We habitually shop at that well-known discount German supermarket where there is no doubt about it, prices are considerably less expensive than other chain stores.
But although it might be a sweeping generalisation to say one should always check the receipts, they are notorious for over-charging [not only here, but our local store in France was the same]. Today, joghurt marked as special offer 45p but charged at the till as 68p. Asked for a refund, which was given, then rechecked the bill again to find a second mistake. Cut lettuce in a bag reduced to 20p for quick sale, but charged as 95p. Came out of the store with 1.22 refunded.
The staff looked sour at having mistakes pointed out, but that's not our problem - they should take more care. Do others check their receipts habitually?
