I rescued an apple corer, amongst other things, when we were clearing my late fathers house. I could remember my Mum using it and even though it was battered and the bone handle had seen better days I wanted it; I also used it too. Now I have a glut of apples from my lovely neighbour, guess what........I can't find the apple corer and I am devastated. It held so many memories for me.

Another thread has prompted me to think of the above.

It concerned an item of kitchen plastic beginning with T, and I commented I didn’t know what had happened to mine.

It has made me wish so much I still had it! Yes, I know I could purchase a vintage one on EBay, but it wouldn’t be my (or my late mum’s, to be correct) original one, plus quite dear!

Another missing thing. For his 21st birthday, my DH, then my boyfriend, was given a road atlas by his sister. A hardback book, we used it a lot when travelling and on holidays.

A while ago, we looked for it in the loft and it couldn’t be found. I have to assume it became so worn and tatty we threw it away, plus this was a 50 year old atlas so very out of date and no practical use. But oh, I longed to look at it again. The cover featured a young family, two little children, mum in a mini skirt, and driving a mini car.

Just like we were, back in the day.

And yes, it could be bought on a vintage book site, but it wouldn’t be mine!
