Hello Helenlouise and welcome to the carefree joys of retirement! To start with it's like a holiday with no end in view ......
advice please DGS requires speech therapy
Good Morning Everyone,
A dark and wet start here in brackley this morning.
Today I will do the bus to Bicester , as I have 3 days of Hospital visits in various locations from tomorrow until Thursday .
This is a build up to my day surgery next week , where I am likely to have a few days in hospital but we will see.
Take Care,
Mick
Hello Helenlouise and welcome to the carefree joys of retirement! To start with it's like a holiday with no end in view ......
It's a gorgeous day in West Wales. The sun is shining and there's still colour in the garden. I've had a 2 1/2 mile walk with hubby and the dog and done the ironing. As someone that's newly retired-2 weeks, that's all I intend doing today
A beautiful sunny Essex despite a wet early start. Garden makeover continues (lovely view of mud currently, it'll be worth it ) so no place to put washing out. Picked up new clothes horse from supermarket this morning and put it out the front. Hope the neighbours don't mind. Smalls camouflaged by a throw over the top! Not leaving the house for the rest of the day and waiting on cake to come out of the oven
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
After a day reclining yesterday with after effects of booster jab, I’m intending to get cracking today.
My expanding clothes airer I use outside collapsed with broken legs so have ordered another. Nice face time with sister in the south and reading the book I have set for our Bookgroup, which I’m enjoying and must time so don’t finish it too early.
The house is cold here directly facing the Irish Sea, but I’m coping with the halogen heaters so far.
Congratulations kittylester and thoughts to anyone with troubles.
Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Yes, take care, Mick you don’t want COVID upsetting the applecart.
Marydoll you really have to look after yourself as well.
Today I had intended to go to a walk in chemist for flu jabs, but have decided I don’t want my 5hours in Edinburgh tomorrow to be feeling fluey. Hoping to go to the gallery of Modern Art2. The modern art one was fabulous. That was before covid!!
Taking a trip to Ripon this morning, probably when I’ve got the washing to hang out not much morning left!
Have the best day possible folks
Happy Anniversary to you both Kittyhope you feel well enough to enjoy it. We had a lovely view of Jupiter last night your photo is real y good Greyduster .We had a lovely meal at Dds yesterday ,empty today oh out with friends we are expecting parcel deliveries today so I will stay in ..Have good day everyone.

Morning from sunny S Lanarkshire. I’ve been reading over the last week but later on in the day so haven’t managed to post.
I’ve had a lovely time staying with Oban daughter and family. The weather was dreadful but it was so nice to have time with them all, I hadn’t seen them since our holiday at the end of May. They also are starting a two week ‘tattle howkin’ holiday today. Sometimes they go away at this time but DSiL goes back out to the oil rigs tomorrow.
I was so glad to read about the improvement in your little grandson’s condition Greyduster, I had been thinking about him.
Congratulations on your anniversary Kittylester, I hope you both have a lovely day.
I’m off to visit my optician later, I got (expensive) new lenses last week and something isn’t quite right, I think it may be the way the angle my glasses are sitting at,?that can be adjusted.
Then post school granny duties, I’m looking forward to that.
Wishing everyone a good day ???
Good morning from a grey, wet morning in W Kent. A day of cleaning and packing so will just ignore the weather.
Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Kitty
Love all the different photos.
I do agree with Georgesgran Mick don't get caught out so near to your op.
Morning all. It's a beautiful sunny day here in the Angus coast and I'm sitting in the blazing warm sunshine in the front sunroom enjoying the warmth - but missing the view over sea and hills that I have from the north facing garden room
Enjoy your day out before all your medical appointments Mick. And Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Kitty. That's an amazing photo of Jupiter Greyduster. And what a beautiful little poppet your DGD is, Grandmadinosaur. Enjoy her - they grow up so amazingly quickly! And Grandmattie I'm so glad all went well yesterday - bitter sweet I know, but with wonderful memories
I had a lovely breakfast meet-up yesterday with my youngest Dgd and DD. DGD will soon be 17 and is 'on the waiting list' for her first driving lesson. Dgd1's first Dance Intensive weekend was a resounding success by all reports. I've only seen a photo of the group so far - the usual starburst of arms, legs and long hair!
A big clear-out of the upstairs bedroom today as the window replacement people are coming back tomorrow to re-do some of their work - one of the big windows, which was always difficult to close at the handle side, now closes there but is open at the other side! Fat lot of good that! I only noticed during the last blast of North wind. Let's hope it is soon - and permanently! - sorted.
I haven't managed to read all the posts yet but hope to pop back later. Have the best day you can all x
Good morning from a sunny NE after a rainy night.
Really enjoyed the London Philharmonic concert at the Sage, only downside was the length of time it took to exit the car park.
We had our dinner of tartiflette and a pleasant bottle of rose wine and then watched the final of young musician. Disappointed at the result, the pianist was superb.
Happy anniversary kitty and Mr k enjoy if you can.
Sorry to hear about Rocky Georgesgran.
Another here telling you to ease up on your outings Mick, you really need to take care before hospital procedures.
