DH is driving me mad because I can’t get his normal coffee brand

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? DH will only drink Tesco French inspired dark roast Arabica coffee -strong coffee (number 5 in a pink pack of 10) and I can’t get them online or in shops. Any coffee aficionados out there with the same tastes who can point me in the direction of a suitable replacement please?

NotAGran55 Thu 13-Oct-22 18:50:10

Presume you mean a suitable replacement husband?

kittylester Thu 13-Oct-22 18:57:20

Fleurpepper first of all you talk about him being aggressive to the Op's friend, or disrupting the daughter's wedding then.

Why do you assume the worst - very emotive.

Hithere Thu 13-Oct-22 19:20:03

If you were his employee, he wouldnt pay you enough for these demands

As your dh, tell him to look for the coffee himself

Unacceptable behaviour either way

Callistemon21 Thu 13-Oct-22 19:21:51

Let him drink tea!!

Seriously, I have a favourite coffee but it seemed to be unavailable so i ordered a different kind in last week's order. Who knows - I might prefer it!

Oh dear- I explained, those other cases were on other threads today- about men being very unpleasant. One to a Gnetter's friend, another to his grand-daughter, and now about nonsense like coffee type. The 'emotive' response was due to wondering why so many women put up with men who are so controlling or unpleasant. Perhaps you have not read the other threads.

In this case, we just don't know how the reaction was, from a mild 'what a shame you got a different coffee' to 'whyt did you buy this much for, you witch (or worse).

As Hithere says, unacceptable behaviour and why put up with it?

dragonfly46 Thu 13-Oct-22 19:40:29

I would buy him a Nespresso machine for Christmas. They make the best coffee!

Fleurpepper Thu 13-Oct-22 19:42:17

That is another story altogether. Hugely expensive coffee pods and terrible for the environment ;)

Panic over!
In stock

I must remember to take it out of my basket.

Everyone has their favourite something or other, and yes I’d try and find it for my DH the same as if I wanted a particular thing he would do the same for me, difference is my DH wouldn’t be driving me crazy and nor would I him, we would just accept if couldn’t find it then try other types till got something we liked,

Fleurpepper Thu 13-Oct-22 19:43:43

This ... exactly, thanks.

Not sure how we are all suddenly talking about bullying on this thread. There is nothing to suggest it in the OPs words. I just took it to mean that she wondered if anyone on here could suggest an alternative.Maybe her husband is doing the same elsewhere. Sadly he may have to do without if he can’t find a replacement to his taste but at the moment the OP seems just to be looking for advice from fellow coffee lovers. I can’t help as I hate the stuff.

kittylester Thu 13-Oct-22 19:46:20

Are the threads related? I haven'r read the other threads so I was just replying on this one

And, surely, we all know now why women often stay with abusive men

MawtheMerrier Thu 13-Oct-22 19:50:41

Isn’t it time somebody said “LTB” ?

Prentice Thu 13-Oct-22 19:53:52

My oh my!
The OP was simply trying to source this coffee, there is no need for exaggerated made up accounts of her husband’s motives or behaviour, and no need for feminist rants either.
Many of us want our husbands and families to be happy with their favourite foodstuffs.
‘Driving me mad’ is just a phrase we use.

Prentice Thu 13-Oct-22 19:55:13

MawtheMerrier thank you for some light relief grin

I think lots of people have said that - more or less

Wow - I have seen no feminist or LTB comments here.

Even sadder if comments saying 'don't put up with this nonsense' adds up to either.

No, the 3 threads are not related- they just came one after the other and resulted in my saying 'why'.

If there are no reasons for concerns here why follow on with ''And, surely, we all know now why women often stay with abusive men'' ?

Well, I did say "Let him drink tea"!

We don't know anything about Gr8dame or her husband apart from the fact that she does the food ordering (so do I, I'm very controlling ?), Tesco was temporarily out of stock of his favourite coffee and hd had probably kept asking her if it's back in stock yet.

YES IT IS, GR8DAME, PANIC OVER!

Prentice Thu 13-Oct-22 20:19:03

But, you know, it has made me want to order some of this coffee to see what it is like, obviously very nice.

notgran Thu 13-Oct-22 20:46:45

If you go on-line now, it is there in stock. Problem solved, next grin

Perfect solution, excellent coffee. I start the day with a kick start espresso. Still waiting for George Clooney to pop in one of theses mornings. ?
