Morning all from a dry bit of North Leicestershire- about 4 miles from dragonfly.

My antibiotics seem to be working, I slept all night and I feel loads better - just need to rebuild my strength now.

We love our Hive GD.

I was thinking about Urms yesterday when I tackled my holiday ironing. I thought shall I iron all my linen tops and shorts or put them in a drawer and iron them next time I go on hols.
#lazygran won and I chucked them in a drawer to be ironed at a later date.

Good morning all from the Black country where it is torrential rain at the moment, I woke to a lovely rainbow so was hopeful the weather would be kind.
?all goes well for those with flu/covid jabs planned for today, I was achey and nauseous for about 36hrs DH was fine.
Well Saturday is here once again so full English calling will read everyone's happenings later, take care all and enjoy your day may you all find some ?.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where its 7°C

Good luck to all with Covid boosters today. I had the new Moderna one last week and was only off colour for a few days, which was a pleasant surprise, as I had very bad reactions to the previous five. Fingers crossed for you all.
I do however, have a massive bruise at the injection site. Ouch!

A very gentle day for me after yesterday's busyness. (Sp?) The journey was not pleasant and on arriving at 8.45am, there wasn't a single parking space!

My RA appointment went better than I hoped, but unfortunately I cannot be prescribed any additional pain relief, nor steroids, due to my current problems. The only solution available would make me like a zombie, so no thanks!
The news wasn't a surprise, but I did have a tiny glimmer of hope that something could done to dampen down the flare up.

The waiting room is usually bursting at the seams, but there was only me and two other people. I think a lot of appointments are being done by telephone.
I was fortunate to see my new consultant, who was so supportive.
He was shocked and annoyed that I still haven't received my biopsy results, informing me that there are major staffing problems at the hospital, where I had my gastroscopy and that my GP wasn't doing enough to speed things up.
Consequently, he is going to ask the gastro doctors in his own hospital to intervene in my case, as the stomach issues are impacting badly on my other conditions.

The good news, I will eventually start a new type of biologics, but it all depends on the outcome of my appointment with the cardiologist, who will deal with my current issues, before approving it.
Currently, there is no available treatment for my heart condition, but I'm hoping there is a way to slow down the heart failure.

Fingers crossed, I can inject myself with the biologics, I don't fancy monthly visits to hospital and the stressful journey it involves.
Some biologics are unsuitable for those with cardiac issues, so until my cardiology appointment, I'm in limbo. ?
Recently, I have felt abandoned by the NHS and that basically I wasn't worth bothering about.

In the afternoon, a very pleasant IT techie, sorted all the problems with my Diocesan email account.
I wasn't receiving mail from some people and they weren't receiving from me. I thought they were ignoring me! ?
I kept apologising to him for being an old biddy, but he said it had been a pleasure to work with someone, who understood his instructions. So much so, that I got his life story!
I have been putting this off for weeks, so that is one less thing to worry about and life should be easier now.

Glad to hear some of you have heat now. I'm feeling the cold so badly, but the energy costs are making me wary of putting it on the way, we used to. We were quite extravagant!

For those having family day, enjoy. Baubles, I hope your family member got the right support yesterday and starts to make some progress. A sad time for you all.
My thoughts and prayers are with Baggs and her family any anyone else who has sorrow in their life.
Finally, I hope Miss Oops is on the mend and not in too much pain.

Have a good Saturday, everyone.

Good morning all, it’s a dreich wet start to the day here in Glasgow.

DH decided recently he really has no use for a study, before he could change his mind, I jumped at the chance to change it into a cosy snug at the back of the house which gives a lovely view of the garden, perfect for morning kick start espresso. A Robin who sits on a shrub outside the window every morning was brave enough to have a feast on the offering I put out on the ledge and is now sitting watching me through the window.
Simple pleasures.

I felt your joy jump off the page Grammaretto. Of course your heating must stay on at present, you need to test if the new boiler is working. ?
Hoping all went well for you yesterday Marydoll

Nothing pressing on the cards today, foutering about will make a pleasant change after a busy week.

