Good Morning Everyone,
Dark and cold outside here in brackley but dry .
My trip to the JR in Oxford , has seen changes as to what happens next , because I am anemic , they want my blood to build up before any surgery can take place.
So no operation on Monday , I will instead see the Anie statist and do blood checks maybe more iron infusion .
Take Care,
Mick

Gd morning from a dark, dry E Kent.
What bad luck, Mick. Lots of spinach? Hope the iron levels go up soon.
Quiet day yesterday, though DL had visitors. She seems more proficient at manoeuvring her wheelchair round the awkward bends in the house. She is looking at three apartments - at least her friends are. There is only one I consider suitable as she is very sociable and likes to have friends to stay, two beds is the only option.
Early dog walk with my friend this morning, then various bits and bobs,
Thanks, Marydoll, for the advice regarding my wireless printer. It turned our all I needed do was reboot my router! At least, it is working now.
Hugs to everyone who needs one,. Be happy.today. Carpe diem. ???❤️

Morning all from a still dark West Oxfordshire. Winter draws on indeed! After yesterday’s colonoscopy shenanigans (they found nothing sinister smile ) I am having a quieter day. OH is out shooting (targets not animals) so I can relax. Son and his family are coming to stay this evening and he has offered to cook dinner. My cleaners came yesterday so all I have to do is sort out the guest room and pop to the local shop and buy some salad stuff. I hope we all have a good day.

Ashcombe Fri 14-Oct-22 06:15:43

Good morning, all from a cloudy but mild Torbay.

It must be disappointing for you, Mick, but at least you’ll be stronger beforehand which will help with your recovery. Are you still taking iron tablets? You must be relieved to have that positive news, Ladyleftfieldlover.

A day of pottering with a brief outing to local shops for me is planned. I hope today brings hope to those with cares and worries, especially about the health of loved ones. Thoughts with Baggs ?

?????

BlueBalou Fri 14-Oct-22 06:17:53

Good morning, it’s a dark, dry corner of Wiltshire here ?
That’s a pain Mick I hope it gets sorted quickly for you.
I had a very enjoyable time discussing designs with a jeweller yesterday, and trying on the most exquisite rings ??
I’m having my engagement ring reset, I can’t wear it it’s too small, and various other bits done. I can’t wait to see it!
Today there’s nothing planned at all, I do need to do some housework though……
Have a lovely day everyone x

Grammaretto Fri 14-Oct-22 06:36:45

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still dark but not too cold
That's such good news Ladyleftfieldlover!

Not so good for you Mick but Ash is right, the iron will help with recovery. Those surgeons know what they are doing.

My new boiler is on the wall. There's just the electric stuff to do now.

Have good Friday folks. smile

Good morning from Essex by the sea. I'm not sure what the weather is doing as its still dark.
It's DH's birthday today and we are going out to a new, to us, restaurant this evening. Looking forward to it.
DH went to visit his best friend in hospital yesterday and spent 40 minutes trying to find somewhere to park. His friend was very pleased to see him when he finally appeared.
Have a lovely Friday everyone, love to all xx

God morning all from a wet Glasgow, where its only 8°C.
I'm sorry to hear your op has been postponed Mick, but wise to build you up before your op. I hope it won't be too long to wait.

GM, glad its working! That's a strange one, were all your other devices working?
I had a similar problem with the church photocopier yesterday, which had gone offline. The PP had no idea that he could use the photocopier, to print from the parish PC. The only thing was, when I got the copier working, I was able to show him, the error log, showing a number faults.
He things I'm a genius, ? but not too happy at having to call out an engineer.

I spent a fair amount of time uploading the parish census, I couldn't believe how quickly my dormant IT skills came back. I used to tutor teachers for the LA, in using Microsoft Access, but thought I had forgotten everything.
I quite enjoyed the brain workout, I know, I am very odd! ?
The afternoon was spent dozing again. What a waste of an afternoon, so hoping my cardiology appointment comes soon and I can hopefully get some of my oomph back.

I have an early RA appointment, which means we will get caught in all the traffic at the busiest and most confusing junction in Glasgow. DH gets so agitated!
I was on the Rolls Royce of RA medication, which had to be stopped because of the rare damage caused to my internal organs, so it will be interesting to hear what my consultant has to say and offer. I can't have steroids either at the moment, which would help my pain levels.
The last time, I tried a new RA medication, I had a severe allergic reaction and a heart attack, so I am obviously very cautious.

