Good morning from, a dark, dry Torbay. Unlike yesterday!!

Yesterday, I had three social engagements so dressed in something to carry me through them all but the weather had other ideas. As we left Pierre's Bistro after a superb lunch, the wind nearly blew me over! I decided to walk to a bus-stop away from the seafront because I was rapidly becoming drenched by the squally shower. Luckily, the bus soon arrived but I was wet through on arrival home so curling up in my cosy onesie was welcome! Later, I enjoyed reuniting with some of the cast from ‘Allo, ‘Allo for a quiz at The Little Theatre.

A quieter day is most welcome! Enjoy whatever you’ve planned this weekend which is the start of half-term in many counties. ?????

Good morning from a still dark, virtually always dry, but very often cloudy, E Kent.
Quiet day yesterday party from my hospital appointments from podiatry. I was told that most of m6 problems were from hyper mobile feet! I was given a couple of exercises and told that insoles had been ordered..
I hope you don’t suffer too many ill effects from your drenching yesterday, Ash
I’m off for my booster flu jab at the crack of dawn.
Nothing much else today.
I hope that today turns out well for all of you. Carpe diem. ???❤️

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Málaga where it’s still pitch black. I opened the front door to the mountains while the kettle was boiling. Lovely to smell the pine trees.

C’mon grandMattie we ALL know it’s not just your feet that are hyper-mobile! ? You are always ‘on the go’ woman.

No plans have been formulated here for today yet. Himself is still snoozing. We shall follow our noses later. It’s my turn today to ring my stepfather. He’s been enjoying the snooker every afternoon on tv and was off to the club last night with his friend. Half term week starts today for our Boy Wonder and L’il Miss!

Enjoy Saturday all who can. x

Morning Mick, morning All. From what I can see our corner of Somerset is dry.

Some catching up yesterday and a lot of messages/phone calls from younger folk worried about their parents. Made me wonder how much our family worry about us, we try not to trigger concern but perhaps we do.

A top up shop this morning then curtains to steam this afternoon. Odd bod that I am I’ll enjoy all of it.

Hope you stay dry today ash, wind and rain are never a good combination. Hope the flu jab is without incident grandmattie. We’ve many changes to local buses mick, sadly none for the better

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

After a dreadful day weather-wise yesterday and getting wet on the dog walk, I am hoping for some sunshine today. I finished DD1's celebration cake and am very pleased with it, I've iced and decorated it with edible flowers. We are going to a lovely riverside pub for dinner to celebrate her birthday and the fact that she's in remission. A big family and friends gathering.
I do hope all those with sadness and worry find some sunshine today. It seems to have been a very hard year for so many of us.

BlueBalou Sat 22-Oct-22 07:15:55

Good morning everyone, I have no idea what it’s doing weather-wise , yesterday was nearly nonstop downpours!
DS, DDIL and DGCs are here, so lovely to see them again.
They’re off swimming, DDIL wild swims but I don’t think it’s the river today ?
The boys (6 &9) are very good swimmers too, I love watching them.
I hope the weekend goes well for you all x

Nannagarra Sat 22-Oct-22 07:21:33

The day is dawning on this dry part of the Sefton coast as I bid you all good morning.
Yesterday I had the great pleasure of meeting one of our number, Alizarin, in The Royal Hotel, Waterloo. Tea and chat developed into lunch and more tea. Who knew we share niche interests?
Today DH and I plan to feed and polish the conservatory furniture. A new floor is to be fitted next week.
Whatever your plans, enjoy your Saturday.

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is getting light. I can see the clouds moving along swiftly.

I’m off to a craft event with Beechnutella today and dinner this evening.

I hope you all have the loveliest of times today Chrissielou.

Have a good day all ???

Grammaretto Sat 22-Oct-22 07:25:21

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still dark but feels mild. Birds are singing.
Another Saturday café so I am about to bake a cake. Later friends are having apple pressing in their garden.
The pottery session yesterday went well and some funny wonky pots were made on the wheel. We lamented the dearth of craft teaching in school.
Hope for happy days ahead for everyone here.

Beechnut Sat 22-Oct-22 07:26:27

I was thinking of Alizarin last night while watching the Susan Calman programme travelling around Cornwall.

Abitbarmy Sat 22-Oct-22 07:29:54

Good morning everyone from a very happy granny. Last night my grand-twins were born, 3 weeks earlier than planned. Grandaughter spent the night with us, I didn’t sleep very well after getting the news, was too excited. Haven’t told her yet she has a new sister and brother, both doing well. Will wait to see if Daddy wants to break the news. What a day this will be for her as it’s her birthday party day, birthday was on Wednesday. It’s going to be a busy day, I hope all of you have a good one also. smile

Nannagarra Sat 22-Oct-22 07:35:03

Hyper mobile feet? You are one very busy bee grandMattie!
In the hope of helping others I’ll relay two pieces of advice I was given on Wednesday when I had my covid booster: take in lots of fluids to flush round a vaccine and rotate your arm.

