Far too late for a Good Morning post so here’s a Good Afternoon one instead!
It’s bucketed with rain all morning and so chilly I have put the heating on for a bit.
Feeling decidedly unenthusiastic at the moment, DGCs and DS and DDIL are arriving later so I need to buck up! I will make a leek, cheese and walnut flan in a bit and probably prep some apples for baking I think.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, weather permitting x

GrannyGravy13 Fri 21-Oct-22 11:31:28

Just popped back to catch up and saw that my Good morning post hadn’t posted ?

Wishing you all a Friday that you want/need ??‍♀️

Good morning from a wet and sunny Oxfordshire, thunder is apparently on its way, we shall see.
MissOops had a bad night, new tablets from GP as hospital pills have run out. Bed totally soaked through with sweat, so total bed change including mattress topper, can’t dry it because it’s raining! Anyway we got back to bed eventually and slept in late.
MrOops took the dog out this morning and said how slippy it was so take care Mick.
Shazza oh! the old ‘I forgot my credit card trick’! Well done, pleased you had a good Anniversary.
So, take care everyone who is feeling unwell, has hospital appointments or who is caring for others, especially lively GCs.
And to the rest of us -have a good day.??

Good morning from West Sussex. We are off for a weekend in a hotel near Poole with DD and family. I hope we will be able to take the DGCs off to give their parents a much needed break. Maybe I will have some time to read my book club book for next week (Bill Bryson, The Thunderbolt Kid).
I would love to join Stilllearning and * Grammaretto* for a coffee in Oban but it’s a long journey from here!
We have a train to catch so will just wish you all a good weekend, if possible.

Taichinan Fri 21-Oct-22 10:07:02

Just found your post Grammaretto. You're another one who keeps on surprising me - I didn't realise you were a potter! What a take ted lady!

dustyangel Fri 21-Oct-22 10:01:54

Good morning everyone from a very wet Algarve. We’ve had a couple of early autumnal showers and then on Wednesday night it poured.and has been raining on and off ever since. I know we desperately need it here but it’s a bit of a shock to the system after months of drought conditions.

grandMattie I meant to say that I’ve never seen such a cozy baby Jesus as the one in your nativity group. It’s really lovely.
I hope your dear lodger’s future is soon sorted out so that you can regain a more regular way of life.

I hope the many with health problems feel a bit better today. flowers

I’ll catch up with you all later, I need to sort out some warmer clothes for myself first. For some weird reason DH is determined to stay in shorts until November 1st. ?‍♀️

Morning all from a dreich Angus coast. Looking at the weather forecast, any washing will have to wait until Sunday - and even that is looking a bit iffy. 'Siling down' is a new one on me & sounds heavy! Today we're just expecting a 'smurr', or light drizzle, here.
Two magpies seem to have taken up residence in or near my garden - in all the years (25) I've lived here I've only seen one, once, before. There's certainly been more than enough sorrow so I'm hoping these two will bring joy!
Glad to hear your stint in the exercise bike went well, Mick.
Grandmabatty, sorry you're feeling a bit down. You always sound such a cheerful and positive lady, so I'm sure you'll be on the up again soon. Bring back the sun I say ??.
Lovely photos stilllearning - I love the west coast.
Yesterday after tai chi, always fun, followed by the weekly Tesco shop with all the necessary 'putting away' after, I was fit for nothing as I'd only managed three hours' sleep the night before. I sat and dozed all afternoon and then had a good night's sleep to follow. So much for the doom merchants who advise us not to sleep during the day!
Well, after a couple of weeks or so of a 'mad social whirl' my diary is disconcertingly empty. I shall enjoy the peace for the first couple of days .........
Enjoy your day everyone and I hope sunshine appears for you in some form today x

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Interesting morning at art as we all discussed the political situation something we don't normally go anywhere near! I think we have sorted the country out grin.
Off shopping at local big shopping centre as we have a voucher to spend.
Good wishes to all.

Grammaretto Fri 21-Oct-22 09:43:40

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dreich start but the sun ? is peeping out.
I am warming up my studio for a family of 4 who have booked a 2 hour pottery session with me later this morning.

I wish I was having coffee in Oban with you Stilllearning smile
I'm glad the prescription was a bit more exerciseMick I'm sure several of us could do with that
I'm not sure if Matt's cartoon is funny or tragic Urms We are the laughing stock of Europe.
GE needed now.
Have a very good day everyone.

Marydoll turns out it wasn't just the condenser but also the pump and maybe something else. Diagnosed over the phone with an estimated huge repair cost. Therefore new machine is being delivered tomorrow!!

Anniebach Fri 21-Oct-22 09:39:25

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning Mick, morning all. It’s another soggy start to the day here in South Lanarkshire.

We took the children to soft play yesterday, it’s quite a small one and I was able to stay in the toddler section with the little one whilst her sister went off exploring the main area. We then had a very wet walk along the beach with the daft dug before taking refuge in a cafe. The children really don’t mind battling the elements and they were well wrapped up.

Stilllearning, I’m sure DH and I have stayed in a hotel very close to that bridge, I’d forgotten about it as it was many years ago. Safe trip home.

Sorry to hear that you’re struggling just now Marydoll.

Is your DL going to be able to return to her own home Mattie?

I’m not doing anything in particular today, I may force myself to do a bit of ironing whilst I catch up with the Archers Omnibus from Sunday.

Have a good day everyone.

hollysteers Fri 21-Oct-22 09:26:34

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
Slightly better but still full of cold and it’s the coughing stage…
Hate missing my usual art and music, but there you go. I have moved into my DS bedroom for a change. It’s much larger than the one I use, but I quite like the cosiness of the smaller bedroom.
As I cannot bring myself to watch tv during the daytime, it’s reading and the radio. How tiresome lounging about is! Yet when really busy we long for it.
Hope you enjoy your further exercise Mick, am really glad not to be in your shoes grandMattie and thoughts to anyone with worries of any kind.