For those with troubles and sorrow, (and there are many), you are in my prayers and good luck if you have a medical appointment.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 14-Oct-22 07:01:17

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. Just seen the most gorgeous sunrise with the deepest of orange skies.

More pottering yesterday. A nice coffee out in the sun and a lovely time with GS after school. He’s a little charmer. On leaving he told me he loved me and when it’s Valentines Day he wants to spend time with me because he loves me ?

Today I have a workman coming early doors. It’s to connect us to a different broadband company. Quite ironic since it’s my husbands company. The same one who since getting new investors on board are now trying to oust him. Due to that it’s been a horrible few months. They have been quite brutal and made the situation such that he wants to be out and he is now going down the legal route to do so. Oh happy days.

Thoughts to all with good and not so with medical issues.
Baggs has never been far from my thoughts ?

A dark start but it looks dry here in Oxfordshire, yesterday was very misty until late afternoon, then the sun came out. A busy working week, but I'm working at home today which is nice. Need a vet check up for dog, he seems under the weather.
Expecting a big Sainsburys order at lunchtime, lots of cake making provisions as I'm making 2 Xmas cakes and also DD1's celebration/ birthday cake for next weekend.

You are in very good hands at the Churchill Mick it is a world leading cancer centre, I know from experience, unfortunately.
Wishing you all a peaceful Friday.

baubles Fri 14-Oct-22 07:15:33

Good morning all from dark South Lanarkshire, I think it’s dry outside.

Work today for four hours. I am tired after yesterday though, DS, DDoutL & DH were moving furniture around and doing various bits of DIY while I looked after the children. We didn’t get home till after eight.

Thanks for your concern for my relative, they are being seen by someone from the mental health support team today. It was very nearly a tragic outcome.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from Durham where it’s barely light. I set off at the crack of dawn to sit in a cold, empty house awaiting a visit from the water board. The window is 7 AM to 1 PM so I’ve everything crossed that the engineer is an early bird!
Sorry to hear about your cancelled op Mick - such a nuisance - I hope your iron levels rise soon.
My friends DH is quite unwell after his operation and is to have no visitors. However, he is running short of essentials, so I’ll take some through for him later.
Hoping for a good weekend. X

Greyduster Fri 14-Oct-22 07:27:44

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a chilly South Yorkshire where the sun is just putting in an appearance. Mick sorry about the surgery setback. Lots of iron rich veg on the menu I think. The heating has come on this morning, so at least I know the new boiler is doing it’s stuff but the plumber needs to come back today because the thermostat is not the right one. I had just got my head round programming the other one! Then I have to write him a large cheque?!
Cleaning today, and then some fresh air as I wasn’t outside enough yesterday.
My thoughts to all who have burdens to bear?.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Gingster Fri 14-Oct-22 07:30:26

Good morning all .
Little DGD stayed last night and slept and ate well. Such a good girl and very resilient - just goes with the flow considering what her mum is going through. I will drop her to school and walk the dog.

Little pooch is at the parlour this morning and lunch out with our Friday pals.

Hoping all your days are good ones. ?

Wyllow3 Fri 14-Oct-22 07:38:43

Morning all from S Yorks

Little fresh air walk planned

Very tired so will just wish all best days possible.

cornergran Fri 14-Oct-22 07:41:18

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset

We were out for a while yesterday once the sun came out, enjoyed it but goodness was exhausted afterwards, getting very irritated with my lack of energy. Can’t blame anaemia as my bloods were deemed ok.

Disappointing news mick if sensible, hope your levels right themselves soon. That’s better news baubles. Happy birthday to your husband sar. Good news ladylfl, enjoy your family time.

My thoughts with all finding life hard going. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Urmstongran Fri 14-Oct-22 07:49:49

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and mild. I’m off to see the practice nurse shortly for my weigh in and hopefully a repeat script of the Orlistat which certainly help me to focus fully on low fat foods. By my scales I’ve lost 5lbs in 3 weeks so I’m delighted although I’ve a long way to go. The surgery has dispensed with mask wearing now. No staff wear them and the huge signs about them has been removed from the huge automatic entrance doors.

