A film I`d love to see again, but don`t remember it ever on TV, is The Hans Christian Anderson Story, starring Danny Kaye. I saw it at the pictures when I was about 11/12, and thought it was lovely.

Anne of the Thousand Days. Glorious film with Richard Burton (that voice!!) and Genevieve Bujold.

I can remember going to see Soldier Blue at the pictures. At the end of the film people seemed to be in shock and no one got up to leave for a couple of minutes.

Hans Christian Anderson has been on TV, so has Mulberry Bush and Sundowners.

The ones you will never see are:
Children of the Damned (1950s)
Billy Budd (Terence Stamp's first film)
The Collector (another Terence Stamp film)
Twisted Nerve (you will never ever see that because it implies a connection between Down's Syndrome and criminal behaviour).

When you say “haven’t been on TV recently”, which channels do you include?
Have you checked Moving Pictures, All 4, Netflix, Amazon Prime, ITV Hub, BBC iPlayer?

Oh yes Kalu I remember An Affair to Remember with Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant it was a real tear jerker.

‘55 Days in Peking’ with Charlton Heston, Lauren Bacall and David Niven;
‘Rebecca’. It never used to be off the tv.
‘Far from the Madding Crowd’ with Julie Christie and Alan Bates.

One hardly anyone else ever seems to have heard of - The Tamarind Seed, with Julie Andrews in her first non-sweet role, and Omar Sharif as the Russian trying to recruit her as a spy - or is he?
Cold War thriller*, with a couple of really good twists. Used to have it on DVD but it somehow acquired a scratch.
*Perhaps more apt now than for quite a few years.
