Good morning Mick and all from a bright northwest coast.
Nice trip into Shropshire yesterday, lovely to see the amazing colours of the trees.
After that, our coach driver, new to the route, missed the entrance and closing times of Chirk Castle, so took us on a mystery tour and we had less time than anticipated in the castle itself, but it was enough (for me anyway) as my back gives in after walking around for a few hours and it’s not an enormous place.
We had a lone passenger on the bus who talked loudly to himself and everyone, but seemed to enjoy himself.

U3A book group due to arrive shortly so a brief check in to catch up with the world. DS was jaundiced after his induced delivery three weeks early and looked like a little turnip lantern. Soon cleared though, and he became a very pretty baby, so hope the new babies flourish.

Drive finally finished and looking good, but why does one have to pester workmen to finish a job?

Shopping trip yesterday which means fridge is stocked again.
Finally remembered to top up my phone, I think it is three years since I did it last. I guess I don't make many calls on it.
DD arrives in the UK at lunchtime, she is actually taking a week's holiday. She really is in need of a rest after being ill with covid.
Thoughts are with poorly people especially the babies.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s grey and rainy in this corner of Lancashire.

Not much planned for today, l have hospital appointments tomorrow and I must make sure I have everything I need to take with me. It will be an early start so I will not be able to post here before I go.

I still have occasional flashbacks from the time of my brain injury baubles, which is most odd as I can’t actually remember a lot about it. It’s very unsettling and I hope you are feeling better today. Hope you are feeling better too Greyduster, night time fears and worries seem to cling so I hope your shopping trip helps.

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton, chucking it down here. Hope it stops by lunchtime as I have two dance classes to get to on the bus. I missed them last week because of heavy rain.

Woke early this morning for the bathroom, then went back to bed and dozed, coming to at almost 9am, which was a bit of a shock! Feeling thankful I changed my Sainsbury's delivery to late afternoon today.

Had a lovely afternoon at book club yesterday, especially as we had home-made lemon drizzle cake; lots of chat, some of it even about books!

My slow cooker sweet and sour chicken turned out ok, and have also got two portions for the freezer.. I am trying to batch cook a meal every week - I now have chilli, Bolognese, sweet and sour and curry meals in the freezer, and need to think of something to cook next week. Think I am going to spoil myself with egg and chips tonight....

Good morning from a damp and very still Glasgow. Just hoping the weather behaves as my cousin and I will be driving up to Perthshire to check on the various small jobs plus decorating which needed attention are now completed. We have decided to treat ourselves to a leisurely lunch and will meet up with one friend from Dunblane and another from Killearn at our local ?, Gleneagles, for lunch before heading back to Glasgow. DH and cousin’s DH can enjoy an empty at ours. I’m sure they will cope without us. ?

My heart goes out to you Grey and I hope your wise decision to get out, keeping yourself occupied, helps to lift your spirits. Hoping you have a more peaceful sleep tonight. I do like your sense of humour which made me smile.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey but mild Carlisle. Showers are forecast this morning but it should be dry this afternoon so I'm hoping to get out in the garden and pop a shrub or two in. I wonder if I will be able to just sit in the garden next year and admire them instead of exerting myself. I keep thinking the plot ought to be full by now, it's not big, but I keep finding a space for all the plants I'm tempted by in the garden centre.
I had my flu jab yesterday and today have a mildly sore arm that is barely noticeable. I walked back to the car via M&S though I knew I shouldn't. The sweaters I'd coveted a few weeks ago were still there so, after a bit of humming and hawing, I bought one! I don't actually need it, I'm just a sweater-olic. Now all I need is for the weather to get colder...

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Yesterday turned out nice we went looking at another fishing venue and had nice walk along canal in the sunshine. Then we went to a market in the near village, it's a good job we don't live close, there was a well stocked cheese store and I couldn't resist it. Next to that was the pastries and chutneys and round the corner homemade fudge and chocolates.
Haven't read through yet as I'm up later than usual.
So best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.

Good morning from a pale clear Algarve. Yesterday turned out dry and windy and I’m glad I could get the washing dry outside for the first time in a week. Especially as it poured again in the night.

I popped in early to send sympathy to grandMattie’s daughter. When we have power cuts here it cuts off our water as well. We always have bottled water available to drink BUT and it is a big but, it means the loo doesn’t flush so we have to resort to “bucket and chuck it.” It’s taken me years to get over having at least one ready filled bucket of water available overnight in the bathroom and now we have power cuts forecast again.

