Don't know what made me think of this today but when I was about 14/15 my strict parents moved to the country. I knew no one and they sent me to Sunday school to try and make friends. The summer bus run to the seaside was the next weekend and though I still had no friends I was told to go and join in.
After about 3 miles the bus stopped and a young man about 18/19 got on. He appeared to have no connection to the church group and may have been a friend of the driver. He sat down beside me and started to chat.
When we got to the church we were told what time to return and everyone went off in their groups leaving the two of us alone. He suggested a walk and took me up into the dunes where he laid his coat down.
We lay in the sun for about 2 hours and had a few kisses and a cuddle. All very sweet and innocent.
We went back for tea but for some reason he didnt get back on the bus and I never saw him again.I still have a piece of blue fluff from his jumper.

A lovely memory of your first kiss, Kircubbin. You describe it so well I can almost see you there! I agree about things appearing to be more innocent, and maybe more romantic in the past. Thanks for sharing.

I love your blue fluff story!

It’s more like a poem or a dream.

It sounds like the film ‘Grease’ smile
I think for many of us, first kisses and first love were definitely more innocent back then.

My first kiss was absolutely revolting, unfortunately

Wild, illicit and delicious and not at all innocent!
