Baggs Sat 08-Oct-22 18:55:44

Just popping in to say my journey went very smoothly, smoothest journey I've had in ages in fact.

I arrived at Other Granny's, had a cup of tea and then was taken to see DD. She had messaged me to say not to come if I was too tired after the journey but I assured her that if I wasn't driving then I wasn't tired.

The MRI that was supposed to take place today after which DD would be discharged, has not happened and is scheduled for tomorrow. Things chug along slowly at times though we have no complaints as DD got the treatment she needed PDQ when it was urgent.

She is looking great in a weary sort of way, hardly unexpected after what she has been through. It was so so lovely to see her and hug her.

Sounds as though our kitchen friends are on the mend.

I have been making Christmas Chutney today, along with peeling onions ready for picking in the morning. That’s all my news.

I've missed loads this afternoon due to an extended nap. Oops. I wasn't home til after midnight last night and then struggled to get to sleep, hence the very long nap. I'm glad MrSoop is feeling better. I hope Annsixty is feeling better too. Brook I can't imagine you as dishevelled. You looked very elegant the time I met you. Lazy day today so a busier one tomorrow. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

I’m so glad things seem to be improving for everyone in the kitchen. I’ve been popping in to check how things are in the kitchen at the same time as checking if DD1 has posted any pics of her visit to Lisbon to support DGS 1 in the Lisbon Marathon tomorrow. So far I’ve heard they are staying in an apartment on the eighth floor with thirty two flights of stairs! Should be good for his training!

Hellogirl1 Sat 08-Oct-22 17:21:12

Glad to hear that Mr Soop is on the mend.
Hope Baggs arrived safely, and to good news.

soop Sat 08-Oct-22 17:17:12

All well in the Soop household. It was a most worrying 24 hours and even Mr Soop cannot recall much of it. He asks me to thank "his ladies" for their good wishes. wink

Yes, Baggs may have arrived at her destination. I also look forward to hearing better news when she is able to be with her daughter. I can imagine how moving that occasion will be.

I am working on a black cat painting. Like white dogs, black cats can be tricky subjects. However, Mr Soop has reassured me that I am on the right track. He is amazing when it comes to listening to my arty-farty moans. Somehow, he knows how to boost my flagging confidence,

Until we meet again tomorrow, I wish you all a restful evening. Thank you for your company. smile moon

Lovely to hear some better news in the kitchen today ?. I just popped in to see how everyone is and send gentle hugs to everyone in need of a little comfort. TOYA

So good to hear that Mr Soop is on the mend Soop, let’s hope he’s back to normal very soon
I’m just home from a trip into town with DH, we dropped a few things off at DD2s house and saw the DGC briefly, DGD had her head in a puzzle book and DGS was playing football up and down the hallway …. ?‍♀️
I bumped into a friend from the gym in M&S, she looked elegant as usual and I was feeling very disheveled and uncoordinated. I knew I should have made more of an effort this morning. Note to myself, must try harder!
It’s also been warm here today charleygirl, but I don’t want any snow yet ⛄️
Hoping Baggs has arrived safely and there’s good news to report

Charleygirl5 Sat 08-Oct-22 15:41:26

I am so pleased to hear that Mr.soop is almost back to normal but he must rest as like the rest of us he is on the wrong side of 50.

What a ghastly week it has been for many in the kitchen.

I am enjoying the mini Indian summer in London because I believe snow is forecast soon.
TOYA

I am so glad Mr Soop is recovering. I’m having my flu and covid jabs on Tuesday so hope I will be ok! OH had his a couple of weeks ago, and apart from aching arms, he’s fine. I’m trying to have a quiet weekend in readiness for all the medical shenanigans next week. We are having lunch out tomorrow, and tonight I’m cobbling together a shepherd’s pie with some leftover Bol. Have a good rest of the day everyone.

Pleased to hear about Mrsoop

Blossoming Sat 08-Oct-22 14:47:22

I’m glad to hear MrSoop is much better today.

soop Sat 08-Oct-22 14:39:46

I am overwhelmed by so many caring messages regarding Mr Soop. He is over the worst. THANK GOODNESS! He says that he was "out of it" and can just about recall feeling unable to lift himself from his chair or walk the short distance to the bathroom. He remembers shivering violently and trying to sleep wearing his thick, padded anorak over his pj's. He must have slept through a visitor calling by. He cannot remember my efforts to persuade him to drink more water.

