Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
Feeling “off” after covid booster yesterday and didn’t go to the show last night but fell asleep in the chair…
After the jab and before the effects hit me, I managed to buy some food and a black trouser suit, but think I have lost a list which was not only shopping but a painstaking list of all sorts of different things.
I forgot to mention, the other night my very good next door neighbour, about 9 o’clock said he didn’t want to alarm me, but he thought someone had attempted to enter the front of their house. He thought it was maybe a one off. Their dog barked and all was ok. So I just put my outside lights on, made sure everything was securely locked and kept the phone with me. Strangely, since DH died, this sort of thing doesn’t bother me.
So a quiet day for me and thoughts to all with troubles.
Will read through later.

Good morning Mick and everyone. A cold bright morning in this corner of Lancashire.

So lovely to read of happy family times together. Great news about the wee man Greyduster. I hope the jabs haven’t knocked you back too far Marydoll, make sure you get some rest today.

We were late to bed and I had a disturbed night full of strange dreams, so a lazy Sunday here.

Good morning from sunny Sefton by the sea.
My part of the decorating is complete - the pasting table to which I have been tied it seems is now back in the garage, thank goodness. Today, as DH emulsions I’ll potter, quite possibly knit some more ventilator hats for our local SCBU. The ultimate test is if the hat will fit a satsuma. Thinking of these little ones thriving, like yours Greyduster, fills me with joy. “One step closer to the car park” has made my day. Fantastic comment from granddad.
?
Congratulations Pittcity. ???
Enjoy your hols Sago.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a sunny NE ?
Family came yesterday but not GD1, she stayed at home to get on with her art, her college course demands a lot of her time. GD2 went for a walk with her parents to photograph the colours of autumn, she got some beautiful pictures. I think she said it was for a photography competition. She came home with a pocket full of conkers.
I made a large cottage pie and we had dinner together before GD retired to the music room to practise the piano, the moonlight sonata is coming along very nicely.
She told me that her tutor was entering her for a music scholarship, not sure whether that means a reduction in school fees or just the music tuition.
SIL is coming this afternoon and we are going to a concert by the London Philharmonic.
Dinner tonight is Tartiflette courtesy of Michel Roux, SIL took delivery from Dishpatch so that we didn't have to cook from scratch.
Happy Birthday and anniversary Pittcity flowers
Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but nippy Carlisle. We are due a storm and rain around lunchtime so I'm aiming to pop out shortly and plant a few more bulbs in the front border. I was out there yesterday afternoon topdressing my pathetic lawn with the composted down turves from the back lawn. Full of lovely worms!
Other than that, a lazy day finishing off the papers is to follow.

Good to hear your news about your little one Greyduster. I hope he's soon home.
And have a lovely day, Pittcity.

A pleasant Sunday to all of you.

Good morning from sunny Sefton at the moment, I don't think it'll last.
A late start for me after a disturbed night. It always makes me feel groggy so it's a good job it's a no plans day. If it stays dry I will potter in the garden.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from sunny Chelmsford, where we have woken up in a hotel room. Today is my birthday and our wedding anniversary ( done on purpose so DH has no excuse to forget)
My ACs had planned a surprise dinner with 30 of our close family last night. They led me off the trail by taking me to Bingo followed by a cocktail in Colchester yesterday afternoon. DS then drove us to Chelmsford.
DSiL is driving us home after breakfast and we'll spend the rest of the day recovering.
Thank you for your good wishes. I really enjoy all the love on GN.
Sending love and virtual hugs to you all ? x

Good hear, Greyduster, thank goodness!

Good morning everyone from a beautiful clear sunny Algarve. I don’t sleep well generally but last night was extreme with not dozing off until after 4.00am and awake again by 8.00. I knew I wanted to watch the Lisbon Marathon as my grandson is competing., DH blithely said “Go back to sleep.” before switching the television on! I’ve not exactly got a chance to see him in the crowd so I’ll catch up with family photographs later. DD and SiL and grandsons partner are staying in Lisbon to support him. ShazzaKanazza I don’t know your backstory but I do hope you get together with your grandson one day. ?.

I’m glad you had such a moving and beautiful day grandMattie.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 09-Oct-22 08:43:13

Good morning from another beautiful sunny day in Oxfordshire.

We are off to Bristol to take MissOopsie to lunch and see how she is settling into University life, taking a ‘Red Cross parcel’ (as my Mum used to call her bags of food that she always brought up to us) of homemade cakes and some bits and pieces, I think we will have to drop her back to her Halls as the bag is quite heavy. We haven’t seen her since July so it will be good to catch up.

Have a lovely day everyone and hugs for those who aren’t so chipper.

