Good Morning Everyone,
Dark and cold outside here in brackley but dry .
My trip to the JR in Oxford , has seen changes as to what happens next , because I am anemic , they want my blood to build up before any surgery can take place.
So no operation on Monday , I will instead see the Anie statist and do blood checks maybe more iron infusion .
Take Care,
Mick

Harrigran ?.

Welcome, Starlyte! Hope to see you pop in again!

Starlyte Fri 14-Oct-22 14:37:55

I saw this heading, and I hope you don't mind my joining you.
Good day to all the Grans out there.
Here, in SW France it's pretty chilly for the time of year, and was pouring this morning. I came here for the weather, but it's a rip off. Although I stayed, as it was over 40 years ago, the weather in winter can be horrible. Also with a drop of rain here everything stops!
I have a tummy bug, so I won't hang around, except to wish you a good end of the working week, for those who still do, and a lovely week end.
By the way, when I was pregnant the doctor told me to take Vit E to stave off anaemia. They are quite cheap in gellule and worked for me.

Too late......again, here in a damp N.,Cambs.,

Build your strength up in readiness for your surgery, Mick.

flowers for harrigran.

Take care all, especially those with ill health & worries.

I've taken a walk to our big Tesco and joined a short queue for a Covid booster...no need to faff with appointments now. Nobody is wearing mask. I did wear one when I got an x-ray on Wednesday (which was inconclusive) but there was no enforcement.

Good morning from a fine, sunny Algarve. Best time of year, as long as it’s not raining.

I’m glad your daughter is doing well Oops and I can’t say that without crossing my fingers too.?

Grandmadinosaur, my DH had something a bit similar happen to him many years ago. It was very nasty and really shook his confidence in himself. It was probably the start of the long story that had us eventually moving to Portugal. Best wishes to you both, I know it’s difficult. flowers

Good morning from a damp Oxfordshire, disappointing news Mick I suspect you will need a stronger dose of Iron than diet will provide.
MissOops is doing well, unlike last time when she had all sorts of problems resulting in visits to A&E. Fingers crossed all continues to go as planned.
So sorry that so many GNs are going through bad times.
Hugs and ?to you all.

Good morning everyone from a sunny Co Armagh, not been out but I don’t think it’s very cold
I’m still testing positive , so no visitors , no outings , getting used to it
Eldest has me txting every morning to prove I’m still alive I think that’s ver much overkill !
I had a txt last night saying I Had been in contact with Covid and a number to ring , but my ap told me last week it has stopped contacting people so I guess it’s a scam ?
Harrigan it would have been our Anniversary last weekend too , it did give me pause
Marydoll I hope the appointment goes better than you expect
Bags no words xxx
It’s been an hour since I started typing , youngest was on the phone
I know many are sad just now , prayers will be said xxx

Good Morning all from bright and dry Harrogate.
Sorry about your disappointment, Mick you need to get a jar of vecon, with from a health food shop or internet. It's a vegetarian stock paste which you can make stocks for stews, spread on toast or make a drink with it. It specially for vegetarians who often miss out on iron containing foods.
Pleased with you new Ladyleftfieldlover. Haven't read all the posts yet, will catch up later. Hoping to go to an Art Fair in Harrogate today, dragging DH with me. His fault for stopping me driving!
This pm I have DGD coming after school. I'm making a point of not allowing her to watch TV until we have had an activity. Apparently she's having remedial lessons for reading, so will try to get her reading. She loves colouring in, but that doesn't help with reading.
Hope your RA appointment is painless Marydoll
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning Mick and everyone. Another cold bright morning in this corner of Lancashire.

I had a similar iron problem before my cancer surgery too Mick. I had an appointment with the anaesthetist and a second iron infusion, with the surgery following a few days later. I hope you don’t have to wait long.

I had my annual eye exam yesterday. My vision is deteriorating but could be improved with surgery, so I’m being referred to the new super Lancashire Eye Centre in Chorley. New glasses should also help, so I have handed over a huge sum of money (maybe the lenses are ground from enormous diamonds!) and the new glasses will be here in 3 to 4 weeks.

My hands are now almost completely clear and much less painful today. Mr. B and I are off out for a pub lunch. It’s a place we haven’t tried before in the village where one of our nieces lives.

Great news LadyLFL, that must be a weight off your mind.

Hope today’s appointment goes well and they can do something to help Marydoll.

Well done on the weight loss Urms, just in time for your next holiday too smile.

Thinking of Baggs and family. A poignant day Harrigran flowers?

Have the best day you can all. ??

Good morning everyone from a grey and damp Northampton. I am so late this morning; dozed in bed and thought it was 8am when I got up only to find it was 9 o'clock!

Didn't do too bad at dance classes yesterday, considering I'd missed two weeks. Except I am about half a step behind everyone else, as I just cannot remember the routines! When I got home I had a look to see what films were coming up at our local art-house cinema, and found a couple to book. One called 'Emily' about Emily Bronte, and a whodunit, 'The Glass Onion' starting Daniel Craig.

Will have a bus ride to our little local retail park this morning, have a coffee and cake in M&S Food, and a wander around the shops. Then this afternoon I must get my teeth into our book for this month, 'Sorrow and Bliss' by Meg Mason.

Have a good Friday everyone.

Grandmabatty Fri 14-Oct-22 09:42:06

Thank you Taichinan. The dreams involved two good friends being nasty which they definitely would not!

Nannagarra Fri 14-Oct-22 09:37:25

harrigran ?
Happy birthday wishes to Gala’s DGD and MrSar.
???
How appalling for Mrdinosaur.

Marydoll Fri 14-Oct-22 09:27:01

Urms, I'm at the clinic masks are mandatory and being handed out a the front door of the hospital with signs everywhere.
I wonder why the rules are so different.
I know what I prefer. Its a small price to pay for keeping safe.

Taichinan Fri 14-Oct-22 09:18:38

Harrigran enjoy your happy memories today.
Lovely photos Nannyjan
Sorry about your bad dreams Grandmabatty. I never remember my dreams, but this morning I woke up with the words "a stick of rock and a dirty window ledge" ringing in my head. ?????

Nannagarra Fri 14-Oct-22 09:08:17

Good morning from sunny Sefton.
Sorry to hear of a further complication for you Mick; may it all be speedily resolved.
Getting the house back into some sort of order post decorating plus finishing touches will occupy me today.
As I often find nowadays, I post then go back to read everyone's news. Enjoy Friday and the sunshine if possible.

Georgesgran Fri 14-Oct-22 09:07:35

? from me too Harrigran x

Taichinan Fri 14-Oct-22 09:06:57

Good morning all from a sunshine-and-showers sort of day in the Angus coast. 10° so not too cold.
Oh dear Mick, I'm so sorry. Just when things seemed to be going smoothly at last.
Good news for you ladyleftfield, and happy birthday to Mr Sar and Gala's GD2.
I'm off out to lunch with an old young friend today - my late partner's ex DiL. Lots of gossip and chat to look forward to in lovely surroundings way up country. A long drive along a long, straight old drovers' road is involved, to an equally old drovers' inn where the food is always good. Then on Sunday I'm off in the other direction to St Andrews to watch DD's New Man's sons kite surfing or sand surfing (or something) on the West Sands. Oh, and tomorrow there's a visit from Dancing GD and friend + car and newly-achieved driving licence! I think by Monday I shall be a highly satisfied gibbering wreck! Building lots of happy memories for the cold winter months - but why does everything in my life happen at once!
So off I trot, with thoughts for those going through hard times just now ???. They will pass - they always do x
