Good morning everyone from a lovely sunny Co Armagh
Actually the sun has just managed to find a chink in the clouds , but it’s lovely to see
I hate the thought of the clocks changing soon , darker evenings don’t thrill
I used to like winter , bowls club , evening classes cinema visits
But that’s not happening at the moment
Lovely twins ! Congratulations Abitbarmy
Hope a bed day helps Marydoll

Good morning from a bit of a dreich day in Glasgow, drizzly and damp.

Chrissie, I had a lump in my throat reading of your plans for today. Have the best day with family and your darling girl. Wishing her happy birthday and many happy returns of the day. ?
Many congratulations Abitbarmy, two new little bundles to cuddle, lovely news.
Rest up and look after yourself Marydoll
Hyper Mobile feet; a nurses curse. As a student nurse, we had to douse our feet with meths to toughen them up in preparation for walking miles each day on the wards.

I finished watching The Watcher last night, a tense thriller which had me glued to my chair.
Looking forward to a day of foutering about doing bits and pieces from my winter to do list of projects.

Have the best day possible everyone and hopefully a light at the end of the tunnel for those struggling on with worries.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s a beautiful sunny morning in this corner of Lancashire.

I’m sat up in bed enjoying a large mug of tea, Mr. B and I were very late to bed last night. It takes me a long time to get moving these days grin. A very quiet day in store here, hoping to have a walk later.

Congratulations on a double happy event Abitbarmy.

Enjoy your party Chrissieslou, a double celebration for you too.

Dear Marydoll I prescribe bed rest and Turkish soap operas for you today, hope you feel less grim later. I hope you find time to rest too Greyduster in between the prep.

Ooh Grandmabatty stovies! Haven’t had those for ages, might need a trip to the farm shop for some decent potatoes later.

Wishing everyone a good day, may we all find a ? or ?? today.

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Small amount of shopping to be done and I still seem to have a pile of washing, no idea where it is all coming from, now DD2 has texted as her washing machine has packed up, no saving electricity here!
Congrats Abitbarmy.
Best wishes Marydoll hope a good rest does the trick.
Best day possible to all.

hulahoop Sat 22-Oct-22 10:05:37

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull.

Abitbarmy what lovely news this morning. Congratulations to you all. ?
Chrissielou enjoy your family get together. Thoroughly deserved?

Grandmadinosaur safe journey to your overnight hotel. How wonderful a family holiday together.

Today we have a fairly free day up to tea time. Our DGD is coming overnight. She has two parties today so she’ll either be absolutely shattered or high on sugar and bouncing off the walls. Obviously I’m hoping for the former as she’ll want to sleep with me.
DH will have a lovely night sleep downstairs.

Have a lovely Saturday if possible. Special thoughts to those who aren’t well today. ??

Wyllow3 Sat 22-Oct-22 09:41:55

Morning all from S Yorks.

Late arrival for me but delighted to read your happy news Abitbarmy.

May all go as well as they can with appointments, jabs, and deliveries delivered, and birthdays enjoyed.

It’s a lovely sunny morning after days of rain, so I hope a little walk or cycle to get some proper Fresh Air.

Nothing wrong with a “Day off” Marydoll -do it myself at times as I have CFS and sometimes overdo it , and everyone at times needs to have a wee hide from the world….and Greyduster. sounds like its needed for you after the wrench.

Auntieflo Sat 22-Oct-22 09:32:37

By the way, did anyone have trouble getting Gransnet this morning?

Auntieflo Sat 22-Oct-22 09:31:14

Good morning Mick, Annie and all.

I was the one up to make tea this morning. Wonders will never cease. The sky was beautiful, all streaked with red. But does that mean we are in for bad weather. Red sky in the morning, and all that?

Wonderful news Abitbarmy. My brother and his wife had a pigeon pair of twins. Now all very grown up. But how lovely.

Chrissielou, Happy Birthday to your DD and congratulations to her.

A day in bed is what you probably need Marydoll, although knowing you and your exploits, after a couple of hours, you will be itching to be up. Take care and listen to your body.

