Good morning from a still dark E Kent.
Very busy day morning. I have to be a5 the vaccination centre for 0925 for my covid booster, but having heard so many stories of reactions, I want to have done my supermarket shop first. So I am leaving before 0800 if I can.
DL is having a visit from a physio friend, who will advise re. Exercise regime,, etc. apparently she should have been on her one leg since day 3, she had the amputation in early August!
I hope your appointment wasn’t too disappointing, Marydoll.
Have a good day. Carpe diem. ????

Ashcombe Sat 15-Oct-22 06:00:34

Good morning from a dry Torbay.

Today I’m having a new TV delivered as my eight year old one hasn’t worked properly for months but I’ve managed by watching online. With pre op isolation from the last week in October then convalescence post op., I think I will be watching rather more than usual!

It sounds like your DL has much ground to make up, grandMattie! I hope you don’t suffer too much post vaccination. In France, DH was advised to take two paracetamol half an hour beforehand. It seems to work for him but not for me!

Have a good weekend, everyone! ?????

karmalady Sat 15-Oct-22 06:04:00

good morning from s somerset. I was soaked yesterday but today will be sunny.

I am also having my covid booster today, at lunchtime and have already taken some ready food out of the freezer and the paracetamols are in a drawer. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Nothing planned for this afternoon nor tomorrow

cornergran Sat 15-Oct-22 06:19:54

Morning Mick, morning All. From what I can see our corner of Somerset is dry and draughty. Some sun forecast later

A down in the dumps day yesterday. Must gather some enthusiasm this morning for a long volunteer meeting. Think Mr C will be pleased to have an empty

Good luck to the covid boosters. Neither of us had an adverse reaction so ?for you.

Hope Saturday is as good as it can be for us all.

Good morning from a still dark NE.
Not like me to be awake this early but my tablet pinged and I can't find the message.
Family sent beautiful flowers yesterday which I was not expecting.
Today is my sister's birthday and we will have a glass of champagne when she visits this afternoon.
Have a good day.

Urmstongran Sat 15-Oct-22 06:36:41

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dark but looks mild enough out - the branches on the trees aren’t bending anyway. The first early morning train of the day is just pulling out of the platform at the train station opposite, on its way to Manchester Oxford Road. No matter the early hour, people were getting off and on. Funny when you think how many locals are still fast asleep.

Nipping over to my stepfather’s this afternoon and taking him a dish of chilli for his tea. He said on the phone yesterday that he’ll exchange it for a wee dram of Dalmore malt each. Excellent. We set off to Málaga on Monday so we won’t see him again till mid November.

Good luck to those getting their Covid boosters today. Strange isn’t it how some folk get a reaction and others not?

Where’s Pantglas and Maw these days? ?

Enjoy Saturday all who can. x

Good morning everyone from a still dark Northampton ; set to be fine and dry today, so I have just put the towels in the washing machine. Woke at 6 this morning, and normally would have turned over, but like grandMattie, I have a jab (flu) this morning, and thought better of it. So I am watching women's rugby world cup with a mug of tea and toast.

Should have time to prepare a hotpot for the slow cooker before I get the bus to the surgery; I may go into the village cafe after my jab for a coffee. Then after lunch I am out to Saints rugby; we are playing Newcastle. So sad to hear of the demise of two great clubs this week, Worcester and Wasps.

Wishing all a pleasant Saturday.

Good Morning from a damp and cloudy Severnside everyone.

I’m attending my course this morning and will potter later outside or make some cards, depends on the weather.

Have a good day all ??

Grammaretto Sat 15-Oct-22 07:02:34

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I have heat! My new boiler is up and running so the house is warm and the water is hot.
Once the novelty wears off, I'll need to ration it but for now I am celebrating.
Sisters are special aren't they Harrigtan mine has offered to drive me to the hospital if and when I get an appointment for my cataract operation.
There's to be tree planting and apple pressing at the community garden today so I may toddle along to help watch

Have as best a day as you can everyone and hopefully there'll be no I'll effects from your boosters.

