wish you all every happiness and the best of health,

Hope to pop by in the meantime.

Ha ha soop, yes it is. Your autocorrect would soon tell you otherwise. My iPad loves “correcting” me even when I’m right and it is wrong, so annoying.

I’m sorry about your frustration with the painting. I bet the next attempt will be just what you wanted. You’ve just had some practice runs, that’s all. Good luck and I hope you enjoy actually painting the puss.

soop Mon 10-Oct-22 13:08:41

A bright and breezy good Monday afternoon greeting to you lovely lot.

Our neighbour has just this minute left having enjoyed a coffee and blether. Time for brunch. After which, I shall endeavor to try on last time with a black pussy cat painting.

Is that the correct spelling of neighbour?

G+T time here after a very busy Sunday afternoon. I shall relax with an evening of TV. Lots to interest me. MrM will no doubt join me in watching Frozen Earth *. He needs to relax after two long communications yesterday that have preoccupied his mind. One a call of support to a friend whose had a recent diagnosis of two cancers and the other, a letter to a family he’s known for nearly 40 years who’ve had a very tough 18 months since their son took his life.

Great to see more good news baggs and from Ann too. Thank you for the news of panache Doodle. Hope she’s coping with her health concerns.

My condolences to aldom and naughtyneine

A marathon is such an achievement dustyangel. Well done. Does he have another one planned? Love the pineapple cocktail ?

What could MrSoop have done? Puzzling! Pleased that he’s improving soop.

Take care lovely Kitcheners ?

Jaxjacky Sun 09-Oct-22 18:32:56

Well done your DGS dustyangel he deserves a cocktail.
Garden pottering, quite warm in the sun, chilly now, ditto for dinner here BladeAnnie, I’ll have another look at my crossword while MrJ peels potatoes.
Have a pleasant evening all x

brook2704 Sun 09-Oct-22 17:46:40

A very well done to your DGS dustyangel! ??

Blossoming Sun 09-Oct-22 16:58:31

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. So much sadness and loss recently. I think we must be due a group hug and some good tidings soon.

How lovely to hear about your DGS’s achievement DustyAngel

kittylester Sun 09-Oct-22 16:46:01

So sorry to hear your news, Aldom, I have 2 younger brothers and would miss them dreadfully

soop Sun 09-Oct-22 16:43:10

I am terribly disappointed. In spite of putting so much effort into the black pussy cat portrait, I have failed. It is now "overworked" and, I'm unable to rescue it.

In the big scheme of things, it is not important. However, I do so wish that I had not made a hash of the painting. I had high hopes. All that I can do right now is clear the decks. Maybe I shall feel inspired to start afresh once I've regained some inspiration.

Bless you all. smile moon

BladeAnnie Sun 09-Oct-22 16:36:43

My condolences to aldom and naughtyneine ??. Pleased to hear to hear you arrived safely and to good news Baggs. Onwards and upwards as the saying goes ?. We have a beef stew smelling rather delicious in the slow cooker. I think this is something which is going to be well used over the coming months. Sending hugs to all in need of a little comfort. TOYA ??

Urmstongran Sun 09-Oct-22 16:29:58

A very early ‘Evening All’.

We’ve had a nice restful afternoon. Been over to see my stepfather and the 3 of us chatted about their recent visit north of the border while we enjoyed a delicious malt (Dalmore).
?

Home now, pork steaks marinating. I know - Get me! Himself has Man. Utd game to watch on tv after we have eaten. I shall watch a film on Netflix. They do say ‘opposites attract’!

Re the haircut yesterday. I didn’t explain myself very clearly, so apologies. I would never have taken it upon myself to instigate a haircut. Goodness, that would be above any grandmother’s remit!

No, when I said ‘spur of the moment’ I meant that although my daughter had said she’d like L’il Miss to have a trim later this month in half term, I used the opportunity of a saunter past the salon to enquire if they could do a dry cut ‘now’. Saved mummy going in the holidays I thought. Daughter was delighted when I texted her at the wedding doo! And after bath time last night with hair wash using fancy new smellies ‘thank you grandma these are just SO nice!’ the little curly brown mop looked super cute at bedtime.
❤️

gillgran Sun 09-Oct-22 16:17:42

Pleased to hear that your daughter is recovering & you've seen her & had that important hug, Baggs.

annsixty, it's good that you are feeling better, take care.