Jaxjacky Sun 09-Oct-22 08:37:23

I’m pleased yesterday went well gMattie your afternoon snooze was a good idea.
Taking daughters car a day early today for its MOT tomorrow, she’ll be borrowing mine, so I’ll be carless, I hope hers passes.
I’ve got some garden tidying to do either today or tomorrow, including mulching.
Enjoy your day with some ??

A beautiful sunny and blue sky morning in Oxfordshire once again. Yesterday DD1 and I spent a lovely afternoon sitting in the sunshine drinking tea and catching up. She is looking well and although still tired, she is progressing well after the months of treatment.
Today DH and I will do a long walk with dog, we will take a picnic and enjoy the wonderful autumn day, I will then cook a roast for tonight.
May you all find some sunshine and laughter today.

Urmstongran Sun 09-Oct-22 08:28:35

As his Grandad put it - he’s one step closer to the car park!

That comment really made me laugh Greyduster your husband is obviously witty and it was such a great take on things! I’m so pleased you had this good news to share with us.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 09-Oct-22 08:24:23

Morning all

Another beautiful blue sky and a dry day forecast here (19’) in S E Essex.

We are pipping down to middle son’s later to see how their extension is coming on, then we will stop for a late Sunday Lunch on our way home.

Happy birthday birthday PittCity and Happy Anniversary to you both ???

Grandmabatty Sun 09-Oct-22 08:23:00

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dark clouds are massing. The forecast isn't good. Happy birthday to Pittcity and happy anniversary too. Marydoll once a teacher! It's very hard not to get involved when you see something needs fixing. Ashcombe 'Cold Comfort Farm' is so funny. It's one of my favourite books.
Yesterday I did the housework and then snoozed most of the afternoon. Today I'll have to go to Aldi for food and get the hoover out as there are leaves and bits of leaves in the kitchen and living room. Later dd is dropping in with the boys. I'll look forward to seeing them. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton. Just enjoying a mug of tea before the DGDs surface; sausages ready and waiting to go on once they do for sausage butties!

Had a nice day with them yesterday; took younger DGD to the shops for a drink and cake in the morning - I was supposed to be taking my summer duvet to the cleaners, but got on the bus and realised it was still sitting in the hall at home. Elder DGD arrived from her dance classes mid afternoon. Then I helped the younger one with her music homework - she needed to practice and play a simple fanfare, so we had fun sat at the piano, ended up playing it as a duet.

After dinner we enjoyed Strictly, then the girls drifted off to bed and I caught up with some tv.

No plans.for today; the girls will walk home later this morning, and I may have a walk to the garden centre this afternoon. Or stay in, read the papers and do some knitting. Or attack the garden.....

Have a pleasant Sunday everyone; a very happy birthday ? and anniversary to Pitt - hope you have a lovely day. flowersflowers

Good morning all and it’s a bright start here in Essex. We’ve had such lovely autumn days recently and the countryside is beautiful.??.

Yesterday was lovely. Our old friends Golden Wedding get together. Great to see ‘old’ faces . Their two daughters worked so hard, waiting on us all and letting their parents sit and chat. Both are poorly with Parkinson’s and mobility problems.
Some of us had been at the wedding and we reminisced about the day, when we were young , healthy and carefree! A bit emotional too.

A quiet day today - walk the dog, read the papers and cook dinner. Lovely.

Happy celebrations Pitt ???.

GM I’m glad yesterday went well for you all. ?.

Grey Lovely to hear your premmie is progressing well. I love grandads positive ‘one step closer to the car park’ . ❤️.

Sago Enjoy your final day with your family and stage journey home tomorrow. ?

Hoping you all have a lovely day. ???

Good morning all from Glasgow. I have no idea what the weather is like, for I am lying in a darkened room, with teeth crunching Dollie lying asleep beside me.
We have been battling with the covers all night, she likes them off, I like them on. She of course won! ?

Yesterday DD and SIl came for lunch, but stayed to entertain her ladyship, when they saw how unwell I was, after my jags. I didn't want to cancel and spoil DS1's birthday. I felt absolutely awful, so much so that I never made the vigil Mass last night. A very rare occurrence.
Dollie's comment, when I said we weren't going, was Whew, thank goodness for that!. ?

Today I have to go to church, to ensure that all safeguarding protocols are in place for the new children's group, the facilitators appear a tad uniformed when it comes to safeguarding procedures. I would rather lie in bed!
I intend to put on my teacher hat, I had noticed some children ( on the autistic) were overwhelmed. That needs addressed.
I have no connection with the group, but I have been volunteered to support them.
After helping them out, I'm taking a step back from it, not quite my thing!

The afternoon will be spent resting, I think!

I'm glad to hear everything went well yesterday, GM.
Enjoy the double celebrations today, the Pitts! ????

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone.
