Good morning from E Kent. Not looked out but the forecast is dry (again, still) and warm.
Had a lovely day learning how to do Hardanger embroidery at my WI group. No idea what I’ll do with the half heart I embroidered, but it was nice to get out.
Supposedly quiet day today. Only the cleaner and a morning visitor for DL. Two in the afternoon!… Oh, I’ve got a dog walk this morning, my friend is giving me the money from my sold overlocker.
DD hold me that as an experiment, the part of Tuscany where she is on holiday, is shutting off both water and electricity from 9-5 last night, for “essential repairs”. Sounds fun (not)!
I hope you all find something to enjoy today. Carpe diem. ❤️❤️❤️

Urmstongran Thu 27-Oct-22 06:30:33

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Málaga where it’s still dark. I’ve just brewed up and brought my tea back to bed. Himself is snoozing beside me. He came in late from the bar last night but sensible after watching Rangers get beaten so he’s obviously not their lucky mascot anymore.

I continue to lose weight (in a good way, on my low fat diet and Orlistat). My fat belly is flattening. I’m not going to weigh myself until my appointment at the GP surgery mid-November, as not doing so helps to keep me focused. I used to be forever hopping on the bathroom scales.

No idea what we are doing today. Good news grandMattie your friend selling that overlocker (a complete mystery to me but still) so quickly. Enjoy Thursday (what? Already?) those who can and for those with troubles I hold you in my thoughts. You truly can’t buy peace of mind. x

Good morning from a still dark North Yorkshire, I’m still in bed wishing I had a cup of tea but DH is like yours Urmstongran. Worried about the twins who are back in hospital with Mum due to weight loss and jaundice. Not unusual of course but still not great. Got appointments for jabs this morning, after that will go and do some cleaning at DS. It’s all I can do to help currently. Had a better night’s sleep as DGd was back with DS last night. She must be a bit bothered by all the goings on too. Wishing everyone the best day possible.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 27-Oct-22 06:52:02

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. It’s dark and I can hear rain so I think it’s going to be all day.

I’m picking up GS from his Mum at 9 and he’s here for the day till son picks him up at 6. There is a pumpkin to carve with grandad and I’m hoping he’ll help me make a banana loaf his favourite. We have painting and printing leaves but it’s if he is in the mood to be engaged. Everywhere indoor will be busy today with the rain.

Urmstongran I just googled Orlistat I’ve never heard of it. Well done on losing your weight. I’m seriously thinking about going back to slimming world again. I definitely need too. Maybe after Christmas and my January holiday. Always an excuse with me. ?

Have a good day everyone and special thoughts to those struggling with illness and stress??

ShazzaKanazza Thu 27-Oct-22 06:54:10

Abitbarmy how worrying for you all ? bless those little darlings x

Urmstongran Thu 27-Oct-22 06:59:10

I was prescribed Orlistat by the surgery Shazza I’d never heard of it before either. It’s not an appetite suppressant but an enzyme that binds onto fat in the stomach. A low fat diet is important when taking it but instead of bemoaning what foods I can't eat I’ve given my head a wobble and am enjoying what I can eat - motivated of course by slow but steady weight loss.

Pressed to soon.
Hope the babies are out of the neonatal unit and home again very soon Abitbarmy.

Morning all from a dark West Oxfordshire. Our cleaning ladies are coming this morning so I can’t have a lie in! It is my Book Group this afternoon. We meet in the village Coffee Shop. We are talking about books with a Royal theme. I will talk about Hilary Mantell’s Cromwell books, Lady Glenconner’s autobiography and Chips Channon’s Diaries. This evening I will be popping round to a friend’s house. I will take a chocolate and cardamon cake which I made and froze a while ago. Have a good day everyone.

I hope those babies are home soon Abitbarmy.

kittylester Thu 27-Oct-22 07:07:00

Good morning all from a still dark North Leicestershire. We have rain in the forecast but i can't hear it at the moment.

DH has a drive this morning and we have a Sainsbury's delivery this pm.

Send love and gentle hugs to everyone who needs them.

cornergran Thu 27-Oct-22 07:17:00

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is forecast a decent day although it’s raining now.

Yesterdays trip worked well, we enjoyed lunch in the sun at Cardiff Bay and spent a long while just wandering and looking. Heard our friend was recovering well from yesterdays urgent surgery, a relief. She’s upset as it seems her husband will be an inpatient for some weeks.

This morning I must get my pain diary back to the hospital, it’s a few days late, oops. Ironing with my name on it. A PPG meeting at our surgery this afternoon. Mr C is on bed changing detail, he’s quite tired and will I’m sure have a snooze while I’m out.

Well done with the weight loss urms. It’s not easy. Hoping for good news about the twins abitbarmy, waiting is hard. Your day doesn’t sound that quiet grandmattie. Your dl sure does get a lot of visitors.

Have the best day you can everyone. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 27-Oct-22 07:19:01

Good morning all from Ibiza. There is a pale blue sky and it’s 18 degrees with a high of 26 later.
It was very humid yesterday so we didn’t last too long on the beach and retreated to the pool. GC loved it. We gave them lunch
and parents arrived back mid afternoon. In the evening we all went for a Chinese. DH was going to watch the football but didn’t feel too well and the two of us came back to the apartment. He must be I’ll if he missed football. Bit of upset stomache but fine today.
Family having a car day so DH and I are going on the boat to Santa Eulalia. Our favourite place. Last couple of days for most places to be open.

Hope the babies will soon be home abitbarmy

Enjoy your day with GS Shazxa sounds like nice things planned for him.
My MIL was on that medication Urms but a bit uncomfortable with repercussions ?