Blossoming Fri 21-Oct-22 09:22:38

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy in this corner of Lancashire this morning. Glad yesterday went well Mick.

No real plans for today, other than housework, Gaelic studies and physio exercises. Yesterday was too stormy for a walk so I used my exercise cycle instead. I’ll see what the weather is like later and either walk or cycling.

Wishing everyone a good day and hope for some good news for those with troubles.

Wyllow3 Fri 21-Oct-22 09:11:22

Morning all from a damp but not raining (yet?) S Yorks.

I'll catch up later, have to whoosh for my shingles jab. The other jabs have been OK, so SHOULD be OK.

EkwaNimitee Fri 21-Oct-22 09:03:01

Good morning Mick and everyone from a barely light Carlisle where we are likely due a showery day.
Yesterday was horrendous, nonstop heavy rain all day, bits of my garden, underlain by clay, are a bog. Still, thinking about the problem, I had some positive ideas re what to do about it!
Today, not much is on, I'm recovering from a mild infection so plan to catch up on reading. I'm also expecting various deliveries though one of them involves probably bare root plants so I will have to get out and heel them in.

Good Matt today Urmston, very apposite!

Have a good day all.

BlueSapphire Fri 21-Oct-22 09:02:14

Good morning everyone from a very grey and damp Northampton. Will go out for my usual Friday coffee and cake at M&S Food, then have a mooch around the shops. It gets me out of the house and cheers me up. Was thinking of going to either Milton Keynes or Rushden Lakes, but the forecast is not good; may go on Monday instead.

Didn't get to my dance classes yesterday, as I didn't fancy waiting at the bus stop in the heavy rain, so stayed in and finished my book club book instead, then caught up with some magazines from the unread pile, which never seems to get any smaller - as soon as I have read one, another arrives in the post! Spent the evening knitting,.trying to finish a cardigan for an elderly lady at our well-being cafe.

Must stir myself and go for my shower. Take care everyone and have a good day.

hulahoop Fri 21-Oct-22 08:54:36

It siled it down here all day yesterday it's just stopped this morning . Food shop this morning picking gc up from school teatime then out with daughter to see amateur show of calender girls.

Jaxjacky Fri 21-Oct-22 08:52:44

Morning from a grey S Hampshire, rain overnight and rain incoming.
Pleased your test went well Mick I too should walk more. Sorry Shazza missed it yesterday, I’m glad you enjoyed your anniversary.
I had my covid jab yesterday and have a sore arm, but nothing else. Friend coming for coffee this morning, Tesco delivering later and pub, walking, later.
Enjoy your day best you can with a ? or ??.

aggie Fri 21-Oct-22 08:51:07

Good morning everyone from a wet Co Armagh, yesterday was like a summers day sunny and hot , it is still warm here but the rain started as soon as I put on the washing machine!
Gorgeous Autumn colours this year

Grandmabatty Fri 21-Oct-22 08:43:25

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and grey. Lovely photos Stilllearning.
Yesterday was very quiet and dull and today promises to be the same. I'll do a spot of tidying up and some Spanish. I ordered the book you recommended Brook but I haven't looked at it yet. I'm a bit down in the dumps and lacking motivation. It'll pass soon, I'm sure. Whatever you are doing, have a good day.

Good morning from a dull but so far dry N. Bucks.
I was going to visit a friend who has been in hospital but she has just messaged to say she has covid so, that will have to wait for another day.
Household and inside jobs this morning. WI craft group this afternoon.
I must also pack a small bag for a day out tomorrow.
Glad your appointment went well Mick.
Hope Friday is a good day for all.

kittylester Fri 21-Oct-22 08:14:07

Morning all from a very grey North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner is coming this morning whole DH is at the gym and then DS1 is coming for lunch and to check on my progress. The children seem to have a sort of informal rota for 'popping' in and keeping an eye on us. Disconcerting!

Have the best day possible everyone one.

Marydoll Fri 21-Oct-22 08:13:02

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow at 14°C.

Good to hear your appointment went well. My SIL gave me a fit it it to encourage me to try walk more, to help my cardiac conditions. I don't always manage it, but I do try.
There are much cheaper versions available on Amazon and they encourage you to count your daily steps. Gentle exercise is very good for the heart Mick, if you can manage it.
Sounds like you need to build up your stamina, before your op, it's worth a try.

I am planning a restful today. I felt really unwell yesterday in Sainsbury's, so much so that an assistant approached me to ask if I was OK. My heart seems to be playing silly b**gers just now and not behaving.

Just as I was lying down, I got a call from Lloyd's Homecare, wanting to deliver the biologics, which I can no longer tolerate. Apparently the hospital forgot to inform them, I was no longer on them.
An hour later, I was still on the phone.
Yet again, the adverse reactions have to be reported to the Drugs Standard Agency and the lady asked me to list all my medications, in case of contra indications. I think she was sorry she asked! ?
Having spelled out twenty medications and detailing all my side effects, I was wiped out. I just wanted my bed!
She advised me to dispose of the pre-filled injections I still have, what a terrible waste. £1000's worth of medication. ?
I didn't get peace anyway, because DH kept coming to update me on the Liz Truss shenanigans! ?
What a shambles!

Hoping the poorly DDs are feeling better and Corner, praying you have a better day, today.
Life is so difficult for many on here at the moment.
Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.

PS. Pitt, hopefully you had success, in dealing with the condenser. ?