I too had a broken night worrying about a family matter. If I had just got up and looked at my phone it would all have been sorted!

I hope you feel more upbeat soon Greyduster and those babies come home. My DD also had jaundice but in those days I was still in hospital.

Driving down to DD’s in London today to hear all about her new job and the house they are in the process of buying.

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire, it’s another soggy one.

I’m feeling groggy after a very broken night. I have to get up at least once and still occasionally have awful flashbacks to when I was ill. It’s peculiar as I wasn’t conscious for several days but it’s almost like hallucinations.

Anyhoo, it’s Thursday again so I’m off to DS’s. The children will soon lift my spirits.

Last night we finished our running repairs to the camouflage netting to which the poppies are attached, the weather had taken its toll on some of the older ones. It’s ready now to be put in place, probably next week, in time for Remembrance Day.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11°and dry. Yesterday we had rain of biblical proportions! Greyduster problems always look worse at night, don't they? I hope things can be resolved. Abitbarmy I'm sure the twins will be fine. Dgs1 had a prompt readmission to hospital at day three for weight loss and jaundice. I think it's very common.
Yesterday was a day of two halves. The morning was slightly difficult. Mum was in a fit of gloom. She had a litany of things she wants to achieve but can't bring herself to do any of them. I find her very frustrating at times but button my mouth.
The afternoon brought an unexpected visit from dd and dgs2. It was lovely to see them. She also brought cake which is always welcome.
Today I will clean the windows and maybe make a start on the kitchen cupboards. Thanks for that Brook! Tonight I'm going to a pumpkin painting class at my local Tesco. They have a community room. My friends are going too so we will blether no doubt. I don't like to drive at night because of a developing cataract but it's five minutes away so manageable. Have a good day all.

Taichinan: I do sympathise with your DD having labyrinthitis. I found Sudafed nasal spray, recommended by my GP (by telephone!), gave great relief. Perhaps she has already tried that.

Good morning Mick and all. The sun is not quite up yet so it's still quite dark on the Angus coast. It looks to be a fine day though.
After a rainy morning yesterday it turned into a lovely afternoon. My friend and I followed the blue skies in a northerly and coastal direction for our cuppa at a lovely farm shop, and then took an up country route home. The colours really are amazing this autumn - eat your heart out New England!
Today after tai chi I'm off over to DD's til tomorrow. She's still very unwell with Labrynthitis. She tried cutting back on her seasickness tablets but after missing her teatime one she felt progressively worse all evening and had to take it during the night.
Apparently there's nothing to be done - it just has to run its course.
Greyduster I hope you're feeling a bit brighter now the sun's up - the wee sma' hours are the worst. I'm sure your shopping trip will be enjoyable and it's always good to be out and about ?
Abitbarmy I'm sure it won't be long before you're welcoming the twins and their mummy home again, poor little mites.

Sunrise

Good morning all and there’s another spectacular sunrise here at the Suffolk coast. It isn’t damp here Pitts and I’m not far from you, just further up the A12.

Yesterday we walked along the beach but Dh ‘s legs are getting weaker. We don’t know why and he won’t go back to the docs. ?. He just gets cross when I mention it. Men!
I’ll make an appointment for him when we get back to Essex. ?Two years ago he was playing golf 3 times a week , tennis and walking long distances. !

I stripped some wallpaper off the small sitting room in readiness to have the walls plastered. Plasterer coming to have a look on Monday. We’ll continue today - it’s easy as the walls are damp and the paper just peels off. This cottage is about 250 years old and has stood looking over the North Sea with everything the weather can throw at it. It’s cosy and warm though!

Maybe a trip out to Dunwich Heath today and watch the deer rutting. The countryside is looking beautiful! ??.

Yesterday went to town with my old MacBook , having chosen a replacement. I was told to come back later when they had checked out my old one. I went back after lunch, giving me good price for the old one set against the new one. Off I went home ready to set up the replacement to find the charger was incomplete and different from DHs old one!! Also the only page asked for a password, which I didn’t know. Had a cup of coffee and too it back to the shop. They produced the missing part of the charger and admitted it was the shop’s password that was on it. All sorted and I took it back home. First thing I had to do was update it - that took nearly an hour, and transfer my data from cloud. It is now working as it should- success!
