WELCOME to you lovely lot
Love your Scottish emojis Granmarie. Thankyou and thank you soop for creating this lovely kitchen.
A very quick hello from me as we are netflix-ing. I've tried to post several times but couldn't access GN at all ??. Anyway seems normal service is resumed?? TOYA
I'm so glad that went well for you, Blossoming. Great to hear that the waiting list is not very long. Relax and enjoy your evening.
Thank you, Brook, have a great weekend with your Cambridge family.
Soop, it is indeed a bonus, and it is great to spend an afternoon with my dear sisters, catching up and putting the world to rights.
Relax and enjoy your smooth red, you've had a lot to contend with.
I'm home now, glass of PG this evening, feet up and ready for HIGNFY....small pleasures.
TOYA, especially Baggs and DD and family, NNGB??
Good evening lovely Kitcheners. I want to thank you all for your kind comments and messages. We got home around 4:30pm and I had a cup of decaff coffee and fell asleep in an armchair, which is most unusual for me! Mr.B treated us to a chippy tea, so here I am full of fish, chips and mushy peas, ready for another sleep. I will have to be on dry bread and water next week to make up for all the naughty things I have eaten this week.
The CT scan was, as I expected, a doddle. Chest scans don’t take as long as brain scans. It’s much wider than an MRI scanner and open both ends, so no claustrophobic feelings. I was asked to breath in and hold my breath twice, the whole thing took about 15 minutes.
The eye exam took a couple of hours and he didn’t need to do a reading test or a fields test as I’d had those last week. He also didn’t want to look into my eyes, so no nasty drops! However, there was plenty of staring straight at a pen light (argh). I had to look at moving objects and lights without turning my head, with one or other eye and also with both eyes, using various prisms and pinholes.
I will now need to see a consultant who will look at the results and discuss options. The exam will need to be repeated twice more to decide how the treatment needs to be carried out. The cataract in the right eye is a lot worse than the one in the left.
So now I will wait for the next stage, but there doesn’t seem to be a long waiting list. I also got an email while I was at the hospital from the opticians to say my new glasses are ready so I will ring tomorrow to arrange a fitting appointment.
Mr. B was waiting to escort me back to the car as by now I could see very little and felt quite dizzy.
And that’s it! Early night for me. Sleep tight everyone xx
Mr Soop's credit card has had to be cancelled. A new one ordered. Talk about a faff. I've also been boxing up a huge quantity of colostomy products that were delivered here and which I did not order. The GP hasn't been back to report what the dispenser believes has gone wrong. Apparently, no other patient needing these items on the practice list. It's been agreed that I keep any item which I can use in the future. A huge amount is being taken back to the surgery. Hey ho!
My thanks to you all for your company. I need a strong
. Almost certainly a glass of smooth red wine later.
Back with you again tomorrow.

Grannmarie I always consider a trip to the hairdresser to be a treat. To have the hairdresser visit you is a bonus.
brook It is unseasonably mild her in bonnie Kintyre. I kicked some bedcovers off last night. For a change, my feet were too warm.
Yia Your concerns and troubles are valid. We are here to offer you whatever support we can. Good news that your husband's second cataract removal went well. Bless him and you.
Nannytopsy Recently, a friend gave us a lift into Glasgow. She was confident that the Satnav was going to be a huge help. Well, thanks to several diversions, the journey took an awful lot longer and was far from hassle-free. Our friend cursed constantly.
Just checking in to see if Blossoming is feeling ok, hopefully all over with now
Good news Yia about your DH cataract operation and hoping you feel a bit better soon too
Ive just landed at Luton and waiting for my bus/train connection onto Cambridge - gosh it’s mild here I’m almost tempted to take my coat off!
Have a lovely afternoon Grannmarie with your sisters and hairdresser
Soop thank you for the pictures of Torben, they’re really lovely
YiaYia, for you.
?? Good news about your husband's cataracts.
Hope Blossoming's procedure went well.
Haircut and colour this afternoon, our lovely hairdresser has returned from maternity leave. She comes to DSis2's house and does the three of us, it's always a good catch up ! I am lucky that both sisters live nearby.
Enjoy the afternoon, hope Friday is kind to everyone. ?
Hello Kitcheners. No chance of catching up but hugs to all who need them.?