There certainly has been upsets, poor health & sadness in the kitchen recently, my warm wishes to you all. flowers

Condolences to Aldom & to Naughtyneine.

dustyangel Sun 09-Oct-22 15:50:14

Obviously a cup of coffee didn’t cut it. grin

ixion Sun 09-Oct-22 15:32:23

Soop
I have PMed you!

soop Sun 09-Oct-22 15:18:32

I had such high hopes of creating a black pussy cat painting to be proud of. I have tried and tried again but fear that the result is not one to make my heart skip a wee beat. I shall back and mount it and post it with my love (and an apology).

soop Sun 09-Oct-22 15:12:14

dustyangel Hearty congratulations for your grandson's well-deserved accomplishment.

dustyangel Sun 09-Oct-22 15:00:56

My sympathy and condolences to Aldom Some time ago my DH lost three of his sisters in one year and it still doesn’t seem possible that the family has shrunk so. ?. Condolences to NaughtyNeine also ?

Good news from Lisbon where DGS has completed the Marathon safely. ? I haven’t see his time yet but have seen a triumphant photograph with GS’s face looking much more tanned than when he started. I think they all have about five minutes for a cup of coffee before they start the return journey.

soop Sun 09-Oct-22 12:22:42

Very brief visit from me until later this afternoon.

GOOD news from Baggs. That will have been a hug to remember forever.

Sorry to hear that you are dealing with such sadness, Aldom. Your loss too, Naughtyneine. The past week has been a full-on buggeration for many of you lovely lot.
A hug for annsixty. Doodle Thank you for the update on Panache. Please will you pass on our very best wishes.

Mr Soop continues to recover. He does, however, have four enormous bruises around his elbows. One is the size of a saucer. He does bruise far too easily. I have never seen a cluster of such massive bruises. I asked if he had fallen on his way to the bathroom, he said that he has no recollection of having done so.

annsixty Sun 09-Oct-22 12:01:08

A very late Good Morning to you all.
I am just catching up and also want to Thankyou all for your good wishes and to say I am feeling much better now.
I have been sleeping for England since Wednesday, partly because of missing a whole night’s sleep, partly from not feeling well and finally from my experience in A&E.
We read about it and mutter but to experience it and know it is happening to thousands of people every night is totally different,
How I wish I were knowledgeable and powerful enough to bring about a change.

Urms like Hellogirl I hope you aren’t in bother for having your GD’s haircut.
My mother did this to my D when we were trying to grow her hair and I never really forgave her.

I send my very best wishes to all not in the best of health and special good thoughts to Bagg’s D.
I hope the next stage of her treatment plan is being explained and that it goes well.
A long road ahead but fingers and toes firmly crossed for a successful one.
Have the best day you can folks

brook2704 Sun 09-Oct-22 10:56:00

Good news yesterday about your DD Baggs hoping all goes to plan today and she’s home soon
Thank you so much Doodle for the update on Panache it’s good to hear she’s doing ok
We’ve got rain forecast to start anytime so I’ve already been out in the garden doing a bit of tidying up, just getting my breakfast now and catching up on news. Ive lots of inside jobs to do but just feel so much better when I’m outside even though it’s cold and windy
Sending condolences to aldom and neine ?

Hellogirl1 Sat 08-Oct-22 23:29:17

Good to hear the news of your daughter Baggs.
Doodle, thanks for the update about Panache, please give her my best wishes.
Urmston, many years ago, whilst I was staying with her, my auntie took me for my hair cutting. My mother never forgave her, as it was curly before, and never curled again after that. I hope you don`t get in bother.

cornergran Sat 08-Oct-22 23:02:14

Thank you for the update, baggs, that sounds so much better. I’m so pleased for you all.

for you too soop and of course for mr soop, a frightening interlude for you both. Onwards and upwards now.

My condolences to aldom and naughtyneine, flowers for you both.

Please pass panache my love doodle, thank you for passing on news of her.

A quiet and fairly productive day here. Boiler serviced, plumber returning next week to sort a dripping radiator valve. Some garden faffing completed and the ironing cleared. Bedding and curtains dried on the line in surprisingly warm sunshine. Even better Mr C has promised to deal with the ironing tomorrow. All in all a decent day.

Sleep well everyone. TOYA.

Joane123 Sat 08-Oct-22 22:25:02

Good to read your dear husband is feeling better Soop.
Also glad you have seen your DD Baggs praying things will keep improving.

Naughtyneine Sat 08-Oct-22 22:06:30

I hung back from posting yesterday. I wanted to hear that all was continuing well with Bagg's DD...
Aldom..I feel for you today...I had a bereavement yesterday morning... We had hoped for months but in the end it was weeks. I'm so glad I was able to visit and have that last picture in my mind.
Onwards and upwards now Mr and Mrs Soop..( it's hard to be on the other side caring too). I am not having any more vaccines.....I don't think I'd be allowed anyway. Because of previous anaphylactic shock.. I was only ever asked the Astra Zeneca but the booster in December set of another reaction which I do not want to go through again. This in Soops words a buggeration of a lurgy has lasted 4 weeks now and I really don't want anymore feeling under the weather.
I said prayers for all who needed them tonight at Mass... It's all I can do.