Greyduster Sat 15-Oct-22 07:13:25

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. It’s dark and damp at the moment in South Yorkshire but the forecast is for sunshine later. I slept badly, woken periodically by the house making strange noises. DD and her menfolk are doing a moorland walk this morning and I was invited to join them but the tracks are very rough and my hip would not stay the course now, so I will drive out to meet them for lunch at a nice country pub, and then potter with my camera for an hour or so after they set off to walk back. Sad really, it’s a walk we always enjoyed. The views are wonderful.
I’m gradually getting used to the hive controller for my new boiler but have come to the conclusion that it’s simply not cold enough at the moment to have the heating on, so I shall turn it off and save myself some money!
Have the best day you can folks.

brook2704 Sat 15-Oct-22 07:14:34

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark but looks dry
Good idea to get a new TV Ashcombe hope it’s all set up easily
Oooh you have heat Grammaretto -enjoy!
I’m taking DGD into town this morning for a bit of shopping whilst DH takes DGS to the crazy golf. It’s his favourite Saturday activity and loves going there. I expect most of my morning will be spent either in the Smiggle shop or Claire’s accessories!
Hoping everyone getting covid and flu boosters are ok without any bad reactions
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I have already heard the dulcet tones of my granddaughter. She’s an early riser! Her parents are going off this morning for a trundle around the Cotswolds. OH and I will keep granddaughter entertained. She has requested sausages and mash - but no gravy - at the local pub, so we will take her there for lunch. Just to say, I had the Pfizer booster, together with a flu jab, and apart from slightly aching arms, have been fine. Have a wonderful day all of you.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 15-Oct-22 07:30:35

Good morning all from Harrogate- haven’t looked to see what the weather is, been awake since silly o’ clock. Yesterdays art show didn’t start until 6 pm!! So the morning was a bit of a disappointment. We went to Curry’s instead since my washing machine was pronounced terminal - so many machines, so many prices!
I did PM Pantglas last week, but so far, nothing. Will let you know if I hear anything.
After my COVID booster on Tuesday, I was headachy on Wednesday, but nothing too bad, but my arm is still a little sore, again nothing too bad.
Good luck with your booster GrandMattie.
DGD is coming this morning for a short while - haven’t seen him in the flesh for a couple of months. Will probably try again to go to the art fair - not doing very well with Galleries this week!
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning from a very wet & gloomy Sefton.

Yesterday's family lunch was cancelled due to the birthday girl being sick (in mum & dad's bed) overnight. She was a lot brighter by lunchtime so we just had a 'picnic' lunch in their house. We still managed to have some fun & games & she'll have her party proper today.... 6 little girls off to have a very pink pamper day. They'll love it.

No plans for today. Rain forecast all day so will hunker down & channel my inner squirrel.

Take care all.

NannyJan53 Sat 15-Oct-22 07:36:17

Good morning from a grey and damp Black Country.

We have our flu jab at 8.10 this morning! So have to leave soon. Covid jab was 3 weeks ago, and for the first time with both had a reaction. Feeling achey and with headache.

Then this morning a walk with a group of friends, with a coffee stop at the end.

Then whizz over to Mums for the afternoon, then this evening I am staying over DD's with the girls while DD and SIL go out for a meal to celebrate his 49th birthday which was on Thursday. I cannot say babysit any longer as girls are 11 and 14. I am taking them to the local village pub for a meal.

Will have to read all your posts later.

Wishing you all a lovely day

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 15-Oct-22 07:37:53

Good morning from a damp, but now a clear skies Oxfordshire, looks as though it will be sunny today.
MissOops continues to make progress, she is walking several times a day with a walker (last year she was on crutches, this year the walker seems easier) meds are all sorted, unlike last year when no one at her surgery could make a decision and she was on Ibuprofen and that was it, until MrOops gave them a stern talking to. Its been a tense time, no glue was used on this knee so no dashes to A&E,( I should add - so far!!)

So, I hope everyone has a good day today, and that the sun shines and we all think it’s Summer again (I wish)

Gingster Sat 15-Oct-22 07:38:22

Good morning all and it’s Misty here in Essex.

