I should see him or her quite soon Muse. There is no waiting list for cataract surgery here and most people have their surgery within 6 weeks of the referral.

(Last time I invoked Doctor Google I discovered I had 6 rare tropical diseases, 2 of which were fatal grin).

Hello Kitcheners. A quick visit to say well done to Blossoming. You coped really well. You are wise not too Google. I am afraid I do too much of it to find answers. Then I start to worry. Do you see the consultant soon?

Lovely photo baggs. Such a treat for you.

It's so mild here, mid Cornwall. We haven't lit the log burner for two nights in a row. It is still managing to rain a lot though.

Blossoming Sat 29-Oct-22 22:26:23

Thank you Charleygirl, as I understand it the cataract is fairly straightforward but I have other issues that may require additional surgery. I won’t know anymore until I discuss it with the consultant. I’m resisting the temptation to Google. He did mention injections to relax an overactive muscle and I thought he said vertox, which is a rat poison so I guess I misheard! Anyway I get my super new improved glasses on Monday once I hand over another small fortune. They should make my life easier in the meantime. They’re so expensive and the NHS doesn’t fund them. I appreciate they can’t fund everything so I’m not complaining.

I am just back from a meal out with my friend from across the road.
We went to a new restaurant which has been opened where a pub, now demolished, used to be.
The food was delicious, the service excellent and we enjoyed our evening.
The only problem being was that as we eat early and the clocks go back we have a long night ahead of us.
A very first world problem, we ate well, enjoyed each other’s company and were able to do it.
I really do count my many blessings.
I hope many of you can do the same.

Charleygirl5 Sat 29-Oct-22 21:30:19

brook and Grannmarie I am not selfless at all because I have also gained as the drug worked. I will have the drug injected in my left eye monthly for life unless somebody finds a magic pill to be taken annually.

Blossoming I am sure it will soon be over and although I have not had cataract surgery I believe it is another miracle worker.

soop oh dear it is one thing after another, life is not peaceful for you at present. I know zilch about computers so I cannot help but sympathise.

A gran friend and I went to Edinburgh today to eat a 40th birthday lunch with DD2. Fab food at Ka Pao restaurant and we walked up Calton Hill afterwards.

Then gran friend called her youngest son who is in his first term at uni there and he met us for hot chocolate while DD2 went off to meet some other friends who were in Edi for the day.

Good evening dear Kitcheners. It’s rained steadily all day here so I have had to use the tumble dryer for the first time in ages. We have had quite a lazy day, just pottering really. Extra hour in bed tomorrow but it will be dark at 4 o’clock. Wishing you all a good night, take care of yourselves x

Chrissielou Sat 29-Oct-22 20:00:31

Another mild day, no coat needed when we were walking the dog. The trees are beautiful; gold and red against the blue sky is wonderful and feeds my soul. I love nature and being outside always calms me, especially when there are a few family worries on my mind.
Pleased to hear medical procedures went well.
I'm looking forward to having DS1 for the day tomorrow, I've been planning vegan dishes and will bake vegan blackberry and apple crumble and custard for him. DH and I picked so many we still have a lot in the freezer.
Enjoy Saturday night and the extra hour in bed.

Good news Blossoming well done you.
Pretty display brook enjoy your visit.
Saturday paper today and I joined my daughter for a local Halloween party in a pub, so many overexcited children in costumes with parents who after about 90 minutes looked desperate for a drink other than coke.
Quiet evening planned, there is a live band locally, but it’s wet outside, band don’t start until 9, or any other excuse I can think of!
Enjoy your evening all x

Remember after ‘Strictly’ tonight to put your clocks back an hour!

An early ‘Evening All’ from me.
The WiFi signal has been a bit intermittent of late over here.

I’m off to shower after sunbathing on our little balcony. We are eating out tonight in the tapas bar downstairs. Barcelona are playing at 9pm so it will be busy. We need to scoot in for a table about 8:30pm.

I’ve been playing catch up in here. Hope you’re over the worst with that tummy bug GG13 and that the baby of the family isn’t too out of sorts with his chickenpox. Such a nasty virus.