GrandMattie, your poor feet are being overused at the moment, being at the beck and call of your DL. Slow down.

Today DS2 and DDIL are visiting with the whirlwind that is DGS. Still, I hope to be able to get DS to look at an ancient tablet and 'sort it out' ?

Then I have to return some cushion covers that I ordered from John Lewis. I thought I had ordered 4 , but actually 8 arrived.

Better get myself washed and dressed, and ready for the onslaught.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton, what a difference from yesterday! Got soaked at the bus stop returning from my shopping trip, luckily my umbrella shielded me from the worst of it.

Have the towels in the washing machine, making the most of a dry day. Off to the cinema this afternoon to see the new film 'Emily', an imagining of Emily Bronte; it had a 5* review in my newspaper. Shall go into town early and have a mooch around the shops first.

A morning of the Saturday papers, trying to do the cryptic crossword....

Lots of lovely weekends planned I see, from reading your posts. Congratulations Abitbarmy, double the kisses and cuddles for you with twins!

Have a lovely Saturday everyone.

Taichinan Sat 22-Oct-22 09:10:44

Good morning all. It's a very misty murky morning on the Angus coast, but the sun does seem to be making an effort to break through and there's a suggestion of blue sky ?
Have a a wonderful family birthday celebration for your daughter Chrissie - I'm sure it will feel like the most wonderful one ever ??. And congratulations to you too, abitbarmy - how absolutely wonderful, two gorgeous little babies! Wonderful times ahead
Think I'd prefer the Suffolk book club too Gingster.
Nothing happening here today although the kitchen will get it's weekly deep clean, and if the sun does manage to break through I might take myself off for a walk along my favourite beach.
A quick wave to Alizarin, I used to enjoy reading her posts from Cornwall.
Have a good day all x

Grandmabatty Sat 22-Oct-22 09:01:55

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and misty. I had a long lie this morning. Firstly congratulations to Abitbarmy on her lovely new grandchildren. A welcome addition to your family. Chrissielou have a lovely family time. Grandmattie I'm not surprised that your feet are hyper mobile. You never stop! You are an inspiration to many of us. Marydoll a day in bed is what is needed I think. Taichinan thank you for your kind words yesterday. I'm coming out of the glumps gradually.
Yesterday I didn't do much but felt sorry for myself for no reason. I did pick up a cross stitch that I had started last year and did a little work on it. I went to bed feeling a bit better at the world.
Today I'll go food shopping and then housework and change the bedding. My usual Saturday tasks. I might get a visit from dd and the boys later. Stovies for dinner. Have a good day all.

grandMattie Sat 22-Oct-22 09:01:00

Wonderful news, barmy. Congratulations all round - especially to the mum who actually did all the work… ❤️

Sar53 Sat 22-Oct-22 08:51:53

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.

Congratulations Abitbarmy, what lovely news. My DH has twin grandchildren, a boy and a girl. They are 5 now and we are watching them this afternoon whilst their dad plays rugby.
I remember when they were born they cuddled up in the same cot in hospital.

We are going into town soon for a few bits and bobs and probably coffee.

Yesterday I booked for 8 of us to go to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park in December. DD1 then decided I had booked a slot that was too late. She is very stressed at the moment but I rang her and hopefully calmed her down. I worry about her and her very busy life.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone whatever you may get up to xxx

Grandmadinosaur Sat 22-Oct-22 08:51:25

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. A bit brighter morning today.

This morning I’m packing, beauty preps etc for our holiday. Hair appt at lunchtime then off to our overnight hotel. Busy, busy. All the family are going and one certain little person is a very excited boy!

Gala Sat 22-Oct-22 08:42:00

Good morning from a brightening Sefton.

A lazy morning then joining DS1 & DGD1 this afternoon for a children's activity trail in a local park. It's a fundraiser for a local, but large, charity. Apparently they are expecting 1000s.
Congratulations Abitbarmy. Twins! How wonderful.

Have the best day you can.

Greyduster Sat 22-Oct-22 08:35:47

abitbarmy twins! What lovely news! Congratulations to you all?!

