I really need some!
Mine are rolling up and down like a blind each time I move.

Any suggestions, please?

Reasonably priced, obviously tight arse

???

My friend suggested I buy Spanx shapewear to wear to DD's wedding (it was fine, no offence, she was larger than me and had worn them at her DD's wedding).
They were like huge knickers, went down the thighs, up beyond the waist. I endured them throughout the ceremony and the photos (well worth it looking back!) then went to our room and discarded them.

Callistemon21 Fri 07-Oct-22 20:13:32

Actually, they looked like small knickers but long!!

MissAdventure Fri 07-Oct-22 20:22:50

If I have them that long I'll end up with a bulging neck!

Oooh...
The Sloggis are starting to appeal.

I'm making my life miserable by wearing bargain ones.

I would also say that this is not something where you should try and save money. Perhaps buy fewer pairs and wash more often, but get good quality.

After all, it's something you wear all day and every day, and, like shoes, they need to be comfortable.

I have found that a wider, good quality elastic at the top will not roll down so readily.

Failing that, you could always fix braces to them!

I prefer cotton big knickers and Sloggi are Lycra. I do have a Sloggi comfort bra that is very comfortable.

MayBee70 Sat 08-Oct-22 14:58:29

Is it just me but I can’t wear anything with any form of lace on it. Even pictures of lacy bras or knickers make me itch.

Three Sloggis for £12 on amazon.

Not bad, not bad.

....and Sloggis last for ever !

Absolutely! My Sloggis are verging on antique, but are still in good condition and are so comfortable -- no VPL either

same here

Quite the opposite here.

MissAdventure Sun 09-Oct-22 20:11:43

My first swathe of new knickers have just arrived!

They're a sight for sore eyes.
Very sturdy, no nonsense colours. smile

These are some cheaper Amazon ones, but they look up to the job!

Do let us know if they’re comfy and well fitting. Scratchy knickers are no good to anyone.

Norah Sun 09-Oct-22 20:32:38

In the first movie, when Bridget Jones was plump, didn't she have some big knickers? Probably comfortable.

She called them scary stomach holding in pants, so maybe not all that comfortable!

MissAdventure Sun 09-Oct-22 22:03:08

Its early days, but I think these may be "the ones".

They'll need to go through some rigorous tests, obviously, but indications are good so far.

Certainly not arewethereyet. Gransnet is not that sort of place ?

M&S full knickers for me no roll down at all size 14 can't be doing with lacy ones they are uncomfortable on the tummy.
My mum always bought Ethel Austin "double gusset" knickers she was devestated when they stopped making them.

Nice to hear of Ethel Austin again. I grew up with that shop and still miss it, very good value.
I still have a couple of “roll-ons” I wouldn’t be without from EA and have resorted to mending them, not something I make a habit of…

I wear naxi sloggis too during the day but not at night. They feel uncomfortable in bed.
They are mostly cotton, 5% elastane. Don't dry in tumble drier or on a radiator.

DanniRae Mon 10-Oct-22 10:05:43

Hi nadateturbe - I am interested to know what knickers are comfortable in bed, please? smile

Ginny42 Mon 10-Oct-22 10:31:15

This thread reminded of my DD in New York one December when it was extremely cold. She's a size 10 and went into Victoria's Secret's and asked for the 'biggest knickers you've got' as she wanted to layer several pairs. They looked at her askance but finished up having a good laugh about it.

I don't want to feel I'm wearing knickers. By which I mean I hate to be constantly tugging and wriggling adjusting them. At the moment I'm between a size 10 and a 12 but happily wear what my DD calls 'Mum's big knickers,'

So far, so good.
Not a roll down in sight.

No itches, or wedgies, very soft, but very sturdy.

I know this is a ‘ pants’ thread , but can anyone recommend tights that don’t have a crotch that only comes halfway up your legs and the body rolls down ? I’m 5’ 8” and size 18 can’t seem to find any! Thanks n advance x

hollysteers Mon 10-Oct-22 11:10:02

Tupperware for me, uncomfortable, but they keep everything fresh ?

I haven’t bought any yet but Snag tights look good. I’ve got boxes full of tights that I can’t wear. I’ve usually bought them for special occasions eg wedding, which is the only time I wear dresses and I can never find a pair that fit me so I will buy a pack and find they’re useless.
