GD and I have just made some Airfryer cupcakes. Couldn’t find an English airfryer recipe so just used the one we normally use for the oven. Silicone cupcases. Didn’t rise enough / maybe made too many from the mix. Quick and easy though!

Recipe please! Maybe they need some extra fluid or raising agent to compensate for the fast, dry baking environment? I feel some experimentation coming on!

As I say, we just used the recipe we use for the oven, not one specially for the Air-fryer - we added sultanas too.. Yes, I think I need to experiment! Quite pleased though!

You could try steam / bake next time just add some water under the trivet to create some steam.

I have a Tower Airfryer - not sure if you can steam in it. I shall go and Google (Beats listening to the news!!).

Collected GS from school and he wanted to have a go - so we made some scones too! Worked well.

Oh!!
How long did you cook them for and what temperature please??
Trying REALLY hard not to use my oven but REALLY missing my wee cakes and scones!!grin

200 for 12 mins for the scones.

About 16 mins for the little cakes / 180.

I put the first few scones on greased greaseproof paper, but the bottoms didn’t cook well, so I put the second lot direct onto the lightly greased basket base.

I made cheese scones in the air fryer with a recipe given by a Gransnetter. They were great.

All these cakes and scones sound lovely. I’ll be giving them a try. I’ll share my effort for today. I had saved a small portion of crumb topping from a large family apple crumble I made in the oven yesterday to take to my daughter’s house.

I sliced a bramley apple into a small individual pie dish. Added a little sugar and a teaspoon of water and topped with the crumb topping.

Baked in the airfryer for 20 mins at 180c . I covered with foil for the first 10 mins just in case the crumbs might blow off before they started to cook together.

It was delicious. I had enough apple and topping for 2 and if my will power holds out I’ll eat the other one tomorrow. A minute or so less would be long enough if you don’t want the topping too crunchy. But the scorched parts are my favourite!

My airfryer is quite basic. It’s a Tower 4.2litre.

Ooh, I love crumbles! Yes, I have the same, basic, Tower Airfryer. It seems fine for us. I did ‘steamed’ veg in the microwave tonight, with sweet potato wedges and veggie sausages in the Airfryer.