After that, I shall walk back through the park, pick up a coffee in the square and head over to the salon to have a manicure ready for our holiday on Monday. Whilst I’m out Himself said he’d make a chilli. Good man.

I can sense your disappointment Mick. Hopefully your iron levels will soon come back up and you can get your op.

Enjoy Friday all who can. x

Pittcity Fri 14-Oct-22 07:51:54

Good morning from a grey skied Colchester. Another damp, mild day..yuk. I can't wait for sunny and crisp!!
DH is off for the weekend so I have time to catch up on stuff. I'll have a pootle around the shops with my birthday vouchers. It's too busy in the City centre at the weekend.
I tried to book my Covid booster as us youngsters under 65 are eligible from today. The only centres are miles away. Hopefully more appointments will be added soon.
Love to all ? x

brook2704 Fri 14-Oct-22 07:57:30

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry just now and looks windy
Hopefully not too long to wait before your operation is rescheduled mick
I had a good day yesterday tidying up more stuff in the garden, there’s not that many leaves down yet though so there will be lots more tidying later. Today I’m off to the gym for a splash around in the pool and then to Tesco for a bit of grocery shopping.
Awww such a little charmer grandmadinosaur
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is kind and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Beechnut Fri 14-Oct-22 08:09:29

Good Morning everyone from dreary Severnside.
Happy Birthday to MrSar ??

I’m off to do the weekly shop. Lots of Christmas goodies appearing I see. I am only looking at them though. I am on a mission to lose some weight mainly for health reasons. I think I’m doing quite well so far.

Disappointing about your op Mick.

Not nice at all for your DH Grandmadinosaur I hope it will be resolved soon. DH had a spell of work bullying and it was an anxious time.

Have the best day you can all ??

Jacs7 Fri 14-Oct-22 08:09:59

Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is grey but dry.

A morning in the garden beckons; have been waiting for stuff to stop flowering but the time has come to plant some bulbs and wallflowers. Need to cutdown some bushes in the front garden as well.

This evening DH and I are going to our local theatre to see “The Thrill of Love” about Ruth Ellis so looking forward to that.

Hope you all have a good day

GrannyGravy13 Fri 14-Oct-22 08:11:00

Morning all

Oh dear Mick that’s disappointing, but better to have your iron levels sorted out first.

I have been awake since 4am, curtesy of an iffy tummy, will not be venturing out today …

Wishing you all a fab Friday ?‍♀️?

Jaxjacky Fri 14-Oct-22 08:14:32

Good morning from a mackerel sky in S Hants, good news for you llfl.
I’m pleased your relative is being seen speedily baubles and hope they get continuous help.
Well done Urmstongran fingers crossed the other scales mirror yours!
We’ve got my children and grandchildren here tomorrow for lunch so I’ll be busy making a bolognaise sauce later and a veggie sauce for lasagna’s. I hope Tesco deliver all the essentials, I have home grown garlic.
Thoughts with those struggling.
Enjoy your day if you can ??

Gala Fri 14-Oct-22 08:18:26

Good morning from Sefton. Damp underfoot and there are some pretty pink clouds about. Late start for me this morning. Wish I could get in 8 hours sleep more often.

GD2's 3rd birthday today. Family birthday lunch in a Chinese restaurant. She has cosmopolitan tastes my granddaughter. But first a dance exercise class & Pilates should pique my appetite.

So disappointing for you Mick, but for the best, as everyone is saying. ?for everyone awaiting hospital appointments or procedures. ((Hugs)) for those that need one. Hope you all have as good a weekend as you can.

Abitbarmy Fri 14-Oct-22 08:22:44

Good morning everyone from a bright and breezy North Yorkshire. Not sure what we’ll do today, DH wants to go for a drive somewhere but I’ve much on my to-do list, his is empty as usual. Funny that. Yesterday’s double jabs were postponed due to staff shortage at the surgery so another 2 weeks to wait. Our twin GC are expected in 4 weeks so I want to have all my jobs done as much as possible and still lots to do in the garden and allotment. We’ve been given more cooking apples so must sort those but the freezer is already very full and haven’t even started on ‘you know what’ baking.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible with much sunshine.
