(Good buy in time, the smart TV, so much to choose from). Kalu - yes, nightmare was the word, but I have got out. I have been to the dreaded dentist and am now on penicillin and will have to lose another tooth.

Otherwise the day looks OK. Yoga followed by my usual volunteering at the community shop.

I have also been doing my friend's family tree and it is like a detective story. Those who are into genealogy will know what I mean!

Good morning to you all (my first time here). It is cloudy then sunny then cloudy here in Dorset today. I am going stir crazy as tested positive for covid last Tuesday. Was hoping to get back to my U3A table tennis this afternoon as feeling much better, but just did a test and still positive (very faint line so nearly gone). Some elderly/vulnerable folk there so will have to wait.... VERY bored!!!

Did a ‘big’ shop yesterday for the first time in a while at Aldi and found it very disappointing. Many things not available, hot chocolate, Ovaltine, paracetamol etc. Not exactly delicatessen items. Hate big supermarkets so will leave it another while before my next venture there.

My DS has the part to fix my broken electric windows but I need the car this week and we are struggling to find a day that matches for him to come over from the city. In the meantime I carry on with a taped up window..,
A close friend had an upset re his cataract surgery yesterday. He was anxious as already has damage to a retina. The brusque surgeon turned him away at the operating theatre as he had too many questions and he wasn’t happy to go ahead with it. He’s going private now so he can find out exactly what’s what.
I’m off to sing this afternoon for the first time after heavy cold.
It could be a string of frogs, we’ll see.

Heavy rain again yesterday, it looks like today will be dryer so hope to get out for some fresh air. The trees are looking so beautiful and I would like to take some photos before they lose their leaves.

Good that you’re feeling better Mick, and glad your DL’s housing issue is proceeding smoothly Grandmattie. How kind of your friend to help with selling your machines. I hope you can keep busy in your isolation Ashcombe, as you say we’ve done it before!

Thank you GNs everywhere for your good wishes for DD2 and her son. Following a brief telephone conversation with the Doctor, her DH took the baby straight around to the surgery, and he has been prescribed antibiotics although the hospital diagnosed a viral throat infection. I’d love to name and shame that surgery here, but it might lead to repercussions - however, I have no problem naming and shaming it in conversations with friends! She had a follow up appointment at another hospital to have her foot wound inspected – I’d post a picture but it’s too gruesome for a site like this! The nurse commented that she looked tired and poorly, which is true – I think it’s going to take a long time for her to recover and I am concerned how long the wound will take to heal, because of the extremely limited circulation she has in her lower limbs. Another appointment to have it seen again on Thursday. Such a sad little family.
gM don’t forget to add in time for conveyancing - approx 8-12 weeks.

Feel as if it should be lunch time as DD and DSiL left just after 8.00am after a very busy and happy visit. Their bedding will be ready to hang out in a few minutes and then I can restock. I am out of practice at catering for more than one and forget how much normal adults eat and drink.

Lovely to new people to join this helpful thread. Other people’s lives are so much more interesting than one’s own!

Good morning Mick and all. It's a golden morning on the Angus coast - very welcome after all the recent mist and fog. Yesterday when I saw the mist disperse and the sun emerge I rushed to put a wash on - only to see the clouds building again. It's still hanging limply indoors, so the first job this morning will be to hang it outside. Oh be still my beating heart, such excitement isn't good!

Good morning Mick and everyone from a mostly cloudy Carlisle, and welcome to you both GrandmaChrisy and Elizabeth7.
I was out in the garden yesterday afternoon, planting a pyracantha followed by an exploration dig of the back corner of the garden underlain by impermeable clay. The hole I'd dug previously was full of water so I dug a channel towards better drained parts to see if it would get away. I do love my civil engineering projects but I could do without this especially as I now have to be careful not to exert myself overly. I've yet to get out and see the results. My options are eventually a raised bed, a pond or a bog garden, I much prefer the first as it's a far corner. Nothing will survive planted straight into the ground.
This morning is some housework and laundry then I will see what I fancy getting up to.

I hope you don't get cabin fever Ashcombe but I think you can get out walking?

Good morning from a bright, dry Colchester. Warming up to 17° again today. I have layers on ready to remove and replace.
Volunteering in charity shop as it's Tuesday. We've had another change of management ( nearly as frequent as the government!) and so I expect things will have changed since last week. It gets me out of the house!!

Had a good day in Milton Keynes yesterday, under cover all day so avoiding any rain. Returned my too big cardigan to the shop, but sadly they did not have the size I wanted, so bought a dress in the sale instead! I do love that particular store and never come out empty-handed..... Then to M&S where I spent my voucher on a new jumper and some body butter. Also managed to spend a Waterstones voucher on new books for book club.

A morning of pottering, hanging out the washing, then a health walk after lunch.

My day at work went really well yesterday, I felt I’d actually been of some use rather than just being a visitor. Some of our regular customers have been very kind and seem pleased to see me back.

Today though I’ll have a quieter day. I’m taking a break from poppies and angels and have made a start on some pumpkins which will decorate my kitchen windowsill.

Sending good thoughts to everyone who has difficulties in their lives, whether that be illness or worries.

Yesterday I dropped dgs1 off at his nursery. He's such a sociable wee boy, shouting hello to lots of others while waiting to go in. I gardened for a while yesterday and began winter tidying. My hands became painful though so I stopped after half an hour. Arthritis has developed in my right hand which is very annoying but one of the (many) benefits of getting older I suppose.
Today I have an art workshop all afternoon on still life which I'm very much looking forward to. Have a good day all.