I now need to catch up and, at some point this afternoon, I shall return to our kitchen.

Safe journey to our Baggs sunshine

Susan56 Sat 08-Oct-22 14:00:02

??Urms

Hope Mr soop, Ann and kitty are continuing to improve and that Baggs journey is straightforward with no delays.

kittylester Sat 08-Oct-22 06:57:37

Just come to wish baggs a safe journey and a request to keep us posted either news .

I hope MrSoop had a good night.

How disappointing corner.

cornergran Fri 07-Oct-22 23:58:18

That sounds better baggs. Safe journey tomorrow.

Hope mr soop is over the worst soop. Rest well tonight bith of you.

It’s hard not being able to do what our heads tell us we can kitty, it won’t be forever, you’ll be stronger soon.

Disappointment here, our planned stay with our elder son has been called off as he has spent several days alongside a colleague who now has covid. As it’s too soon to say if he has escaped our son is as adamant we must stay away, he’s right but there’s huge disappointment here. Oh well, there will be another opportunity.

Sleep well everyone. TOYA.

Blossoming Fri 07-Oct-22 23:05:40

What an eventful week it’s been. Goodnight dear Kitcheners, sleep tight and hope for better news tomorrow xx

harrigran Fri 07-Oct-22 22:58:28

Just popped in to wish Mr soop a speedy recovery after his adverse reaction. Very worrying to have such a bad reaction.
Good news from Baggs, wishing her a safe journey tomorrow.

Doodle Fri 07-Oct-22 22:07:35

I have been AWOL for a while so only just caught up with your news Baggs. So sorry for your poor DD. What a traumatic time you’ve all had. So pleased the latest news is more positive and I do so hope your daughter recovers well. Hope you sleep better tonight too and get some rest.
ann sorry you have not been feeling too good. Don’t be put off by the surgery saying emergencies only. Lots of surgeries do that to cut down in the phone calls. If you are feeling as ill as you have been or have trouble breathing, you are an emergency so don’t be put off. Do so hope you feel better soon.
Soop what a worry about Mr Soop. When I had Covid (not the injection) I had the shakes and shivers for 24 hours. I wonder if Mr Soop has something similar. I do hope he feels better after a good sleep. Much love to you both x
kitty I hear you haven’t been well either. Do hope you are feeling better now. Sounds as though you are being well looked after.
Hello to everyone else and to anyone new I’ve not ‘met’, welcome. Hope all those who are poorly feel better soon.
Hello Urms ? ?

hulahoop Fri 07-Oct-22 21:49:45

That's good news Baggs ,have a safe journey.Ann hope you feeling better .

Urmstongran Fri 07-Oct-22 21:48:55

? Susan56! ?

kitty hope your baked potato wasn’t cremated. The smoke alarm always makes us jump here when it goes off! They are so LOUD aren’t they? Then cue flapping a tea towel underneath ... it till blessed silence.

Hellogirl1 Fri 07-Oct-22 21:33:47

Safe journey Baggs.
Pleased to read that Mr Soop has surfaced, hope he`s feeling better by tomorrow.
Ann, sorry if I`ve missed it, but have you dialled 111 for advice?
Kitty, so sorry, I meant to say that I was sorry you`d been so poorly, but I got side tracked. I hope you continue on the up and up, if you still need to put more weight on, I`ve got plenty to spare, lol!

Bellanonna Fri 07-Oct-22 20:13:02

Ann I do hope that scary episode is over now. If you can’t reach the GP surgery by ‘phone (and who can?) would going to the surgery be feasible? I do that now because it’s useless holding on while a voice tells me I am 15th in the queue. I only go to try to sort things out. There is never anyone in the waiting room. It always used to be full!

Nannytopsy Fri 07-Oct-22 20:12:56

Take care tomorrow Baggs and best wishes to your daughter.
Glad to hear MrS is feeling a bit better and I hope he continues to improve.
Ann & Kitty keep on improving. I’m not sure I would let MrTopsy anywhere near my toenails Kitty !
Still doing washing for DS and family. They should get their new machine next week I think. ?
Sleep well everyone ?

Bellanonna Fri 07-Oct-22 20:08:35

soop, it’s a good move forward that MrS is now awake and is happy to eat. The long sleep will have helped. Onwards and upwards MrSoop.

Thank you for organising the card for Miss Baggs. You will have a lot of writing to do.