Greyduster Sat 22-Oct-22 08:32:25

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. I had a very bad night of two hours on and two hours off sleeping and pain from my hip so I shall be fit for nothing today. I test drove a Mini yesterday the same model as one I am almost ready to say yes to buying. It was lovely and I felt very at home in it. It will be a wrench to let my current car go, but it’s much too big for me, so it’ll be from one extreme to the other. I shall bake today; DS and DiL are coming down tomorrow. I will be letting the side down if there is no cake!
Mary I hope you feel better soon. You do right to rest today.
Have the best day you can folks.

ginny Sat 22-Oct-22 08:29:03

Good morning from N. Bucks where it is dull but dry at the moment.
I’m off for a Spa day and an evening meal afterwards with all three of my DDs. What a treat, I don’t often get all of them together for myself.
Haven’t read all the posts yet but lovely news from*Abitbarmy*.
Thinking of all with illness or worries.
Hope you all find a little sunshine in your day

GrannyGravy13 Sat 22-Oct-22 08:25:25

Urmstongran I can remember that smell ??

Gingster the Suffolk Book Club sounds more fun to me ??

Well it’s not raining at the moment ? Have to pop down to the road to the butchers, and our lovely Turkish grocers (it’s an Alladin’s cave of spices, veggies and goodies) Yhen a lazy day #lazygran as next week is half-term here and we have GC every day so it’s busy, busy, busy especially with the teens.

Have your best day folks ?‍♀️?

dragonfly46 Sat 22-Oct-22 08:14:33

Good morning from a brightening Leicestershire, we had pink swathes in the sky this morning.

Trip into town this morning for a coffee, not much else planned.

Congratulations Barmy.
I love that you have hyper mobile feet Mattie, I have lazy feet.
Hope you feel better soon Marydoll.
Our book group meets every 4 weeks Gingster, one time in the pub just for a social and one time in someone’s house where we discuss the book. Wine is imbibed on both occasions.

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 22-Oct-22 08:07:58

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Yes, Mick a lot of our buses are less frequent now because a lot of workers are still working from home, that and a shortage of drivers.
Are you sure its your feet that are hyper GrandMattie?
Today I go for my flu jab. No sign of Hearing aid being ready. Had DGD yesterday morning, we snuggled on the settee, in the afternoon we had an invitation to PizzaExpress with DD2 and DGS. Very enjoyable
Have the best day possible folks

brook2704 Sat 22-Oct-22 08:06:05

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s misty, damp and grey
A big congratulations abitbarmy what lovely news, such exciting times ahead!
Hoping you have a lovely day Chrissilou definitely a day for celebration. Well done with making the cake too
Today DH are off into town, we’ve got visitors staying next week so need to go to M&S food to get a few treats and different things to try. I think we’ll be back by lunchtime though as I tried a new class at the gym yesterday and today I’ve got a few aching muscles in places that I didn’t even know existed!
marydoll hoping you feel a bit better soon
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Gingster Sat 22-Oct-22 07:58:11

Good morning all.

Have a wonderful day celebrating Chrissielou. You and your lovely daughter deserve the best day.

Twins! Abitbarmy. You’ll have a busy, fun packed time with that little twosome. Congrats to all. ????. Our boys are 16 now ??‍???‍?.

Nothing pressing for us today. Dh and ds1 will go to a footie match and I might get my crocheting out. Haven’t done any since last winter.

Book club was ok yesterday. I belong to two and they’re so different.
Suffolk BC - we meet in a cosy pub and enjoy a tipple, have a laugh with very like minded people.
Essex BC - we meet in someone’s house. A glass of water provided, very intense and serious with professional academics. (Why am I there). ,? all like the sound of their own voices and speaking over each other? ?. Oh well! It’s a challenge and interesting (at times). My friend and I come out saying ‘don’t think we’ll come again.’ ??. The rich tapestry of life!

Hoping you all have a good Saturday. Enjoy what you can. ???

Beechnut Sat 22-Oct-22 07:53:04