Hoping a good day is ahead for all and as ever, kind thoughts to those having troubling times.

baubles Sat 15-Oct-22 08:46:31

Good morning all from very wet South Lanarkshire.

Enjoy your day Mick.

No plans here except that when I got home from work yesterday the sun was shining brightly, showing up how dirty the windows are, so that’s definitely a job needing done.

I’ve emails to reply to from friends and cousins overseas. Replies are very overdue and I’m feeling guilty.

Glad you’ve got heat at last Grammaretto, it must feel luxurious after so long.

Good luck to all those having boosters today, I hope there are no after effects.

Look after yourselves and have the best day possible everyone.

GrannySomerset Sat 15-Oct-22 08:49:02

Flu jab the highlight of today but currently a lovely morning so I must find a gentle job outdoors I think. The news is so awful that I am back to one bulletin a day in order not to give in to despair. Need to take pleasure in the little things instead of worrying over things I can’t do anything about, but easier said than done.

Wyllow3 Sat 15-Oct-22 08:51:33

Good Morning from a damp overclouded S Yorks.

At least I got a nice walk in yesterday with all the glorious colours. and a good natter with Ex 1.

I've enjoyed reading about everyones Days and situations. May family meets go well, boilers behave, and jabs have as little an impact as possible. (I had mine separately, and no effect at all).

Reading above, yes, its hard to be able to do a lot less than we could!

take care all.

Kalu Sat 15-Oct-22 08:58:19

Encouraging news Marydoll Everything crossed cardio results are in your favour with a pass to start on the new biologcs. Pleased to hear also, your new consultant is supportive and willing to speed up the process for your biopsy results?

dragonfly46 Sat 15-Oct-22 09:01:25

Pleased to hear you had a good night kitty.

Jaxjacky Sat 15-Oct-22 09:01:53

Good morning from a sunny S Hants. Luxuriate in your heat Grammaretto it’s been a long time coming.
We’ve got children and grandchildren here for lunch, lasagnas are half made, it’ll be lovely being together. Later we’ll walk to our local to meet friends, it’s just reopened with a change of owners.
Good luck with all jabs, enjoy family and friends, or your own doings. Thoughts with those struggling ?

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it is bright and sunny.

We had a lovely meal last night for DH's birthday. The staff looked after us so well and the food was delicious.

Shopping this morning, bits and bobs and food. A lazy afternoon I think. Hopefully a delivery of a new iron will arrive today. They tried last evening whilst we were out and took it away again.

Thinking of all with sorrow and illness. xxx

Good morning all from a grey, rainy and blustery Angus coast - 9° outside. I've put the heating on for its morning one-hour boost just to take the chill off, and then after that it's thick jumper time!
It is strange, isn't it, how some have reactions to the jabs and others don't. I had the covid and flu at the same time and had no problems at all. Take heart Grandmattie!
Lovely to enjoy the comfort of a warm house Grammaretto after the saga of the boiler.
Lovely to hear that Miss Oops is making good progress after her knee op.
And Mick so glad you're feeling well as you wait for another date for your op.
I had such a lovely day yesterday. The drive along the drovers' road was glorious, running parallel to the hills and bordered by trees in all their autumn finery. The lunch was lovely - but the company was even better than all that! We talked and laughed for more than three hours and it was so refreshing,. She had found photos of my partner and I together which I hadn't seen before and the memories they evoked were so warm and happy. In one there was a Highland cow in the background and I remembered that there had been two of them and we had christened them Hamish and Elsie (as you do). When we went back there the following Spring there was no Hamish and Elsie, just the farmer planting some hedging. We asked him where they were and he said "Oh aye. They'll be in the freezer now".
Today Dancing GD is driving up with her friend for a walk in her favourite beach and then her favourite pizza takeaway. Luckily the day is due to brighten up ? I'm looking forward to that - and an excuse for putting the heating on for a wee while when we get back from the beach ?
Always thinking about those suffering at the moment ?. Have the best day all x

Found this for us all, GrannySomerset.

Kalu Sat 15-Oct-22 09:45:30

A good night’s sleep at last kitty. Happy to hear you feel so much better, you will be running up and down those stairs in no time. ?