I’m another having Covid and flu jabs this afternoon. Is it foolhardy to have both together! ?. Oh well - in for a penny…
I’ll take a couple of paracetamol before I go and another couple before bed. ?

DS2 is here for the weekend catching up with old pals. He and ds1 will both go out for the evening and probably revert back to being teenagers again . A group of 48/50 yr olds out in the razzle! ?‍♀️.

Little DGD is off on a pumpkin ? adventure at Marsh Farm.
So much fun! She will pick her own and bring it home.

I hope Saturday is a good day for you all.
?

Good morning from a wet Leicestershire.

Have to be up early to go for our flu jabs after a terrible night!

Wishing everyone a good day.

Pittcity Sat 15-Oct-22 07:52:49

Good morning from a damp and chilly Colchester. I was woken by the heating bumping on. We have the smart thermostat set at 19° when we're in and up and this is only the 2nd time it's come on.
I tried to book a Covid booster yesterday and noticed that there was a bus for walk ins at Tesco. It's a 20 minute walk but I need the exercise. I got my jab after queuing for 15 mins, did a bit of shopping and walked home. Just a sore upper arm as usual. I took a couple of precautionary paracetamol at bedtime and slept like a log. Flu jabs are next week as we couldn't get both together.
I've a quiet weekend as DH is away and DS is spending his weekend with his GF who is at Uni.
The heating has bumped off now and the house feels warmer.
Love to all ? x

ShazzaKanazza Sat 15-Oct-22 08:02:58

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.
I too was thinking about Pantglas and her fun emojis. Hope she is ok.

Hope everyone feels ok after covid boosters. My DH has always reacted badly to his. ? for his next one.

Today is fairly empty to do as we want. We are cooking for our friends this evening so need to check we have everything in. We have all been on holiday so it will be nice to catch up.
Our little family are enjoying their Moroccan holiday and have sent some lovely pics. GD1 is having a ball.

Hope everyone has a lovely day but virtual hugs for those weighed down by stress and illness. ??

ginny Sat 15-Oct-22 08:05:40

Good morning from N. Bucks where the weather looks promising.
Usual local food shop today and coffee in town.
Will probably spend the afternoon getting on with preparation for craft club.
Hope Saturday is a good day for all.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 15-Oct-22 08:07:26

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It’s a very wet one.

Thank you to all who kindly commented on the situation with my DH. He has been advised to see a legal who specialises in employment law but it’s all looking good in our favour.

DH is still asleep so not sure of our plans today. Come what may I will be watching Strictly tonight.

Hoping all goes well for the ones getting Covid jabs today. I have been putting mine off with having things on the calendar just in case of getting a reaction.

Grandmabatty Sat 15-Oct-22 08:08:34

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7°, dark and pouring rain. I have the heating on too. Grammaretto yeah! A warm house for you.
Yesterday I visited a dear friend who had lost his partner last year. He put his wood stove on and it was lovely to see a real fire. Nice and toasty too. We blethered for hours. It was good to hear his plans as he begins to emerge from grief.
Today I'll brave to the rain shortly and head to Aldi for food. Then the usual housework. No visit from or to the family today as dgs1 has been throwing up for an hour according to dd. It's been working on him for a few days. Hopefully the bouts of vomiting will clear his system. Fingers crossed that the rest of the family don't succumb. I plan to make chilli in the slow cooker so that'll do for dinner. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 15-Oct-22 08:08:41

Morning Mick and all

It’s misty and very still looking out of my bedroom window.
Absolutely nothing planned this weekend other than a pootle down the road to the butchers for something for Sunday lunch.

It’s unusual for us to have a clear diary over a weekend, but I intend to make the most of it, ironing all done, pickling all done, beds all changed. I shall be taking advice from our resident #lazygran ( Urmstongran ) and relax with my kindle.

Wishing our poorly friends better, (((hugs))) to all in need especially our dear Baggs

Have a super Saturday folks ?‍♀️?