Congratulations Abitbarmy!

Morning all from a dark West Oxfordshire. I got up at 7 am, had breakfast and went back to bed. I am having a scan at 1.30 pm, so am not allowed to eat for six hours beforehand - hence the early breakfast. Have a good day everyone.

Pittcity Sat 22-Oct-22 07:38:14

Good morning from a brightening Colchester where we are promised a dry day.
My new washing machine will be delivered after 11am and DH will be home from fishing at about the same time. It will be busy all afternoon.
How fabulous to welcome 2 new babies to your familyBarmy
Love to all ? x

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 22-Oct-22 07:39:21

Good morning from a beautiful Oxfordshire, it’s the sunrise that’s making it look so lovely. Especially after yesterday.
Mick our bus stop is 3 miles away, then you have to find someone’s front garden to park in!
Busy day today, MrOops is off for his flu jab and I have beds to sort for MzOops and Master Oops who are arriving tomorrow, food to prepare ready to cook tomorrow morning and cakes to bake and ice, it’s sad that little MissOops can’t join us, but no half term at University.
I picked the last of the cooking apples yesterday in the rain, with a rake to help pull the branches down, plenty of hard apples fell on my head! But all are cooked ready for the crumble.
Chrissielou a special birthday for you all, enjoy.
Have a good day everyone, let’s hope we can all stay dry today

Marydoll Sat 22-Oct-22 07:40:19

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where its 14°C.

No plans for today, feeling pretty rubbish after a bad night. I may even stay in bed, a rare occurrence!

Thinking of those who are struggling, whatever the reason

For those of you with plans today, have a great day!

Special congratulations to Abitbarmy.

Nannagarra Sat 22-Oct-22 07:40:29

baubles Sat 22-Oct-22 07:42:05

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s a misty, moisty, morning here, either that or my windows are dirtier than I thought.

Have a lovely day celebrating with your family Chrissielou.

We’re having lunch in town with one of my cousins who is visiting from Canada. It’s always good to see him, we are the same age and went to school together until his family emigrated when we were about fourteen. As he often travels to Europe for his business he always includes a few days in Glasgow to catch up with family.

Wishing everyone the best day possible, thinking of those with worries or illness to contend with.

Urmstongran Sat 22-Oct-22 07:43:11

Another here who was only thinking of Alizarin (was MellowYellow) the other day! So your meet up was a bit witchy Nannagarra. Mind you Hallowe’en is coming up fast!
? ?‍♀️?

Just hope Pantglas is sipping at her chamberpot right now. And a ? to our Crumpet Queen if she’s reading.

Huge congratulations Abitbarmey what fabulous news! ? ? no wonder you couldn’t sleep! The adrenaline will keep you going today and by tonight you’ll be happily exhausted!

baubles Sat 22-Oct-22 07:43:40

Congratulations Abitbarmy, how lovely.

monk08 Sat 22-Oct-22 07:52:15

Good morning all from the Black country.
Dgs received a certificate during assembly for being kind and thoughtful throughout the week, one proud grandma.
No plans today will carry on reading my book.
Enjoy your celebrations Chrissielou and congratulations Abitbarmy on the arrival of grand-twins.
Well usual Saturday full English calling so will catch up with everybody's news later.
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ?.

Beechnut Sat 22-Oct-22 07:53:04

Congratulations Abitbarmy

Gingster Sat 22-Oct-22 07:58:11

Good morning all.

Have a wonderful day celebrating Chrissielou. You and your lovely daughter deserve the best day.

Twins! Abitbarmy. You’ll have a busy, fun packed time with that little twosome. Congrats to all. ????. Our boys are 16 now ??‍???‍?.

Nothing pressing for us today. Dh and ds1 will go to a footie match and I might get my crocheting out. Haven’t done any since last winter.

Book club was ok yesterday. I belong to two and they’re so different.
Suffolk BC - we meet in a cosy pub and enjoy a tipple, have a laugh with very like minded people.
Essex BC - we meet in someone’s house. A glass of water provided, very intense and serious with professional academics. (Why am I there). ,? all like the sound of their own voices and speaking over each other? ?. Oh well! It’s a challenge and interesting (at times). My friend and I come out saying ‘don’t think we’ll come again.’ ??. The rich tapestry of life!

Hoping you all have a good Saturday. Enjoy what you can. ???