Take care everyone

brook2704 Thu 27-Oct-22 07:32:34

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark but looks dry. Yesterday we had really heavy rain in the morning and then lots of sunshine later.
Hoping those little babies and mum are all home again soon abitbarmy
Im still busy looking after our visitors today but will need to top up the fridge and cupboards again. Tomorrow I’m away for the weekend to see DD1 in Cambridge so will leave them all to it with DH in charge ?‍♀️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Greyduster Thu 27-Oct-22 07:33:54

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a dark damp South Yorkshire. I woke at some silly hour with my head in a complete turmoil and sat in bed in tears for a while. Added to which the battery on my iPad is as flat as a pancake. I’m determined it is NOT going to be “one of those days”! I’m going shopping this afternoon to cheer myself up.
Everything crossed for the little babies, Abitbarmy - just a blip I’m sure.? My DS was very jaundiced when he was born. The only thing that is occasionally jaundiced about him now is his view of life!?
Have the best day you can folks!

Grammaretto Thu 27-Oct-22 07:36:19

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 11° here and still dark.
I'm off to my class today. I have enjoyed these last few weeks. It's the history of Scottish pottery and so nice to sit in comfy seats, watching slides and listening to the expert.
I just mustn't fall asleep. like I did last time

I hope the babies are soon home again Abitbarmy. Sounds like you are nearby which is lovely.
I must book a train to go to see mine in England.
Good to have a diet that works Urms
Have a nice day everyone.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 27-Oct-22 07:36:29

Greyduster ?x

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 27-Oct-22 07:39:16

Good morning from a dark and damp Oxfordshire.

Hairdresser this morning, then the ironing beckons.

MissOops is going home for the day, trying to readjust, but as she has to have her leg up for most of the day until 6 weeks have passed they might as well all be here rather than in separate houses.

MzOops went home yesterday via Bristol to see LittleMissOops as she was having a ‘wobble’, in the space of a day she had made a couple of friends and was going to a party, so that was a relief. Money is a worry for her though as she still can’t find a weekend job, things will work out I’m sure, meanwhile the Bank of Grandad helps out.
On the way home MasterOops had two University offers, which is a good result, one was his second choice so good to have in his back pocket. Offers seem to be going out early.

Have a good day everyone and hopefully all those who are unwell will soon be feeling better.

Pittcity Thu 27-Oct-22 07:48:26

Good morning from a warm, damp Colchester. Rainy and reaching 20 degrees...yuk!
The laundry pile has grown and the cupboards are bare. It's the same every week but seems to come around more quickly nowadays.
Love and hugs to all ? x

Ashcombe Thu 27-Oct-22 07:50:29

Good morning from a dry, mild Torbay.

After a poor night in which I was awake for a couple of hours, I’m late on parade today. Having spoken to the surgeon's secretary yesterday, I’m pleased to learn that a self administered negative Covid LFT result is accepted for my admission to hospital on Sunday, bed availability permitting!

My thoughts are with your family, Abitbarmy, especially the twins. I'm sure your heartache will soon be replaced with joy when they turn a corner and are well enough for home.

Keep up the good work with the weight loss, Urmstongran! The cartoon from Matt today is very apposite, thanks.

Keep smiling, folks! Your jaundice quip gave me one, Greyduster! ?????

Beechnut Thu 27-Oct-22 07:56:30

Good morning from a very wet Severnside.

I too am late getting out of bed today. It’s so much darker these mornings and I feel cosy.

I’ll do some crafting today along with getting my prescriptions hopefully and writing and posting letters. I’ve also got to make an online appointment which I shall have to read carefully.

I’ve not read any of your news yet so will go back and do that while I drink my cuppa.

Have a good day all ☂️?

brook2704 Thu 27-Oct-22 07:57:44

Oh greyduster hope your shopping trip later helps lift your spirits a bit, take care ?

ginny Thu 27-Oct-22 07:57:58

Good morning.
First job today is taking the dog to the exercise field.
DHhas to collect his Mum later to take her to an eye appointment and this afternoon to the dentist. We shall take her out to lunch later on.
I might make some mince pies later. We are away for nearly 3 weeks in November soI need to get a little ahead in the Christmas stakes.
Wishing all a pleasant day .

Naughtyneine Thu 27-Oct-22 08:05:12

Morning... It's a bit murky here in West Somerset... I'm never inspired to rush anywhere when it's grey outside. I bought some allium and hyacinth bulbs yesterday so if the sun comes out I'll set to and pain permitting plant them out.
I hope the babies and their Mumma are home soon ABitbarmy...They do send them home so quickly these days. My twin Grandsons were delivered by CS and home within 48 hours too.
Well done Urms keeping up with a diet on holiday...
Shazza... Enjoy your special time with your DGS..I envy you.
I hope the racing is good Mick and GreyDuster...wishing you a good day after an iffy start.

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 27-Oct-22 08:15:55

Good morning all from dry Harrogate
Your quiet days ad mine are slightly different GrandMattie
Yesterday went to town with my old MacBook , having chosen a replacement. I was told to come back later when they had checked out my old one. I went back after lunch, giving me good price for the old one set against the new one. Off I went home ready to set up the replacement to find the charger was incomplete and different from DHs old one!! Also the only page asked for a password, which I didn’t know. Had a cup of coffee and too it back to the shop. They produced the missing part of the charger and admitted it was the shop’s password that was on it. All sorted and I took it back home. First thing I had to do was update it - that took nearly an hour, and transfer my data from cloud. It is now working as it should- success!
Hope those babies are back home soon Abitbarmy
Have the best day possible folks