DD is still testing positive for covid but her sick note ran out in Belgium and she was supposed to return to work. Powers that be really do not care, when she was ill they made her travel to a pharmacy for an official test and Dr insisted on seeing her face to face for sick note
Day of housework for me.
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
We "regretfully" declined the invitation Gingster. We are very much not a choir but a group for those of us that can't sing in key/can't hold a tune/ the moaners & the groaners. We really are a cats chorus! But we do have fun.....just not in public.
Good Morning everyone, a slightly cloudy start to the day here with rain forecast about midday. I hope we do get some today as it’s been threatened all week and maybe clear skies will be back after that.
The family have another day in Lisbon today after DGS’s successful run in the marathon then return to UK in the evening.
Physio for us this morning, not much else planned yet.
I’ll read and catch up with you all later.
So sorry to hear about Rocky Georgesgran ?
Good morning everyone from a lovely sunny Co Armagh,
I gave in and put the heating to auto last night , oh the bliss of a warm bathroom !
I have a streaming cold , a 2 boxes of tissues job , but starting to feel more human this morning , shopping this morning, I’ll wear a mask , it will stop me scaring the horses and excuse my hacking cough !
Wishing you well for all the tests and procedures this week Mick
I saw the moon these last few nights and the bright star beside it , that’s an amazing photo Greyduster
Hope today bings some relief Marydoll

Pitt if he gets a clearer photo than mine I would really love to see it. My lens was at its zoom optimum and I was pleased it showed anything.
He says that it was too hazy to get a clear shot, unfortunately. The rain clouds were gathering here last night. It was amazing just looking with the naked eye.
Lost my first post but it’s still remains bright and clear here in Durham this morning. An awful day yesterday, which resulted in DD2’s beautiful Rocky, my darling grand dog being put to sleep. He had given us 13 wonderful years and we will all miss him so much.
Mick I feel I need to be blunt, but is it not time you stopped gallivanting and self isolated in view if your planned surgery? I am taking a friend and her husband to the Freeman this afternoon where he is having an operation tomorrow and he hasn’t been over the doorstep for a week, under doctors orders. In mitigation, I can only say that a lot of GNs are concerned for your health.
Best wishes to all.
Good morning all from a lovely sunny Black country.
Happy Anniversary to *Mr and Mrs Kitty*? hope you are feeling a bit better.
We are waiting to hear from friend to see if his operation will go ahead tomorrow after having the flu last week, the anaesthetist is phoning sometime today.
I took a bag of crockery and glassware to charity shop yesterday Urms it's surprising how much you accumulate and dont use.
Enjoy your Monday everyone and may you all find some ?.
Pitt if he gets a clearer photo than mine I would really love to see it. My lens was at its zoom optimum and I was pleased it showed anything.
Good Morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. We had a very rainy evening and night here yesterday but no strong winds. I went out after breakfast and planted yet more bulbs though I needn't have rushed as it stayed dry during the daylight hours.
Today the usual round of housework and laundry and quite a bit of admin. Maybe more gardening after lunch.
I hope you enjoy the day kittylester, happy anniversary!
Have a good day all.
Good morning all and it’s dark and very wet here in Essex.
We did a lot more clearing in our very small garden here. It’s amazing how long it can take to cut back shrubs, etc. DS1 said ‘how can you spend so long gardening, mum, it’s so small!’. ?.
Today I have Chiming group. Like you Gala we will be performing at the U3A Christmas show! Always chaotic and hilarious. But who cares! ?. Also the U3A choir , which I’ve recently joined will be singing a few festive songs. I hate performing but will go with the flow! ???. It’s all good fun.
Grandmadinosaur how sweet! ?.
Happy anniversary Mr and MRS Kitty . ?.
Brilliant pic Grey.
GM I loved the musical ‘Six’. Very clever!
Marydoll sleep when you need to.. Your body is telling you!
Hope you feel better soon. ?
We’ll it’s still raining so the garden will be grateful!
Have a good day, all. ???
Your photo is lovely Grandmadinosaur so pleased you had a lovely day yesterday. X
Good morning Mick and All. Glad you have all your medical appointments sorted.
A very happy 52 WA MrandMrsKitty. ??.
A wet start and sunshine promised here in South Bucks.
Morning Mick and all
It is drizzly here in S E Essex, off to the gym this morning, than popping up to a local retail park (Mayflower) to pick up the Christmas Bedding and Christmas cushions for the sitting room (I know I have turned into a flipping Christmas Elf)
Happy anniversary to Kittylester and her husband, I hope you are feeling better ??
I hope Monday brings you some joy folks ?♀️?
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is shining at the moment.
Happy anniversary Kitty.
Fabulous photo Greyduster.
We visited DD and her gang yesterday, their house is still in uproar but is going to be beautiful when all the work is finished. It was so lovely to catch up with all the childrens’ news, we had a couple of hours of chat and laughter, what a tonic.
Daft dug has to visit the vet this morning she has developed what I think is a cyst at the top of her hind leg so we need to have it checked.
Other than that we’ll have a quick trot around the supermarket and try to find some inspiration for meals this week.
Have a good day everyone.