Jacs7 Sat 15-Oct-22 09:53:30

Morning everyone; bit late this morning, but better late than never!

A tip run is the highlight of the day. DH has been removing an overgrown climber which has generated a mountain of wood and debris so will be good to get rid of it.

The visit to our local theatre last night to see The Thrill of Love was very enjoyable and an excellent production.

Glad that some of you have heat, vaccinations and outings. Thinking of Baggs and her family. Hope you all have the best day you can

hulahoop Sat 15-Oct-22 10:10:40

Good morning Mick and everyone. Another cold bright morning in this corner of Lancashire. Plenty of clouds about so I think we’re in for some rain later.

Yesterday started off sunny but was raining heavily by lunchtime. It was too wet and windy for a seaside walk, Mr. B and I had a lovely lunch of delicious and well cooked fish and chips in a friendly village pub. I had a lovely snooze after we were home, it’s getting to be a habit!

Pleased your heating is sorted Grammaretto and I’m slightly envious of your shopping plans Brook. A wander around Smiggle and Claire’s would suit me but I don’t think Mr. B would be interested in taking me grin. It’s a pain being unable to get out and about without help. I can dream though …

Feeling glad that our jabs are done and dusted and no severe side effects. Hope all those having them today have a trouble-free experience.

Thinking of all with troubles, Baggs is never far from my thoughts at the moment flowers

Have the best day you can all. ???

Good morning everyone from a damp Co Armagh
Nothing planned for today ,

Weather is so changeable , I did get out in the garden yesterday , but don’t think I’ll manage it today

Urmstongran Sat 15-Oct-22 10:21:56

This card bought at a shop in the West Highlands made me smile Taichinan!

Auntieflo Sat 15-Oct-22 10:30:25

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Looks like it rained overnight, but is brightening up nicely now.
Nothing much planned for today, except a pop into town and have words with Boots Pharmacy about the over dispensing of one of my meds.
Am trying to eat out of the freezer, as I don't want a lot left in there, when we go away.
Will marinate some chicken pieces in a sauce for tonight.
Gentle thoughts to all who are down in the dumps, or worrying

Have a good day one and all.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Knackered today, Thursday I drove to where I used to have a caravan (100 miles round trip) to revisit favourite spots there and walked my legs off in the countryside. Miss it so much but have decided to make regular trips there. Sad to see the nearby farm shop and apple orchard gone and new building on the go.
Yesterday long band rehearsal with new guitarist and out tonight in nearby city with the gals, drinking (not much) and dancing, yay.Hope you have a nice day Mick and meet your friends.
Thoughts to Baggs? and anyone with worries.

hollysteers Sat 15-Oct-22 11:49:03

Lovely walk near the site of my old caravan.

Litterpicker Sat 15-Oct-22 11:56:57

Good morning from a breezy, sunny coastal West Sussex.

Decided the good weather was a sign we should take the campervan out for an airing. We had a lovely couple of nights in a wood in East Sussex with owls calling (and acorns crashing down on to the van roof ?). No Wi-Fi though, or at least I am unwilling to pay for it when we are away, so I have had a quick catch-up with the news on here. So sorry to hear the devastating news from Baggs,

I went to London yesterday to catch up with my oldest (as in years of friendship) friend. We went to see the redeveloped Battersea Power Station - it was its first day open to the public. It was very lively with musicians and performers. We didn’t bother with the more exclusive shops! The outdoor terrace has lovely views of the river.

Now I must catch up with laundry and food shopping. I need to put together a rather flimsy-looking cold frame bought in Aldi /Lidl (I can’t remember which!) ages ago.
I love the expression on that highland cow, Urmstongran.

Nannagarra Sat 15-Oct-22 11:57:32

The last but not the least gran to give a weather report for our part of the north west. It’s dry and sunny now in Sefton as I bid you all good morning (just within time).
Off to DS’s house to assist with DIY, then to collect ordered fair isle jumpers. ?one of them fits. I do so like the pattern.
Have a good day everyone.