As always my thoughts are with Baggs. That prognosis is just devastating.

soop Sat 29-Oct-22 17:23:40

You lovely lot keep me sane in what seems like a mad, mad world.

brook Your family gathering is something that I wish was possible for we two. Although we are lucky to have frequent updates and images of the wee ones. When we were ten years younger (and fitter) the journey from Kintyre into London was easy peasy.

GrannyGravy It's the best age for the little ones to have chickenpox. No laughing matter for you to be struck down with a wretched tummy bug. Plenty of fluids and rest.

blossoming Deep sigh of relief. You coped admirably with the various procedures. Take a bow.

I wish you all a peaceful Saturday. Special love to Baggs and those of you with family worries.

Don't forget...any Gransnetter with the name Lindsay...please message me.

Farewell my lovelies. Until tomorrow smile moon

Hello everyone - the kitchen is indeed a wonderfully supportive oasis of calm (in a sometimes not very nice world). Soop thank you 💗 TOYA

brook2704 Sat 29-Oct-22 16:40:38

Sorry to hear you’ve got a tummy bug GG13 hope you’re much better soon and the little one with the chicken pox isn’t too poorly!
We’re all just back from Pumpkin Picking! 🎃
Soop thank you for the wonderful kitchen you’ve created, it’s always lovely to come in here ❤️

Grannmarie Sat 29-Oct-22 16:19:12

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people.

I don't know what happened with yesterday's posts, they've got question marks where they should have emojis.

Hope you are feeling a bit more like yourself, Soop, you've had a lot to contend with.

GG13, you need a holiday week for yourself now, rest and relax when the children return to school.

Hoping everyone is having the best Saturday possible.

TOYA.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Oct-22 15:58:37

Baggs sending you a (((hug))) and a basketful of courage 💐

Blosoming pleased to hear your procedures went OK

Half term here has ended up with one 3yr old with chickenpox, spots came out the day after 5 of the GC had been together, along with one of the little dears passing on a really nasty tummy bug to me. It’s the second one in three weeks, I should be so skinny 🤣🤣🤣

soop you are a star 🌟🌟🌟

soop Sat 29-Oct-22 15:47:39

Creating our kitchen has given me huge pleasure throughout the years. For as long as I have breath in my body, I shall continue to keep our gathering place open and welcoming.

Is there a Lindsay among Us lot? If so, please private message me. I need to say a heartfelt thank you. smile

Grannmarie Fri 28-Oct-22 23:05:51

You are very welcome, Brook, enjoy your family visit.

Hellogirl1 Fri 28-Oct-22 22:54:15

I`m pleased that all went well Blossoming.

brook2704 Fri 28-Oct-22 22:51:01

Thanks grandmabatty I arrived safely this afternoon and DD1 picked me up from the station with two gorgeous DGSs in the back seats. Always lovely to see them all. We’ve all had Friday night Pizzas, and then played some board games. DD1 and SiL, are watching TV and I’ve come to bed as I know I’ll be woken up early with little footsteps into the bedroom.
Thank you for the Scottish emojis grannmarie!
Thanks for letting us all know how you’ve got on today Blossoming, pleased it’s all over for a little while

Grannmarie Fri 28-Oct-22 21:44:53

Hello ? Grandmabatty! I'm just trying to avoid being crabbit. ?
Your pasta dish sounds delicious, the wine is not only polite but essential!?

Grandmabatty Fri 28-Oct-22 21:41:26

I think I'm a bampot or glaikit Grannmarie! The kitchen cupboards are looking fair braw and I'm feeling wabbit now. I made giant pasta shells stuffed with bolognaise and covered in cheese sauce and served with garlic dough balls. I've had a glass of Italian wine to go with. It's only polite. Good to hear things went well Blossoming a new credit card is scunnersome Soop. I hope Brook arrived safely. Off to bed soon for me. Night all

kittylester

Glad to hear you are having a nice comforting cup of PG Tips, grannmarie.

Hello ? Kitty, good one, hope you are feeling a wee bit better now.

My tea of choice is Tetley Redbush.?
Friday nights it is miraculously transformed to a glass of PG, or maybe SB ..it's the weekend.
Funnily enough, when I had Covid I could enjoy neither tea nor wine, I'm happy I'm rediscovering my taste!!