As I posted last week I’m going through a bad P.A flare not up to doing much at all, plus a worry with a family member.
I’m not going to put my moans and worries on here,so many people much worse.
Some good news this week.DH had his second cataract done. All good he says the world is a much brighter place.
Have a good day all and take care.
A group hug for Blossoming x
Good luck blossoming with your procedure.
Just popped in to say 'good luck, blossoming, soon be over!'
Sounds a great day Topsy, despite the frustrations.
Off to bags a sea view in the new kitchen.
Hello everyone! I’m back after a flying visit to London then Kent. Satnav said the trip to London would take 2 hours but it took 4 1/2. The Dartford crossing wasted 45 minutes this morning. It was all worth it to spend time with DD, SiL and (of course) DGS. He is getting so strong now. Daddy does exercises with him!
Good luck tomorrow Blossoming - I don’t mind the drops, lights etc but don’t fancy injections. I used to take my mum.
Well, night night everyone.
Thank you, Jaxjacky, shame about your sage. I have some heathers, cyclamen and winter pansies sitting on the patio table waiting to get potted up, just need to find the motivation. I've had two speeds, dead slow and stop, since I had Covid last month.
Shazza, sounds like you had a great day with your grandson, relax now and enjoy your wine, I'll be pouring a chilled SB for Question Time.
Niene, you are right, Soop has created a welcoming haven where we can be ourselves and support one another throughout life's ups and downs.
Hoping Blossom is fast asleep now, fingers crossed that all goes well for her appointment tomorrow.
TOYA, NNGB ??
Hi lovely Kitcheners.
Blossoming best wishes for tomorrow I’m sure you are nervous ?
Soop your grandson is so handsome and those dimples are gorgeous.
We have had our grandson all day today. I’m very tired now I’ll fall asleep in front of the tele I’m sure. Enjoying a glass of red. Cheers to you all?
DH made a tasty warming roasted veg soup for tea. He carved out a pumpkin so used the flesh with carrots and butternut squash. It was more like a purée. Yum!
Relax time now so love to all and speak soon x
Nothing very exciting to share but I've popped in to say hello. I've been working at home today, walked a very lively dog in the sunshine and am now relaxing. Have a good evening everyone and I will see you tomorrow.
Best of luck tomorrow Blossoming. Jaxjacky my sage plant is flourishing. I would offer you some of we were closer. Soop Torben is a very handsome young man. Thanks to Brook for the push, I cleaned the upper kitchen cabinets today and threw out lots of stuff which was out of date. I cleaned the windows too, so I feel very virtuous. Tonight I'm off to a pumpkin painting class and I'm looking forward to it. Have a good evening Kitcheners.
In the very short time I've been visiting the kitchen I have realised it is a haven... No judgement... No snide comments..no one up manship... Just sharing of all that is good..bad..sad..worrying or just being...so Blossoming you are in good kind caring hands....as is anyone needing a listening ear whatever it is that's being said.... Hallelujah
Violas have such cheery little faces Grannmarie on a sad occasion.
Never known you to moan Blossoming, I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow.
My sage plant gave up with the summer heat. I’ve tried to source a new one today as it’s soon time to make stuffing for you know what, no luck, I’ll be ‘borrowing’ some from friends. Potted up the last two hanging baskets, so warm outside, as much soil on me as in the pots!
Enjoy your evening all x
I am awaiting a message from a company that may be able to help me to use the photo of my missing pet portrait in a satisfactory way. Watch this space.
Farewell for today. I shall return tomorrow.

Blossoming Our kitchen is for the sharing of all moods. Happy, sad and in-between. You are not moaning. You are apprehensive. Us lot fully understand.
I have decided to give Facebook a rest for a while. Gransnet and you lovely Kitcheners will remain my priority. Thank you.
Blossoming ? you are not moaning and you are amongst friends. Hoping Mr Soop is soon feeling better. Sending hugs to everyone feeling anything less than their best ? TOYA
What a handsome laddie, Soop, he has beautiful eyes and a lovely smile.
I hope you are feeling a wee bit brighter in yourself, and that MrSoop's migraine soon passes and leaves no after effects.
Wishing everyone a peaceful afternoon/evening. TOYA.
